The ethereal glow pulsed, beckoning like a siren song. Evie hesitated, her hand hovering inches from the shimmering surface. Liam stood beside her, his face etched with a mixture of apprehension and grim determination.

"We don't know what's on the other side," he said, his voice barely a whisper in the echoing silence of the chamber.
