Ryker
"Are you sure involving the girl won't cause us problems later on?" Ralph, my close friend and most trusted partner in the biker gang pointed out. I was standing by the window, gazing outside. The sky was dark and carried so many stars in it. I didn't expect the situation to escalate to this too. I just got my heart betrayed by the girl I thought would stand by my side. The same girl I pledged to love and protect with everything in me. The same girl that I did everything for. Only for me to catch her with my stepbrother in bed. That betrayal didn't stop there. It turned out they had been having an affair behind my back. I always knew Marcus didn't like me. He showed his dislikes the very first day father brought him and his mother into the family and introduced him as my brother. I never thought father had other family apart from me and mother. He never mentioned anything while she was alive. Until after her death. A few months after her passing, he brought them in. We were both the same age with a few months gap between us. Marcus would clock 19 before me. I didn't say much because it won't change anything. But Father knows how much that hurts me. My mother was the second woman. I was the second son despite the few months interval. My father Philip Oscar, leader of Black Raven, one of the biggest gang clubs in the city. Had won tons of awards for his ruling with an iron fist. Whenever you hear the name P. Oscar, in the bikers gang, know that my father isn't an easy target. And that was how we were being brought up. With power and ruthlessness. Black Ravens had made its name as the most feared gang in the world of bikers and we owned it. Recently Father wants Marcus and I to take control together. It had reached a stage where he wanted to step down and allow his two sons to take care of Black Raven. He wanted me to turn 18 before I join the gang officially. I thought everything was going to be easy but Marcus snatched my girl away. They both betrayed me. Everyone knew Hilda was my girlfriend in school because I am that bad boy because call me. I do whatever I want to in school without giving a damn. I attend classes whenever I feel like it. Despite that, I still come out with good results. Hilda was lucky I picked her among thousands of girls who are dying to find themselves in my arms. She didn't think twice before running into my brother's arms. Marcus always acts like a kind person. Punctual in school and behaves like a smart boy. Well, he's that smart. But I don't give a damn about what people say about him being more intelligent than me. I still have the most popularity in school. And I am not fake like him. I'm sure the news had gone all around the school by now. If I got a video of them kissing in the backyard of the school, it meant everyone had received it. And I was sure the red-haired Lily had gotten the news too. Marcus had never liked me and always find ways to frame me. "I am the first son. You will always be my shadow." These were the words that hit me deeply. Right then and there, I knew I needed to do whatever it takes to be the leader of Black Raven. It doesn't matter whether the gang gets divided. For the first time, I wanted to be at the top and not Marcus. Lily came at the right time and she seemed to be the perfect candidate for my plans. A smile found its way out of me as I recalled the stunts she pulled at my office earlier. The same stunts she pulled at the restaurant a few weeks ago. I was clearly shocked at the way she looked at me without fear when I told her to wipe my shoes by going down on her knees. I am the kind that doesn't tolerate shit but that day, I couldn't do anything to her. Until I found out she was my classmate and one of the inactive students. Just like me. "That girl is not okay in the head. She is crazy." I was brought back to reality by Ralph's words. He was right. The red-haired is too hot-headed for my liking. She has a big mouth, she's crazy but not bad in terms of physical appearance. I don't know whether her red hair was natural or she dyed it. Not my type but 6 months won't be that much for me to tolerate her. Did I just say tolerate her? She would be the one to tolerate me. Because I don't take shit. The betrayal from Hilda has opened my eyes. Never will I ever allow any girl to play around with my feelings. Maybe Hilda will think she had gotten away and chose my stepbrother over me. But I will make sure I burn the two of them. They will both regret messing up with me. I hired Lily so I could take my revenge on the two. Most especially Hilda for messing up with me. I gave her everything. I turned around to face Ralph. "That was the reason why I picked her. She looks crazy on the outside but she will make my job easier. Do you still have the ring?" Ralph fished the box from his pocket. Anger suddenly hit me at the memories of how foolish I was for giving Hilda everything. I even bought a ring to gift her on her birthday. She really got me on this. I was foolish not to see that all her beauty was fake. Another rule: Never fall for a beauty. "I can't believe Hilda would do such a thing to you." "Of course, Marcus has coaxed her with money. She's all for the money. " I realized now that Hilda was all for the money. I've spent a lot on her and gifted her a lot of luxury items. I spared my phone a look that was buzzing from the desk. A call from father. "Father." "Meet me at the house." His orders were short and direct. I dropped the phone and looked at Ralph who had his eyes on me already. Ralph is among one of the bikers of Black Raven. We train together. Ralph is the one who helps with my assignments. As a matter of fact, I hate school. Why would I go to school when I will be handling the gang in the end? And that doesn't need qualifications. But father wouldn't let me be. He wants me to get the certificate and even planning on sending me out of the country to further my studies. That is something I will never agree to. As soon as I'm done with high school, that would be the end. "Father wants me to meet him at the house. You know what to do." I had asked Ralph to pick up Lily and bring her to the house. Ralph nodded. "I will go pick her up." I have already explained things to Lily. What her roles would be. She just needed to put in her effort and act like a typical girlfriend. 6 months is enough to get things set and take control of Black Raven. My goal is to beat Marcus and I will do whatever to make that happen. I stepped on the veranda of our family house where father lives with his wife. My stepmother. "I thought you won't be able to make it." A familiar voice resonated to my eardrums. Marcus appeared beside me. The bruise from the blow I landed on his lips was visible. I bet he wanted another blow. This time around, I will make sure I make it deep. In such a way that he won't use his mouth for some days to blabber nonsense. "Mind your business, Marcus." I snarled. A smug smile curved up his lips. And for the life of me, the urge to blow his face kept on growing inside me. "Take it easy bro. I understand how heartbreaks are. I didn't expect you to show up here. I thought you would be in bed nursing your broken heart." "Shut it, Marcus!" I yanked his collar and seethed. "You're an annoying fool, Marcus. My heart is not weak if I might remind you. Hilda is my past now. I don't give a damn about the two of you." "Are you sure? How would you face the students now who are rooting for the two of you? The news has spread around you know." "Marcus!" My hand tightened around his neck. "Yes, Ryker. I will always be the good boy. Whether in school or our biker's club. After all, I am the first son." "A foolish first son right? You are just a few months older than me. And let me tell you something, I am never going to be someone without a second option. Why do you think I didn't say anything to Hilda? Because I have an option. She cheated and I cheated too." Marcus's expression changed to that of confusion. This was my chance to show him I was not affected by what they did. Yes, you are. You just don't want to accept it. I moved away from Marcus and stuffed my hands inside my pocket. "I have a girl too. I am going to introduce her to you soon. I knew all about your plans. So, let's see how you will come at me this time around, Marcus because I am going to burn you. Mark my words." With that, I turned the doorknob and stepped inside leaving Marcus in a dumbfounded state. Marcus came in a few minutes later. I was sure I had given him enough to get angry. Father was seated in his usual spot on the sofa while his wife was next to him. "You're here, Ryker." She said with a fake smile. I don't even give a damn about her. She is my father's wife and not my mother. Her smile faded when she realized I was in no mood for her pretense. "Good evening father." I greeted my father taking my seat. "Good evening Father," Marcus joined in and occupied the seat next to me. "Evening sons. Helen can you excuse us." "Sure, Philip." I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at the fake smile she put on her face as she picked up the cup of coffee from the table. Father dropped the newspaper he was reading by the side and fixed his eyes on us. "I'm sure both of you know why I called you here." "Yes, father." He nodded. "Good. You recalled the tournament I told you about right?" "The one you said I would be the team leader?" Marcus said with a smile I so much hated on his face. I threw him a glare. "Yes. The date of the tournament came out earlier. I'm very sure you guys know what that means." "Yes, father. We are going to play it with a new style this time around." I wanted to punch Marcus so badly for not allowing me to speak up. Father nodded. "That's great. I want you guys to lead the gang as soon as possible. You can't do it alone without some support. Both of you are still young. You have your studies and then the club. I don't want your attention to get divided. I will support you in whatever way I can as usual. Back then when I started, your mother had contributed a lot." There he goes again with talking about my mother. I hated how he talked about my mother as if she was the love of his life. I wished I had earplugs to block my ears from listening to his musical story about my mother. "So, I want you guys to follow my footsteps so that-" Father's words halted when the door was opened. Our eyes shifted to Ralph entering. A red-haired woman appeared behind Ralph. I recognized her from her hair color. Red. But her way of dressing was entirely what I wasn't expecting. She was dressed head to toe in a rugged biker's outfit, black leather hugging her curves like a second skin. Her jacket was scuffed and worn, with patches sewn. The heavy boots on her feet thudded against the floor with each step she took, her presence commanding the room. She surveyed the room with a sharp, calculating gaze—eyes that matched the intensity of her hair. There was something sharp in her eyes, an edge that warned she wasn't to be messed with. She moved further into the room, the soft jingle of metal from her belt the only sound cutting through the silence, as if daring anyone to challenge her right to be there. Up to the moment she approached us, our eyes didn't waver from her. She stopped in front of my father and pushed her hand forward. "Hello Sir, I'm Lily. Your son, Ryker's girlfriend and new manager." Right then and there, I realized I had gotten involved with the real gangster. A red-haired gangster.Lily All eyes were on me as I sat down on the seat offered to me by Ryker’s father. No one needed to tell me who he was because the resemblance was there. Ryker’s surprised feature was still there. I bet he wasn’t expecting me to come off like that. I was surprised at my new way of dressing. When Ralph came to pick me up, he had asked me to wear something professional yet classy since I would be meeting Ryker’s family as his fiancee. And from the clothes I have in my wardrobe, none would fit the classy theme he wanted. So, I asked him to take me to a shopping mall. An outfit caught my attention which was way professional and classy, that was what brought the idea to dress just like them. A gang member. The silence lingered in the room until Phillip Oscar, Ryker’s father spoke up, his deep voice resonating through the room. I could understand why he was a leader of a gang. The aura around him looked strong.Ralph had briefed me about Ryker’s family. Not much but enough for me to put u
RykerI should have known striking a deal with someone I know little about would cause me problems. I was so desperate to find a solution to my problems and didn't bother to do a background check on her first. Because why in hell would someone make up a lie like that? Firstly, she dressed up like a gangster baddie which was unexpected. Secondly, she fed all sorts of lies to my father about how we met. I was going to be the one to do the talking when she arrived. But I was shocked when she came in dressed like that. Although I would say the gangster outfit fits her red hair. Another thing that shocked me was how she told my father that I was attracted to her red hair. I didn't even pay much attention to that. She's too spiteful for my liking. And now that I am slowly getting what I want, I can't afford mistakes. Not with Marcus and Hilda making their way towards us. I took a step forward and circled my hand around Lily's waist taking her by surprise. Her eyes widened at my action. Sh
Lily"Harry!" "Get your ass out here!" I shouted raking my fingers through my hair in frustration. Its too early for my brother and I to start a fight but every time, he pissed me off, one way or the other. He doesn't even care about the mess he put me into. The mess I got into because of his reckless behavior. I had a slight bit of regret inside me last night as I saw the way Ryker's family are. For him to use me just to get back at his ex-girlfriend added more to my turmoil. I never bother about any man, I don't even give a damn but I wouldn't want someone to take advantage of me. "Why are you shouting my name as if I'm a thief." I didn't hesitate to smack his head. "Are you crazy? What is all this mess." I gestured to the unkempt pillows and snack bags."Oh is this why you're shouting? You can sort it out of course." he proceeded to walk pass me but I dragged him back. "I didn't ask you to leave. Where are you going?"I accessed his body from head down. He wasn't in his school
Lily“Where exactly are you going?” Harry asked me for a million times as I dragged my big box out of my room. I haven’t said a word to him neither did I attempt to. I wheeled it to the front door before going to the kitchen. “I’ve been talking to you answer me. I'm not a ghost.” He said as he followed me to the kitchen. I fetched myself a glass of water, gulped down, and steadied my racing heart before finally fixing my eyes on him.“I’m leaving.” Harry's eyes darted left to right in confusion. “To where?”“We find another way to fend for us. We can't stay here penniless and starve ourselves. Thanks to someone, I have lost my job and everything.”Harry heaved out a sharp breath realizing where my words were heading. “Listen, Lily, don't engage in anything bad just to get money.”“I am not like you fool!” I snarled pushing forward to smack him but he retreated back. “I might be crazy but I won't stoop so low for money.”You involved yourself with Ryker’s, don't you think that is also
Lily“Remember don’t do or say anything out of what we discussed. And most importantly, don’t get into a fight with anyone.” Ryker explained. Only if he knew. I wasn’t planning on following any of his requests. Just to show him how crazy I am, I would do things my way. “Are you listening to me?” He asked looking at me with annoyance. I was the reason behind his annoyance because I didn’t go for the slutty dresses he picked out for me. I went for a baddie. That will depict the gangster personality. I have never worn that kind of outfit before but it’s better than wearing revealing clothes that I’m not comfortable with. “I heard you. Everything you said. It’s stored in this head of mine.” I uttered forming my lips into a thin line. Ryker eyes didn’t waver from mine and I knew he had more to say.“There’s no way I would be convinced that you’re okay in the head. I’m sure you have hit your head somewhere before.”“Shut it! You keep saying I’m not mentally stable. Stop getting on my nerv
RykerFor the first time, I saw fear in the eyes of the woman who always acts tough and crazy. It’s easy to tame her type. They act all strong but when you dig, you will realize their heart is fragile. The fear in her eyes quickly turns to anger. It happened so fast and unexpectedly, I felt an intense pain in my groin. Lily pushed me away. “Get off me!” she spat. I held the spot with my hand. How can a woman be this strong?I managed my stance but I could still feel the pain down there. “Are you crazy? Do you want to dismantle my thing?”I expected to see regret in her eyes but she was smirking instead. Her eyes went down. “Your thing?” she repeated as if she didn't understand what was going on. “Oh, that?” She said. “Is it not strong enough? Or does it not work again.”If I say I wasn't shocked at her boldness I would be lying. The only thing I didn't do was show my reaction. The fact that she was saying all that to my face without even having any chills baffles me. “Looks like you
Lily“Are you crazy? Do you think marriage is a joke!” Where the words of Bella after I had told her everything. Bella is a very close friend more like a sister that I can’t hide things from. “Help me with my zipper,” I said instead ignoring her rant. It was finally the ceremony day of our wedding. My fake wedding to Ryker. The past two days had been quite hectic not what I was expecting. But I get to notice some of the habits of his family. I notice Ryker doesn’t get along with his stepmother. As for the woman, I wasn’t sure whether her smiles were genuine or she was only putting on a fake facade. Overall, I couldn’t care less. What mattered to me was the job. I had my first meeting with the gang members. It wasn’t what I expected but I can handle it. I was brought back from my trance by a smack on my back. “What the fuck!” I hissed out massaging the spot. “You’re too violent.” I threw her a glare.“I can never surpass you. What are you thinking exactly? How could you marry someone
Ryker"Sir, this is the rough budget for the charity event." Ralph placed his iPad in front of me. I scrolled through it. "Isn't this amount too much? You know we have to cut down for the sponsorship." "Due to the number of players, if we cut out from the amount, we might not be able to meet the goal. But we can negotiate with other gangs." Ralph explained. I scrolled down. "So the total number of players for the charity event are twenty?""Yes Sir. But we can-""Good morning gentlemen." Ralph's statement was cut short by the entrance of Lily. "Is this the time a manager is supposed to come to the office? And that on her first day?" I said intertwining my hands over the table."Is there a specific time for me to be here? I wasn't informed and besides I'm your wife, so I can come to the office any time I feel like it. How do I look?" She turned her body around. She was dressed in a black leather jacket and pants which hugged her body. Revealing her perfect curves. Did I just say perfe
LilyMy heart didn't stop beating fast neither did my eyes diverted from Ryker. He likes me? As in he has feelings for me? I don't know why but I felt as If fireworks were happening in my stomach. The distance between our faces was just an inch. I could practically feel his breath on my face. “I do not want to think about anything else. But us,” He muttered through the thick silence. My eyes went down to his lips and back to his face. “Me too,” I slowly answered. We looked down at our lips back to our faces together. We knew exactly what we wanted. Ryker held the back of my head and covered my lips with his. The kiss started slow. I know it wasn't the first time but the case was different now. This is someone who confesses his love for me. A man who likes me. Should I let my heart loose and trust his words for once?I'm scared but I also want to experience the feeling of being loved for once. Yes. Every other thing will come later. I also cupped his face and parted my lips to give h
Lily"Aren't we going home? Why are you following a different direction?" I asked seeing that Ryker had followed another route. He looked at the rear mirror. "We are being followed," My blood quickened up. "What? Why? Who is that?" I bombarded all at once turning around. "I don't know. Maybe a reporter. But I don't want to go home so they won't end up bombarding the house. Let's go somewhere for now,""Where? Don't tell me we are leaving the city," "Are you crazy? Why would I leave the city for something like this? I just want to wear him down. When he gets tired, he'll stop following," I rolled my eyes when he glared at me. "Must you use the word crazy? Why am I even talking to you," I turned my face to the windows. "Don't talk to me," I don't know how long Ryker had been driving but the reporter or whoever he is, didn't stop following. "Why is he so persistent," Ryker hissed out hitting the steering wheel. We stopped at the traffic. Ryker stared at the rear mirror in thinking.
Lily "Ryker! Get me the fuck out of here!" I screamed at the top of my lungs kicking the door continuously with my foot. I was angry–no seething. Ryker is so annoying. I was mistaken when I said he might be a nice man. No, he's not. He's too arrogant and full of himself. We have been arguing for the past two days. I haven't forgiven him yet. He knew it. He hadn't explained better. He might have said sorry but that doesn't mean it came from his heart. "I was such a fool for believing him!" I kicked the door once more. "You and your lover can go fuck up yourselves!" I banged on the door once more. I felt like my heart would rip apart from anger. At this rate, I didn't care whether the family would see through everything. Hilda dares to mock me in front of the family and all he did was drag me out of there. So, I wouldn't fight with his lover. An annoyed laugh left my lips. "Suit you well then. Staying in the bathroom isn't a big deal," I was sure he could hear me from the room. I
Lily"Who is that handsome man over there?" Stella, Bella's cousin gestured to Ryker with her eyes. Her question didn't bother me but the woman he was talking to. Who is she? She doesn't seem like a stranger to him because Ryker was smiling as he talked to her. "Oh him," Bella said, her eyes going to me. "Do you know him?" Stella's friend asked Bella twirling her hair while her eyes fixed on Ryker. There was no way anyone wouldn't notice she was interested in him. My eyes moved to Ryker then began walking towards our table. I felt my breathing hitch. The lady he was talking to hasn't taken her eyes off him "Damn, he's heading towards us," Stella nudged her friend. I wanted to roll my eyes but didn't get to do that as Ryker had already stopped in front of us. "Oh my God, he's right in front of us," They whispered to each other. "Hey ladies," He greeted, with a wave, his eyes shifting to me. "Hi Ryker," Bella waved back, forming a smile on her lips. But I didn't. "Hi, I'm Stella
RykerI ain't even going to lie. I have been thinking about Lily lately. She has occupied nearly every part of my brain. I can't seem to go a minute without stealing a glance at her. I don't know whether she has used something on me. But matter of fact, she had trapped me. I wasn't able to concentrate on my work, not that I had any work to do. The sound of a knock on the door followed by Ralph snapped my attention back.I noticed Ralph and Lily don't fight each other like they used it back then. Lily sure had gotten recognition from the club already. "Sir," Ralph said, dropping his iPad in front of me. "These are the questions that you will be answering for the interview," Lily seemed curious to know what Ralph and I were talking about. I scrolled down the twenty questions. "Reduce them to 15 or 10. I can't answer this much. Ralph nodded, taking the iPad back. "Alright, Sir. And the next match had been scheduled. Next week in Amsterdam,""No problem. This isn't anything new. We wi
Lily D-DayAnother match, another hope. In the last match that took place, I didn't give it much attention because I hadn't been used to the club yet. But now, all I can say is that I'm glad things are slowly working for me. Maybe. Just Maybe things will move steadily in the end.“Let's not forget guys! Our motto!” Marcus clapped his hands addressing the boys. I didn't expect him to get indulged in the affairs since he didn't take any lead last time. This time around, Ryker left everything in his hand. To be their leader. At some point, I understood why he did that. He wanted to know if Marcus would mess up the match. If he is in control, obviously he won't mess it up. If he wants to save his name. The boys began moving out of the garage one by one with my bikes. “All the best to us bro!” Marcus patted Ryker's shoulder before taking off too. Ryker rolled his eyes in response. “You know ... maybe he had started coming around,” I said, taking a step forward and folding my arms acro
LilyI don't know how Ryker was able to stay calm after saying what he said but my heart wasn't stable. I wanted to move away from him but lost the strength to. Ryker held my gaze with an unreadable expression on his face. And the truth of it was I liked how he looked at me. As if I was the only thing lookable in the world. His eyes then shifted down to my lips and lingered there for the longest time. I literally held my breathing when he whispered, "I want to kiss you," He repeated for the second time.I don't think he needed permission to do that. We might not know how exactly we ended up liking being close to each other like this but who cares? The moment is all that matters. "Do it then," I answered. His gaze held mine once more. For a brief second before he captured my lips into a sensational kiss. I responded with much intensity. Ryker pulled me to him and deepened the kiss. I like the taste of his lips on mine...I like how he held me in his arms and kissed me...I don't mind
Lily"Bella! What's taking you so long to finish cooking the noodles!" I frustratingly yelled out. Bella had been in the kitchen for over thirty minutes. I didn't know instant noodles take that much time. I tried to concentrate on the sport showing on the TV. Lately, I have taken a liking for sports–racing to be precise. Maybe because I've been liking how Ryker and his boy race around the club. Bella dropped a pot of the sizzling hot noodles on the table in front of me. "First of all, this is not your house. You can come and order me around. And lower down the TV volume!" Bella looked like a mother scolding her child. That only made me laugh. "Do you think this is funny?" She needed to know that acting arrogant didn't fit her. "No Ma'am. Thank you for the noodles," I was about to pick up the chopsticks when Bella blocked me. "You are not eating it now,"My eyes darted left to right. "Why though?"She picked up the remote control, lowered the volume, and crashed next to me. "Unless
RykerWe had barely three days left before the match, and I reminded the boys what's needed to do. A match with the Red Robin Club wasn't anything new but after following Lily’s idea, we found out they had trained their boys and even signed more skilled bikers. That doesn't bother me much because I know what I am capable of doing. My eyes shifted to Lily's desk. She had just gotten paid and left the office without a word. Well, I knew she had been looking forward to her first payment. And I won't be surprised if all will go to her brother. She told me that he had apologized. She doesn't have to say it for me to know how much she loves her brother. There's always this feeling when you have a supportive sibling or parents. I do not have any of that…Maybe my father but he can't fill up the empty void my mother left. I know for a fact that it will always sadden me whenever I think about how soon she left us.The room felt dull without Lily's presence or her glare at me. To be honest, m
