Confused, Yara threw another glance at Christina. Why would Matthew bring his assistant to the dinner date?

She was slightly displeased but could not find a good reason to voice her annoyance. Her gaze toward Christina turned suspicious.

Christina was not an insensible person. She too felt awkward for becoming Yara’s target when she had done nothing wrong. Matthew was truly cunning to put her through this. If she knew, she should not have been so eager about this last night.

Not long after they settled down in the private room, the dishes were served. Perhaps Matthew did this intentionally but he kept placing more food onto Christina’s place while he was still affectionate toward Yara. “Assistant Williams, I remember this being your favorite. Have some more.”

She felt the coldness in Yara’s eyes once the man said this. The corners of her lips twitched into an embarrassed smile. “You remember wrongly, President Henderson. I don’t like to eat this but they are Miss Yara’s favorite…”
