Bonus Chapter ~ 9

I stared at the headlines on the flat-screen TV for a few more seconds and my heart rate increased. My mouth was dry and I beginning to think that maybe we had made the wrong call. Maybe we should have turned ourselves in.

The police could have seen our side and understood us.

“The headline reads culprits. Plural!” Liam began to panic. “Do you think that they know that it was us? Or how else would they know that it was more than one person that was in the car?”

“I don’t think they know. It has not even been four hours yet. But what I do think is that we should turn ourselves in.” My voice was small, but loud enough for Liam to hear.

“What?” He scoffed. “No!” He walked to the couch and sat down. “We agreed that we weren’t going to do that.”

I peeled my eyes off the TV and sat next to him. “You don’t have to worry. I could tell the police that I was alone in the car.”
