Eira’s POV

My eyes widened in shock as I glanced at her, unable to believe what I had just heard. Did she just call me Eira?

Wasn’t she not supposed to recognize me?

Did that mean my appearance hadn’t changed at all? But Kieran didn’t recognize me. How could she be the one to do so?

You can explain what happened while you were left alone. For now, I’ll take you to Alpha Magnus. It seems to me that you have a better plan.”

My lips parted as I tried to speak, but I shut my mouth immediately. There was nothing I could tell her yet—I couldn’t risk someone overhearing. It was better to talk to her later.

Was she asleep already?Getting off the bed, I dropped the facade of sleeping and headed for the window. Outside, I could see guards patrolling the place—tons of them.I hadn’t mentioned to Eira that Kieran would feel the bond shatter, leaving him clueless about how it broke. He must be feeling a sense of loss right now, and it was quite entertaining to think of him searching for a Luna he wouldn’t even recognize when they met again. Finally, something interesting was happening to me.Now that she was with me, there was no longer a need to deal with Kieran. We’re joining Kieran for breakfast.”Those words made me freeze. Having breakfast with Kieran again was a nightmare I didn’t want to relive. He would be dining with Vanessa, and facing both of them was the last thing I wanted. It would be even harder to face Vanessa—she was the main reason I had been locked up in the first place.“Is that really necessary?” I asked Magnus, hoping he’d say no. His face was stunned, clearly not expecting something like that.“Are you going to say some greetings, or…?” Magnus asked, intentionally trailing off to give them a chance to respond to the question he had just asked.I peered at the two of them, waiting for their reaction. Magnus had asked about me, and I wanted to hear what excuse Kieran would give for my disappearance. He hadn’t told Magnus about me vanishing yesterday, and I was sure he wouldn’t do so now, either.“The Luna isn’t back yet,” Kieran muttered, looking like he had regained his composure.I listened, waiting for him to give whatever excuse he had prepared, but he hesitated, his brows furrowing as he tried to fake sadness.“She got caught up in a rogue attack and is injured. But that wouldn’t have mattered—Kieran would never have let me go, and he would never have agreed to divide the packs either. It had been years since my father’s death, and the packs had become so intertwined that separating them now was nearly impossible. But would they accept me? I had no history with them, no factual background, and after changing my appearance, I was nothing more than a stranger Magnus had picked up.
