When Michael appeared at the villa with toys he had bought for Travis, the boy was crying on Christina’s shoulder. Tears streamed down like a waterfall as he sobbed. Michael bolted forward. “What’s the matter? Why is Travis crying?” Travis wiped his tears as he saw Michael. Then, he then ran to his bedroom to take his water blaster and aimed it at Michael. “You’re a bad guy. Leave. Momma and I don’t want to see you!” Michael was drenched the moment he was about to utter something. With an angry face, Travis aimed the water blaster at him. “Bad guy. Hurry up and leave. I’ll shoot you if you don’t leave.” Although Michael was clueless, he could see that Travis was frustrated. The kid had no ulterior motives, so he just did what he wanted to do, and now, he was hostile toward Michael. “What happened?” Michael shifted his gaze to Christina. “Rachel made a scene just now, she told Travis about your relationship to him.” Christina smiled bitterly, and up until now, she did not
“Michael, what happened to you?” Heather was bemused, but Michael stood up and pushed Heather to the study room with him. Michael then closed the door and sighed. “Mom, Travis knows that I’m his father.” “Isn’t this a good thing?” Upon hearing this, Heather was on cloud nine. “When are you going to bring him home?” “Bring him home? Mom, how could you think this is a simple thing?” Bitterly, Michael smiled. “Travis hates me for abandoning them. He took his water blaster and aimed it at me. He said I’m a big liar, too.” Michael could not go on because Travis’s angry expression and voice were lingering in his mind. Words could not describe how he felt. “It’s all because of Christina. If she had told Travis about the truth early, would he look at you like you’re his enemy?” Heather looked at her son’s desperation, and of course, she blamed everything on Christina. “Mom, it has nothing to do with Christina. Now I know why Christina wouldn't let me meet with Travis, not because she
Michael sighed quietly upon detecting the hostility in Travis’s eyes. “Where’s Christina?” “She left to get groceries,” Francis replied. “Uncle, don’t speak to the big fat liar. Get him out of here quick!” Travis pointed at Michael, his little face twisted in anger. “You better leave now to prevent further aggravating the boy. He can’t take any more of this!” Michael dared not infuriate his son more so he turned around and left the living room. He planned to wait for Christina outside of the villa. A brief moment later, he heard a commotion behind him. He looked over his shoulder to see Travis chucking the things he bought out of the house. The little boy could not carry all of the things at once so he made three separate trips before he threw everything Michael bought on the floor. Then, when he was done, he slammed the door shut behind him. Michael forced a smile. The little boy had definitely inherited his mother’s bad temper. He bent down to pick up everything Travis
Christina saw Michael standing by the door by the time she returned from grocery shopping. There were several bags filled with food and toys left on the floor. She knew what happened without having to ask. “Travis is not taking this well at the moment. You should visit another time.” “Christina, I want to talk to you. Properly,” Michael pleaded. “About what?” she asked. “About Travis. About us.” “You saw it yourself that he’s reluctant to see you. As for us, there’s nothing left to talk about.” Her words were laced with indifference. “Christina, you mentioned you don’t want my apologies anymore and neither do I. What I want to say is we should get back together and get married right away for the sake of our children.” “Have you lost your mind?” “No, I’ve thought it through. Travis is rejecting me now because he thinks I abandoned the two of you. I want to change his impression of me.” “You want to get back together with me to change his impression of you?” she scoffed
Christina interrupted, “Michael, your mother’s not one to keep her word. You probably shouldn’t take her promises seriously.”“It’s serious this time. You don’t have to worry about her. I won’t let her affect you either.”Michael expressed his desire eagerly. “Christina, you’re expecting now. Travis was born without a father. Do you want the same for this child too?” She remained silent for a while before replying. “I’ll try talking to Travis but he’s not really your biggest fan right now. As for us, I think it’s better to leave it and just go with the flow.” He had nothing more to say after that. He could not rush into solving the conflict with her because she was greatly discouraged after all the pain. It was not something he could resolve with a few simple words. It was more important right now to stop Travis from disliking him. Matthew drove to the hotel Rachel was staying. She was delighted to see him. “Matthew, I’m surprised to see you here.” “Rachel!” He glared at her
“I really couldn’t spare the time.” Serena was reluctant to meet Rachel. Her mother had told her to be extra cautious at this time and avoid inviting trouble. Naturally, she needed to be careful. “Miss Garcia, I have something important to talk to you about. Let me remind you that it’ll be your loss if you refuse to meet me. This might even cause you to lose Michael forever.”Hearing this made Serena uneasy. Was Rachel speaking the truth or was she simply trying to frighten her? Would she really miss out on crucial information if she refused to meet her? Rachel thought it was strange that Serena was hesitating. What was she afraid of?Finally, Serena chose to meet with Rachel in a coffee shop near the Garcias’ residence. Rachel hurried there as quickly as possible but Serena was still nowhere in sight. She was rather annoyed. What was Serena playing at? The coffee shop was right across her doorstep but she still did not show up on time? She was still annoyed when Serena walked th
Christina had been pregnant for quite some time now, so Rachel thought this was already a piece of common news. It appeared that Heather had kept Serena in the dark. “Miss Garcia, Christina’s expecting again. If this baby is brought into the world, then she would have two children with Michael. Are you following me?”Serena was dazed for a long time, trying to digest the news of Christina’s pregnancy. This was shocking. She was still overjoyed about her own pregnancy when suddenly this news hit her like a bombshell.‘Christina, why do you always have to go against me?’Rachel smiled at her. “Miss Garcia, I come here today to discuss a perfect solution with you.”“What do you have in mind?” Serena was brought back to reality. Her cheeks burned from having embarrassed herself in front of Rachel earlier. She was not experienced enough in comparison. Rachel was about the same age as her but she was already an astute, sly fox.First, she had to verify if the news of Christina’s preg
“Winona?” Michael was taken aback. He had suspected that Winona could be Suzy’s mother, but Suzy denied that herself. If so, why did she stay in touch with the woman so often? There was something fishy about this. The more Michael thought about Suzy ringing up Christina to lie to her, the more uneasy he felt. He tried suppressing his emotions as he described what happened the night Suzy invited him out for dinner. “What do you think?”“Suzy did that?” Logan was evidently surprised. He spent quite a fair amount of time with her in the past and had a good impression of her. He found it difficult to believe something like this happened out of the blue.“Christina doesn’t lie. Suzy must’ve rung her up. What do you think her motive is?”“Is it possible that Suzy… was bribed by Madam?” Logan asked tentatively.“That’s what I thought too, but what’s the reason she forced me to get drunk? To provoke Christina so she would leave?” Michael reckoned that was too much fuss if it was just for
