Chapter 3

ZACHARY

I was summoned by the elders of the den, Liam Westwood had suddenly barged in my room and looked worried after informing of the elder's call. Liam Westwood was my closest friend and more of a brother to me and i suspected the reason I was summoned was because of that human girl, Leah. I hadn't meant to reaveal myself like that but I was extremely worried about the deep bruise and bleeding on her ankle and she was frightened greatly by my wolf, although I suspected she knew we weren't ordinary wolves,she kept staring into my eyes with such boldness, despite the fear dripping from her,it was obvious she was a strong girl. 

  Leah's deep blue eyes never left my mind,I've never seen such unique shade before and her silver blonde hair shone so beautifully, but she was irritating and I wasn't going to give her any room for any friendship,I was done with her I helped her with her injury and now I was in trouble with the elders of the den. I stood up wore my jacket and coat, picked up my car keys and left the house, heading to the Elders Lodge Hall were I was summoned for questioning.

Immediately I entered and approached the table ,Liam was already by my side like a supportive friend and brother.I stopped and bowed respectfully to the four prominent elders guarding the Den.They were namely: Arior ,Upel ,Seerie and Jaxxi.

Arior was the feared amongst the four and he shouted almost immediately at me

" Zachary! Why has though reveal our secret to a human!"

" It wasn't intentional Humble Elders of the den"

" No!!!! We are very unhappy about this discovery and we are worried about news spreading further to the human world!!" Jaxxi boomed

I was getting very angry about this reprimanding,and I was suddenly moved to challenge them almost immediately.

" How are we supposed to control our wolves, they are also their own personality on their own and therefore emerge on their own,The human in question was wounded and was equally very observant about what was going,so technically it's not my fault!!"

 " This is our territory, Great Elders and we are supposed to stop hiding by now and be free whenever we want to change into our wolves or not!!"

 " I suggest, Great Elders that you look into that and keep us safe as that is your duty,not forgetting that am Alpha and not a child!!!"

I was raging,my fangs came out and my wolf was clawing to come out,I controlled myself and Liam held my arm with a gentle but fierce hold. I bowed to them and stormed out and went to the upper balcony.

My mind went immediately to a certain blue eyed - silver haired blonde human and I was immediately irked about it,who does she think she is roaming around the woods and getting injured like that. I kept thinking about how everything would have been normal if she wasn't in the picture,I started blaming her in my mind, but surprisingly my wolf thought otherwise and I growled at him. She was human and human were bad news to our kind.

"Zachary!!"

  

  I turned back and saw Liam running up to me panting heavily waving at me,I turned and stared at him with a bored expression on my face.

"Zachary, it's a good thing you left before your anger got the best of you"

  I just started at him and looked away, there were so many things on my mind than what the elders think of me.I turned back and walked away towards my car,got in and drove away.

LEAH

I stepped out of Lauren's car and went straight to Amelia,who was waving at me at the school's entrance,She wore a Pink top fancied with bows coupled with pink leggings with black UGGs.i looked at her strangely wondering what's with all the pink in her outfit today.

 " Amelia…What's up with the pink today?"

" Oh nothing, just felt like a princess today so hence the pink",she said with a giggle.

I smiled at her and packed up my hair with a blue scrunchie, suddenly I saw Zachary and his friend headed towards the South building,I excused myself from Amelia and ran up to talk to him,I was very determined to talk to him. Zachary couldn't just snub me like that after that incident like that,I needed answers and I was going to get them

  " Zachary Lewy!" I called out to him.

  He stopped abruptly and suddenly turned to me and leveled me with a very dark but deliciously fierce look,I blushed stupidly and waved at him. I walked towards him and put my hands forward for a hand shake, but he just looked at my hands disgustingly like it was full of flirt.

 " Am Leah Lance,I just moved into Winstonville and I'd like to talk to you privately please" I said shyly.

" If you haven't noticed Leah Lance,am busy and uninterested in supposedly private discussion,so if you'd excuse me"

 He walked around me and headed towards his friend,Liam Westwood.I knew about his best friends ; Liam Westwood had Olivia Black, Amelia had briefed me about them and I was particularly suspicious about Olivia and Zachery. I was vastly disappointed and sad,had I done something wrong to him,I just wanted to talk and probably be friends.

Amelia didn't have History with me ,so I went to class alone and it felt odd I was getting used to Amelia and her super interesting personality. As I stepped into the class ,I sat at the third row,we had desk seatmate s at Winstonville High and my Desk partner was yet to come,I opened my back pack to bring out my History notebook and my textbook when I felt a presence besides me,I looked up and saw Olivia Black, Zachary and Liam's friend. Apparently she was my desk seatmate, very coincidentally.

 I placed my books on the desk and said a feeble hi to her and she nodded and we both listened to the History lessons.

  After the lessons,she asked my name and I told her I was Leah,she asked me if anything was wrong and that she saw me approach Zachary this morning. I assured her I just wanted to talk about something concerning the lab assignment and then it suddenly clicked to me that she might also be a wolf, their facial features were so pronounce and beautiful, Olivia had the greenest eyes and lovely dark brown hair ever, she was extremely beautiful and was a werewolf,it was obvious and I wondered if everyone going to this school was a werewolf. Olivia then explained that she and Zachary were close and childhood friends and that their mothers wery close. The bell suddenly rang and I jerked up, nodded to her and left the classroom racing down the hallway. 

  I came back from school and thinking of browsing about werewolves habitat and everything about them. I dropped my bag at the kitchen counter,washed my hands grabbed two apples and ran to my room to start surfing the internet about werewolves, and I discovered something very interesting about their mates and mate bond,Was Olivia Zachary's mate??. I heard the car pull up the driveway and I knew it was my Mom,was surprised she closed from work quite early today.

I went downstairs to the kitchen to make dinner for the first time since we moved in,I grabbed ingredients to make chicken broth and corn bread when my mom entered,hung her coat over the rack, dropped her keys on the counter and kissed my forehead before heading upstairs to freshen up. I washed, chopped the ingredients and cooked a steamy delicious pot of chicken broth and got the corn bread dough baking in the oven. My phone suddenly rang,I wiped my hands with the kitchen towels and picked it up and saw Amelia on the caller's identity,I picked up the call and the first thing I heard was a drunken laughter and lot's of giggling,I smiled and said Hello.

" Hi Le Le!! Guess what? Am partying and you should be here"

" No thanks,I pass on that offer,Ammy"

" Zachary's here too ,and is getting all cuddley with Olivia,I think their a thing"

 I froze at that statement, Amelia kept slurring on the phone, but my mind wasn't Hithere anymore I kept thinking about Zachary and Olivia,I wasn't jealous or anything I was just plain disappointed at Zachary's attitude towards me. My thoughts came to a halt as I remember Amelia was still on the phone, talking. I asked if she was with someone and she said yes,I urged her seriously not to drive home drunk and neither should her partner,she assured and said goodbye and ended the call,I dropped the phone and focused on dinner I wasn't going to give up and I was going to make sure I have the much needed conversation with Zachary Lewy.
