Chapter Eighty-seven: Far Away From This Evil Place.

Rendall's eyes were on the window as he sat on his bed. He had been in the position — the same position for three days, without eating food, or even drinking water.

He turned to his right, raised his arms, and took his face to his armpit. He moved away from it in a jolt immediately, wrinkling his nose.

Rendall heaved a sigh. His smell meant nothing to him now. Helia had rejected him as her mate. He had expected to feel nothing for her but he still did. He had expected to feel the pains felt when the mate bond is broken but the only pains he felt were pains of rejection.

He had not expected it to happen after her rejection but he wanted Helia to be closer to him than ever.

"Did it not work?" Rendall muttered to him. If Helia's rejection did not work, was he supposed to be happy or sad? He had no idea. Rendall just stared into space reminiscing on every moment of Helia's rejection.
