Eighty-One

The screaming continued, unabated. Olivia wanted to clutch something and hold on tightly for dear life until she remembered she was incarcerated and surrounded by emptiness. She felt a mixture of anger and sadness so great, it was almost indescribable.

The door unlocked and Maya rushed in, looking concerned. "Olivia! Are you okay? Why are you screaming?"

I...h-had a nightmare."

Olivia whimpered and Maya crouched beside her and pulled her in for a hug, stroking her hair comfortingly. "Tell me what it was about," she asked gently.

"Penelope," Olivia said with a shaky voice. "It was about Penelope. I killed her in the dream."

"Penelope's death has made her deeply entrenched within your mind," Maya said soothingly. "That's all it's about, try to get some rest,"

"I can't!" Olivia bursted out. "Maybe I had that dream because Penelope's soul is not at rest. She knows…"

"Knows what?" Maya urged.

"That Titan murdered her in cold blood," Maya's hand froze in between her hair strokes.
