Chapter 28.

“Thank you” I mutter to the voice I hear behind the door.

“Thank you” I say again, trying to hide how broken and drained I am.

I hear the footstep walk away and it leaves me smiling

“They would always care about me” I mutter to myself.

I decide to clean up and head to my room.

I decide on wearing my pink Mickey Mouse nightwear, just because Kendra and I have it matching. Hers is blue and mine is pink.

I smile at the memory. It was the second week of knowing each other, when we finally decided to get matching pajamas.

To us, it meant that we were inseparable. When we grew older, and it became smaller, we decided to get a new pair.

I knock lightly on Kendra’s door and

“Come in” I hear her say faintly.

“Hey” I say once I open the door.

She’s cuddled in Jim’s arms and I could see there was something going wrong with her.

She takes a glance at me and back at Jim.

“Can we please talk?” I ask her.

Jim doesn’t wait for her to answer, he places a soft kiss on her head and gently takes her body
