The beauty of Camp Gigant was nowhere near Islandia but it was beautiful much more than any place on earth.

This wasn’t what she expected in the least, giant were supposed to be dirty and tattered creatures at least that was what the books made them out to be.

There were a lot of tall trees, with different kinds of fruits. The flowers were in a variety of colours and shapes and were scattered neatly about. It just looked like a wide expanse of land, there were no buildings or tents or wood houses in view. It was like everyone just seemed to live outside. They were a lot of giants around, male and female, save for the animal skin wrap around their waist, they wore nothing else. The women had very long hair that covered each of their breasts.

One noticeable feature about all of them was that unlike expected, they weren’t bald and gnarly looking, neither were they potbellied with folds of fat everywhere. They had full heads of hair, perfect facial features, pristine and defined, their

They were sitting together in a semi-circle, it was near nightfall. Everyone was focused on the challenge ahead and how to escape this night unhurt. Clark was fast asleep, snoring loudly. Everyone else was drowsy. Dragomir lazily tapped away with his fingers. Guinevere was watching an ant go by. Chloe curled her finger around her hair repeatedly. Raisel was going through her sling bag double checking continuously to see if she had missed anything. “What is the plan?”, Chloe asked breaking the silence. “The plan is simply to sneak our way out of Camp Gigant’ unnoticed by the giant and continue on with our various lives”, Dragomir explained. “What if they wake up midway and try to get us?”, Guinevere asked. “We have thought about that possibility but we are no match for the giants and we don’t have weapons”, Dragomir replied, “So we try our best not to rouse them” “Exactly, let us focus on only the possibilities today and hope we get past them unhurt and without waking them”, Raise

Votigern sat on his make-believe throne, every bit the sovereign ruler he saw himself as. He was clad in a red and gold patterned robe and golden slippers. You wouldn’t have guessed he was of no royal descent. In his opinion he was way greater than all the rulers pulled together, he had lived amongst dragons, fooled them and owned the greatest stone ever. He had tasted power raw. It had made him grow from a weak and lanky man to a very strong one. There was a feast before him, but he was the only one at the head of the table, he didn’t think his men were worthy enough to sit beside him. It was a meal of lamb chop, fresh bread, berries and fine wine. It was too much for him to finish but he liked the solitude, it gave him time to think, about his future, away from all the other men that followed him, they were mediocre, men of small minds, they couldn’t possibly think like him. They couldn’t fathom what he had imagined. So you could imagine his anger when one of his lowest guards he h

She went over it one more time, “I can’t believe this was what we stayed back for at Camp Gigant’ and almost got crushed by giants for”. “Let me see”, Dragomir took it from her hand, “I don’t know but I felt a pull to it like it was important to our quest. Just like how you feel with the stone calling out to you" Raisel nodded, “I understand but how do we decrypt this?” “This is some kind of language…let me see”, Dragomir sat on the floor and studied closely. They were still in the woods. After a while he spoke, “This is Romanian, just like Gigant”, he explained, “Rising… Raisel scribbled. “Rising to….it’s…former…reign? glory, yes glory”, he finished, “Rising to its former glory” “You speak Romanian?”, she asked, “Are you sure?” He rolled his eyes, “No I do not. Maybe you can decrypt it?" “Okay okay whatever!", she r

  • A DRAGON TALE    Pigsty

They rode into a small village that was surprisingly empty, void of people and activities. When they were deep into the village they began to hear noise from a distance. It was dusk by the time they arrived. They rode for a while before they spotted a few people tending to one thing or the other. When they rode further into the city, the noise increased and they were able to pinpoint its origin, there was a large gathering of people in a large circle, what was causing the noise and excitement amongst the people was still a mystery because of the people obstructing their view. Dragomir glanced at Raisel from where she sat behind him on the horse and the look on her face was all he needed to go on with his plan. He got down from the horse and helped her down too. He led the horse and tied it to a tree around a corner, the grass was green in the area so the horse started eating almost immediately. Then together, their hands entwined like they had not just argued not too long ago, they

Dragomir watched her disappear underneath the water and when she popped back up, it was a heavenly sight, her long black hair was matted to her face, her lips, even more, rosier than it usually was, it slightly quivered as a result of the cold water, her blue eyes underneath the moonlight was like gazing at the clouds on a beautiful sunny day. The white dress she wore clung tightly to her, revealing every crevice of her body. He wanted to trace patterns with his fingers, it was crazy but his attraction to this woman was undeniable. He knew he wasn’t supposed to stray or look at her like that, but he couldn’t help it. He was thankful for the fact that he was in the water and not watching her from the outside, else his arousal would have been evident for her to see. She seemed to not have noticed his intent stare or she was doing a good job at concealing it. She was perfect in more ways than he could imagine. It was wrong, she was human, he was a dragon king, and much was expected of h

She jumped and spun around startled at the sudden intrusion disrupting her quiet reverie. “I’m so sorry for startling you”, Queen Solandis apologized. Marcella smiled warmly, “You do not have to apologize Queen So…” “Oh quit with the Queen this and that. It is Solandis to you Marcella”, Queen Solandis cut her off. Queen Solandis stood erect, in her all-white attire and silvery grey hair, she didn’t wear a crown, the only piece of jewellery was a small padlock pendant hanging off a gold chain. She looked very much like a ghost, the only thing missing was a night sky. She was flagged on two sides by two royal guards. She spoke again, “I know I look like a demon from the depths of Hades or like a ghost as some people would prefer…”, she smiled slyly, “I have good cause to look like this however, but what reason do you have Marcella? You do not look fine to me” Marcella dropped the axe in her hand… “What are you boys doing just standing behind me like a passive statue”, Solandis sco

Raisel had noticed his sour mood since he woke from sleep, he couldn’t fathom what the problem might be. He was lost in thoughts and it was clear. She had asked a couple of times but he had played it off. “Dragomir would you please tell me exactly what’s wrong”, She asked. He began to say something but she cut him off, “And no….don’t tell me it’s nothing because it does not look like nothing” “Raisel I just want to find the stone as soo…” “Is that not what we have always wanted?”, she interjected, “Is that not the reason why we both set out on this journey in the first place? Why we have travelled through countless kingdoms and survived numerous trials. We want the same…” “I know that Raisel, I just want to find this immediately…” “Where did this newfound seriousness sprout from?”, she asked. He shook his head, “You see it right?, It is crystal clear that we haven’t been putting so much work into this…” “How dare you say that! How many times have we nearly been killed trying to

It was raining with reckless abandon when they finally regained consciousness. Their eyes slowly adjusted to the room and their brains did a quick flashback to remind them of where they were. Raisel tried to move but she realized she was in bounds, she looked and saw that Dragomir was also in bounds. There were chained to a wall, their hands apart above their heads, their feet bound together... Then they saw her unstacking pots, she turned around and flashed a quirky smile at them, “You are awake!”, she paced about, “You just had one of my speciality, a sleep serum”, she said in an innocent tone of voice, “It is supposed to knock you out for a very long time…”, she added. Raisel turned to look for a window, “How long have we been here?”, she asked in a strained voice. Crystal turned back to the large pot, that before their entrance was not in the room, she set it on a stack of wood, “Two nights” “What?”, Dragomir shouted in alarm. He struggled against the bounds. They drank a lot of rum and chatted about everything and nothing. It was far into midnight and the bar was beginning to empty out. Coal didn’t have much customers to attend to, so he was able to engage them. Coal took one long sip, “It was always about the ladies when he came here” “No definitely not”, Dragomir argued. “Of course Dragomir” Raisel took a short sip and scrunched her nose in disgust at the awful taste, “Who was it, tell me?”, she bobbed up and down in her seat like an excited school girl. “First it was Esmeray…” “Oh”, she interrupted, her face fell. “Then Raisel…” “Oh shut up Coal!" Raisel tossed on her bed, and then she heard it again. She got up with a start, it was still slightly dark but a horse was neighing outside. She brushed it off and went back to sleep but she heard it again but this time it was much closer to her window. It was the early hours of the morning but if a horse was outside her window she had to check it out. She grudgingly got out of bed, it was a chilly night so she slipped on a robe and walked towards her window, she peeped outside but there was no one around or even a horse around. She thought of going outside to check but she did not want to use the door for fear of waking her mother up. Since she got back her mother had insisted on spending the night in her room cuddled up with her for fear of her running off again like the last time. It had taken her a lot to convince her mother that she and found the stone and had no plans of running away without her knowledge. Her words were not enough still until she had threatened that she might

As Raisel rode through the all too familiar streets, it hit her again, how could she forget? This was home, the home where she lived with her parents. Where she had made her first mistakes as a child, gotten her first scolding and grown into the strong woman that she was today. It was not the beautiful scenery that got to her, no this time it wasn’t perfection that Islandia was, the clouds were not excessively blue and did not look like soft foams that you wanted to reach out to and take a piece from, there were not much beautiful flowers and trees as the streets in Avalon assumed a more business-like front. Carriages and horses packed here and there, men were smartly dressed and attended to their different businesses. There were no dragons in all the wonderful colours you can imagine, in the most beautiful patterns, Avalon was dull and bereft of loud colours of any kind. Heavens forbid that you wear bright yellow or neon green, the fountain in the middle of the street did not have w

  • A DRAGON TALE    Votigern's Downfall.

Votigern had been travelling for days unending, his only lead to the heart of magic had blown up in his face. So he and his men had taken a well-needed rest. He had a huge party that left him dead drunk throughout the day. He slowly opened his eyes, he had a banging headache. He slowly walked towards the door and opened it, a guard was stationed outside, “Send my food in…with a woman of course” He nodded, “Yes sire” He slumped on the bed, and not long after there was a short knock on the door, “Come on in” “Good morning Lord Votigern”, a lady's voice greeted him. He merely grumbled his greetings. She set the tray of food on the table and walked up to him, “What do you want my Lord?” He thought about it for a while, then he turned to look at her, his eyes unashamedly travelling through the full length of her body. By his standards, she was a beautiful woman. Long brown hair, a petite face and a curvy body accentuated by the tight-fitting dress she wore and extremely tight corsets

They rode for hours unending, stopping at intervals for a short break. It was almost sunset when they arrived at the heart of the earth, the original location of Islandia where the portal once opened. They stopped their horses and got down from them. Raisel reached for the box, it was slightly heavy, she handed it to Dragomir, “I believe this belongs to you” He hesitated, “Raisel…” She shook her head, “No Dragomir, this is not debatable. This rightfully belongs to dragons, this belongs to you…”, she smiled, “And what will I do with this after all?”, she asked, “It will only put a target on my back, I do not know where or how to keep it safe…” He nodded, “Thank you Raisel, thank you so very much. I could not have done this without you” Her eyes glistened with tears, “We make quite a good team”, she smiled through the tears. And more, he said to himself. She reached for his face and cupped it, “It is time Dragomir, you did it, it is time. Time for you to do what you have promised

He got to the large doors, and the courtier stationed outside quickly acknowledged him, “Your Highness” Allerick did not bother with a reply, he stood still, his hands to his back. After a while, he turned to the man, “Can I see my father Stefan? • A DRAGON TALE    Deleria

They slowly rode into the deserted streets of Deleria. They stayed quiet for a moment observing the area. Save for the constant chirping of birds and crowing of roosters it was eerily quiet. There was no sign of human existence. “You know I was thinking”, Raisel said. “Tell me…” “The phrases, the clues we gathered…”, she trailed off, her mind preoccupied, “The clues were talking about Deleria, this is the kingdom that has lost its glory…” “….but will rise again”, Dragomir finished. They rode through the streets but there was still no sign of life. Save for the items outside the beatdown houses that humans used. “Do you think our choice of clothing has chased them inside?” He thought about it only for a while, “Yes they live in fear. Two people in leather and swords are bound to terrify them…” She nodded, “I never really thought about how or where we are to find the stone..” “If it is in Deleria we will find it. It will be hard to conceal it...”, he stated, “I have been thinkin

Raisel ran towards Dragomir’s tent, in her hands were a lot of papers. They were guards stationed outside, when they saw her they greeted her and gave way for her. When she entered the chambers, as soon as she saw him, a small smile crept on her lips. It was the cutest sight ever. He was still dressed in his royal regalia that he wore earlier, his crown had tipped slightly but it was still on his head. He laid halfway on the bed, his one leg was on the bed while the other was on the floor. He was snoring slightly, and a half-eaten apple was in his hand. She walked closer to him, her eyes lit up in admiration for this man, now she knew why he had not come to see her earlier. He was exhausted. She took the apple from his hand and set it aside. She laid the books and papers she came with on the bed. She removed his crown carefully and laid it aside. She gently roused him, “Dragomir, I need you to wake up. I have something to tell you” He mumbled some incoherent words but he did not w
