Irene’s POV:

I stepped out of the car. In front of me was a large hall. Dressed in a cream coloured chiffon dress, my heels were very uncomfortable. Kian offered me his arm which I took.

I cleared my throat as if I was going to fight a battle. My hair was pinned. No stray strands on my face to cover the jittery expression that was resting on my face. As we walked, I was practically leaning against him. To get some support.

“I told you not to wear it, if you don’t feel like it,” he muttered between his teeth.

“I am fine.”

The truth was the opposite. But they looked so good with my outfit. Most of all, I wanted to appear like I was okay with things like that. It was a normal thing for a girl. I hated myself to be that uncomfortable. When everyone was so casual in way more high heels than me. The large hall was beaming with lights. Waiters were roaming everywhere with a tray of drinks.

It was a very strange vibe. All the people there had their style. A specific way to speak. A certain

Kian’s POV:Was it regret? No. Fear? Fear of what? My eyes were glued to the road all the way back to home. She was also silent. But I knew, and I felt it, too. That it was uncomfortable for her. I saw her confused eyes in the back mirror.Robotically, she opened the door and left the car. I did the same at the front of my corridor. The sound of her heels stomping the ground was echoing in the living room. I was sure it was hurting her feet. She was almost running. “Irene!” I shouted. I was at the centre of the living room. Beside the couch. She stopped near the staircase. When she turned, her eyes were almost bulging. “WHAT?” she shouted. “Let’s talk,” my voice was low. Almost inaudible as compared to her. I took a step or two in her direction. Her hand raised, signalling me to stop at my spot. “Say what you want to, don’t come near me.” her tone was rude. “We can’t talk if you are going to act like this,” I said, as I stopped. “Fine with me. We don’t need to talk. I will

Irene’s POV:The sky in front of me was clear. Winter was at its peak. And contrasting with lush green me down the whole view was refreshing. Away from the noise and restlessness of the city. It was peaceful. But was it giving my heart the calmness I was craving for? I didn’t know. I snuck out just to free myself from my silly thoughts. But here I was doing exactly what I had planned to avoid. Overthinking.“Is the tea not good, my dear?” I almost flinched, at her voice. Distracting my sight from the window, I forced a smile on my lips. “It’s good.” She sighed, and her eyes went in the direction where I was previously staring at.“Winters always make us a bit silent. Maybe, they encourage us to ponder about nature, life and things within it.”I took a sip of the herbal tea, and the scent of cinnamon felt good. “Winters have a vibe of sadness in them.” her wrinkled eye bulged. It showed her attention and the sign that she was addressing me. “But having a cup of tea with a person gi

Kian’s POV:As I entered the familiar entrance, I was trying to keep myself composed. Not to do anything that I was going to regret later. In my entire life, there were few times when I controlled my anger. Today, I was almost trying to resist a storm that was within me. I was feeling so angry. I had the rightto be. She made me worry too much. Anything could have happened to her. But I didn’t want to have even more stress by seeing her in tears all because of my anger. So, for the first time in my life I was trying to control myself. She was sitting in the lounge, playing with the hem of her dress. Women in navy blue colour wool dress, was the reason for all these tightened nerves of mine. I sighed. In relief? At the sight of her. As she shifted her attention to me she stood up. She was nervous, her hazel eyes had a reflection of her dress colour in it. God, It was a beautiful blend. “Hello sir! Would you like to have something?”I heard a maid greeting me. I didn’t look at

Irene’s POV:Two weeks had passed since I came from Ashwell. I was busy with my classes and ward hours. So was Kian. For some days I didn’t even see him, the whole day. Sometimes, in the mornings, we will meet at breakfast. But the conversation was just ‘good morning’. Because he would be so busy working on his Ipad. So, there was no choice left for me, except to eat in silence. I wasn’t mad at him. For acting like that. But, I wouldn’t deny I missed him. He wasn’t angry at me; I knew he was just busy. And I secretly wished he wasn’t this busy. That I wasn’t able to make eye contact with him. I missed his grins even though most of them were during his teasing session. I noticed his eyes were worn out. He was stressed about something, I didn’t know. I wanted to know. I knew he wasn’t the type to share his daily routines. His worries. But I wonder how special a person would feel, if he will break that rule for someone. He will be open to her. Expressive. What were the odds of me being

Kian’s POV:“Anything special about this place?” We were walking slowly, on a deserted road. It was silent. A less chosen path by the passengers. It was quiet. Not that I didn’t like it. But I didn’t expect it. “umm, don’t you like it? It’s quiet. away from the city lights, traffic noise.” She was walking backwards facing me. Just like an iconic movie scene, her hair flowing, dramatically.“Don’t you think it’s a little bit dangerous?” I pushed my hands in my jacket. It was cold. “Hmm. I thought you’ll find it peaceful.” The childish smirk on her face disappeared. Was she disappointed or something? Was she doing this for me?She turned and her back was facing me, now. Nervously, her fingers fondled her hair. Pushing them backwards. My hand came and caressed her hair, she turned to give me a confused look, “It's okay, your hair is okay.” I smiled, making her roll her eyes and finally smiling shyly.“Hey, I like it. I was just worried about your safety.” “Oh really? What is so spe

Irene’s POV:I felt it, the uneasiness in his body. How tense it was. It must be hard for him. That’s why I suggested, him to rest. “What are you doing?” I was still in his arms. His eyes wandered to the kitchen. “I was making something for the picnic, remember?” “Hmm,” he hummed, recklessly looking straight in my eyes.“Are you still down for it?”I asked sheepishly.“Still? You think I was,” he smirked mischievously. I just giggled in response. I was still in my dress that I wore in the morning. This dress had some memories. And wearing it made me realise how time has changed.“You came early?” he asked as he followed me in the kitchen. My hair was tied in a bun. I readjusted it to avoid it coming in front of my face. “I just skipped the classes,” I started beating the cake batter. Noah was making cheese sandwiches.“Just for the picnic?” he said, standing against the counter beside me.“Yes for the picnic, with you,” the end of the sentence was like a whisper. But I made sure t

Kian’s POV:“I am sorry.”Well, I had given myself a full lecture on reasons why I should be sorry and there was nothing wrong in saying it. I practised several times in front of the mirror.Still in the morning I felt so much change of the mind. Then again, her voice echoed in my ear and Damn, she had done some spell on me.“Uhh- yeah, I mean - it’s okay.” I stuttered. It all went wasted, because he was the one to apologise first and I lost the chance to at least say ‘I am sorry too’ in return. For some pretty strange reason he was so enthusiastic. And he was smiling like a madman.“Let's have a chat.” he said, standing beside the chair, in front of my table in my office. I had found him, standing there when I entered. I walked silently to the chair he sat opposite to me.“I am sorry, I may look so awkward,” he smiled nervously.Well he did look awkward most of the time, especially today.“Are you drunk?” I guessed.“No!! I am pretty sober.” I hummed.“I just figured out something

Irene’s POV:“Can you add a bit more- umm, salad dressing. I think he likes it like that.”“Sure Ma’am,” Noah smiled and nodded at the same time. To say I was nervous was an understatement. I had spent a good hour and a half deciding what to cook. In the end, I chose steak. Well, it was the first thing we ate together on our first date, actually a fake date. But, still I thought It would be good. Noah helped me a lot and I was very thankful to him. And now we were setting the table. It was almost done. I did dress up a bit. Or maybe a little bit more in a purple coloured silk dress with full sleeves, long enough to touch my knees. Looking at myself in the wall mirror, that was actually a mirror painting I untied my hair that was previously styled in a bun. My silver earring shook due to being hit by my strands of hair. I slid my fingers in my hair to make them look smooth. Tucking my lower lip under my teeth, I adjusted my dress that was already perfectly fine.“You should call him

Irene's POV: I am tired. So, f**king tired. I feel hot and cold at the same time. Cold sweats really running through my body. I am still limping. I fell maybe thousandth time. But I kept walking again. The sun is here, I can see. But I don't know where I am. I collapsed at the ground. I felt like I was dying. Maybe, I was. Tall trees, blocking all the sky. Maybe, it was a good view for a nature lover. But I wanted to see him so desperately. My legs ached. I lifted my body to see my lower half. My feet were bleeding. My knees were bruised. But there was more blood. As I observed more my hand reached under my dress. I was bleeding from my v*gina. My body practically hyperventilated. It could have meant many things. Was I not pregnant? But this much blood isn't common in periods. My mind drifted back to previous months. The stress made me forget that I had missed periods for two months. If I was really pregnant, then this bleeding wasn't a good sign. I felt so thirsty.

Kian's POV: “Say it again.” “W-we can't find her anywhere sir.” Rush of adrenaline. My brain stopped working. “What the f**k did you say,” I held Robert by his collar, pinning him to the wall. “You had one job. Only one. To. Look. After. Her.” I punched him violently. “AND YOU CAN'T F**KING DO THAT.” “S-sir please. We will find her.” I pushed him away. My eyes roamed through the house, hands brushing off my hair nervously. “FIND HER. OR ELSE YOU ARE DEAD.” I can't believe, I came home just after half an hour of this fight. To solve the matter. But she was nowhere. Robert came rushing into the house. And told me a story that she disappeared while running away from him. How? How can she? Was she that mad? Where is she? “All my fault, all my fault. All my fault..” my body shaking as I grabbed my head kneeling on the ground. In an instant, something clicked. And I grabbed my phone and dialled Raven's number. “Hey, kian-” “She is gone. Irene's POV: None of this would have happened, if I had just not created the drama. Or maybe I am wrong. She would have succeeded in her mission one way or another. I am abducted. Helpless. Shelterless. At her mercy. And now I recall everything in my mind, I see how I had forgot the thing I had wanted. I just wanted him. But I got distracted. My attention was diverted to her, because of my own mistake. My own insecurities. My own jealousy. Right now, I just want his embrace. His voice to tell me that everything is okay, and it is just a dream. But it's not. My body ached in pain, head heavy with an unknown weight. My jaw hurt and I got reminded by the slaps. She slapped me, hit me. Mona did that. She did all of that. She planned it, carefully and precisely. The door creaked open, and the rays of light pierced my eyes. I couldn't see accurately. But as the silhouettes of the person came nearer I saw it was Jasper. He was smiling. He slipped the package in his hand In f

Irene's POV:I was coming from the grocery when I saw Kian’s car parked. It wasn't his time to come home. I got off my car and walked to the corridor. As I entered the living room. I found him sitting on the couch. His head hung back, eyes closed.“Kian, are you alright?” Putting all the packages on the table I walked towards him. He opened his eyes to look at me. I cupped his face, hovered myself over him.“Do you feel pain?” he looked at me, for a second and then blinked. “No, I am alright.” His voice was neutral. “You came early? Did something happen?” I took the space beside him.“No, nothing happened. Everything’s fine. No video of ours is being streamed on social media.” It was a good thing. But why did it sound so bitter on his tongue?“What happened?” My voice was almost inaudible. After all the wait, to give him space. I thought it was over. We will be back to normal.“You told Raven everything?” “I did it because I thought he is your friend and he can handle it.” once agai

Kian's POV:Two weeks and a half had passed since the fight that happened. I regretted everything I said in anger. For that I tried to make up for her everytime I got the chance. Sometimes in the form of flowers, chocolates other times I helped her feeling good.Well, she didn't mention the incident again. Not that I was unaware of the mental war she must have been going through. But still, there was change. She was trying.A perfect traditional date. In a fancy restaurant. Was a good change. We never really did typical couple things, and doing this felt new. She wore a dress, sky blue in colour. I was sure, I had never seen her in this colour before. She looked ethereal and she wasn't believing even after the hundredth time I was telling her.“Maybe it's the makeup then, I mean it looks too much.” she whined.“You look beautiful, that's my final answer. No matter what you think.” I stated sternly. She rolled her eyes, amusingly. The waiter came and started serving the dishes. I loo

Irene's POV:“Mona?” I blinked. It felt like time stopped. My heart thumped harder as my eyes tried to shove the reality into my face. It was really her, but, with him?“Kian?” As I looked at his face. It was a new revelation. How a nervous Kian looks. Blood left his body. He looked pale. Eyes wide with fear? I don't know, I don't fuc**ing know. What was this witch doing here, out of all the places in his office. Near my man.The day was extremely boring at university. Some classes were cancelled. Upcoming annual fare at university was driving people crazy. It was necessary for me to participate too. So when Margret asked to join her, it didn't feel wrong. She proposed to me to hang out some more. Because, it felt boring as compared to spending rest of the day with him. So I called Robert and went home. Prepared snacks to pack for him. It was a new recipe for waffles I had discovered recently on Pinterest. I changed my outfit to a floral dress. Kian loves dresses on me, according to h

Kian’ POV:Five minutes till the meeting start. Long time to stare at the picture Irene just sent showing off her new outfit. Such a tease, deliberately blurring her face. When she knew I hated it. Another picture. her face was not blurred thank God. Hair tied in a ponytail. For so many reasons, I had grown quite liking for this hairstyle. I chuckled at the thought. “Though I’d say hi personally,” I thought it were my ears ringing because there was no way I just heard Mona. As I turned my rolling chair, I came into reality. It was her. My eyebrows pinched at the sight, not sure what to really say. She looked thinner. And for some reason she seemed calmer. Her smile looked genuine, not to mention that I knew it wasn't. “What are you doing here?” Was my question. Her outfit was surprisingly unrevealing. It looked like she was finally cleaning her shi*t or just pretending. None of it was my concern.“For the meeting, you forgot? Tatte company is in the highest sponsor category.” It wa

Irene’s POV:I watched at my outfit for hundredth time. Checking all the criterias that I had build in my mind considering it’s a not so personal dinner. I was here as his wife. Sara, Raven’s girlfriend looked friendly and bubbly. Which I didn’t see in many of Kian’s acquaintances. She was a redhead. Beautifully slaying the maroon coloured outfit. Her features were very prominent. She looked confident. Well, it was understandable since she was handling real estate business all herself. That wasn’t inherited but built by herslef. Okay, that was impressive. The table was set with all the delicious meals. I was sitting on the chair, revising all the table manners I had once learned. “My chief’s special soup,” she said as put the bowl of soup on front of me. I smiled as I dived into it.“That’s amazing” I praised genuinely. She gave me a cheeky girin. She was outgoing, that eased my anxiety a lot. I was wearing a beige coloured not so short dress. She gets really grumpy when I am late.” I said hanging my jacket on my arm.“No matter how much I try It’s really too much for me to get used to this ideal husband's behaviour.” I chuckled at Raven’s comment. “Are you really this scared of her, I mean she doesn’t looked like she would ever look horrible enough to scare the sh*t out of you.” I could see the honesty in his eyes. The truth she never looked horrible, she looked a bit scared herself. Whenever she would shout at me, I sensed the uncertainity in her eyes. Wanting to know if it did affect me. I wanted to give her the assurety that her offence did matter to me.
