Elizalde

.

"I'm so excited about this!" Mom exclaimed, "I want to meet her," she continued.

I heaved countless times, and I couldn't figure out what I would wear.

"Let me help you, son."

She slightly pushed me away from the wardrobe, and there she went again. My hands are on my hips, and I shake my head as I look behind her.

Who wouldn't love to see their mother looking lively like this?

I love my mother. She's my ultimate supporter in business and love. She hated all the women I'd dated for years and only wanted Elizabeth for me. This tradition was an agreement they'd made with her best friend. . . Elizabeth's mom.

I wouldn't say I don't like her because Elizabeth was a lovely woman. We had a good start back then. I got to know her likes and dislikes, her favorites and everything. We always had Sunday lunch on our farm, and we had fun. But those were the days of good memories. She's not a nice woman and not an ideal wife. But because my mother is sick, I have to do everything for her.

After her chemotherapy, her health bounced back. I need to fulfill one of her wishes. She wants to see me settle with Elizabeth before she passes away.

And looking at her now, you wouldn't notice that this woman has been through a lot of hell fighting for her dear life.

"I want you to look perfect in Lizzie's eyes. That girl has grown up so beautiful, like her mother." Her eyes beamed.

"This one looks good on you. Perfect!" She said while measuring the clothes on my body.

"Come on. Get change!" she ordered.

I sighed, and my jaw clenched. It's time to put on a good show. After all, Elizabeth could no longer turn me down. Whether she likes it or not, she has no choice.

AT THE EL Del Real Tower.

I wonder what expression she will have once she sees me. I can't wait.

It took me two hours to decide which attire to wear until I settled on a formal one that Mom chose. I'm feeling anxious. It's not me. It's not like I haven't seen Elizabeth for a decade.

Our last conversation was ten years ago when she was only fifteen and I was twenty. It wasn't a conversation because we were fighting, and I felt cheated until today. After that, I kept my distance and looked at her from afar.

I paced, walking back and forth in front of Donatello. I'd been waiting for this moment, and finally, she could no longer escape from me.

Damn it. Why do I feel so tense?

"How do I look?" I asked Don, and he nodded. Not so interested.

"Chill up, Zalde. It's not like you two are going on a date."

"Of course not! And that will never happen," I quoted, earnestly looking at him.

His eyebrow lifted. "I supposed," he smirked. I need to convince. "But you are excited," he continued.

I stopped pacing and looked at him. Donatello and I are the same height, but I have a broader chest than him regarding body build.

I worked out a lot, both indoor and outdoor activities. I have my routine, and I'm with the boys in the Wranglers Boys Club on weekends. We hang out every weekend on whatever adventure we plan. I have yet to introduce Donatello to them. Soon, I will. This is part of our deal.

"Yes, I'm fucking excited to see her. I can't wait for my revenge, Don. You will see," I said, and he just shook his head.

"I hope you don't regret this, Zalde."

"I have no regrets."

"Do you wanna bet?" he challenged.

"I have my confidence, Don. I don't need to bet," I answered, and he laughed.

"You will lose, Zalde, and end up in tears again."

I smirked. "Like what happened to you and Sasha?"

The smile on his face faded. Dammit. I didn't mean to say it, as it quickly slipped out of my tongue. I have to remind myself that this cousin of mine is sensitive.

"Point taken," he said, raising his pointy finger, "don't forget my commission, and I can't wait to see the boys," he reminded me.

"Sure," I nodded, feeling apologetic.

He stood up, fixed his necktie, and looked at the time on his wristwatch. He gives me a silly smile afterward, and I shake my head.

"Okay, I'll go ahead. Relax, take a deep breath." He patted my shoulder and winked at me.

I shake my head. "Don't be silly."

"I'm not. But I'm happy to see you smiling like this. That facial expression reminds me of the old days. . . the day you first fell in love with Elizabeth," he said, and ran towards the door, out from here.

My hand fisted, looking at him, running away from me.

Dammit. That lunatic.

Lizzie

 .

For whatever reason, I felt like I would pee in my pants soon!

I kept going back and forth to the toilet as I arrived early. I should have at least eaten the breakfast that Emma prepared. Now my tummy rumbles, and it's obvious. I'm hungry. I only had coffee.

Since returning from my long vacation, I have not been home. I hate seeing Snow and my stepmother. Snow and I haven't discussed it, as I ignore her. And who cares! She and Kristoff can fuck off.

My stepmother was back again on the record with her social life image. I also heard that Dad cut off her shopping expenses, and she went mental. She has no choice because the new owner manages more than half of the company's shares. Still, Dad owns less than half of the claim. That was better than losing the entire company.

"Do you want me to get you anything, Miss Elizabeth?" one of the staff offered, very friendly to me.

"A coffee would be lovely. Thank you," I politely answered.

She smiles and nods. "Sure. . . Mr Donatello Miranda will be here shortly."

"Thank you," I responded.

I took a deep breath and composed myself. I've been wondering what sort of demand Mr. Miranda wants. I hope it's not my body. I can't sell mine.

Ugh, what am I thinking? I don't think he's a bad person.

Emma told me from a review that Mr Miranda was a retired detective abroad and is now settling for his businesses in Asia. He also got an island resort in the country, half a dozen, and a few hotels with different names. Dad knows more about the details. I will meet him tomorrow at home. He rang me early this morning, wishing me good luck and inviting me for dinner tomorrow night.

Oh well, good luck to me! I will cater the best service to Mr Miranda as an heir of Amantes Builders.

"Thank you," I said to the staff as soon as my coffee was served.

The beautiful coffee scent gives me a calming feeling. I love coffee, especially cappuccino and latte.

I took a sip, and then I heard the door open. So I stand up and look at him. He cleared his throat and smiled at me.

"Good morning, Miss Elizabeth Amantes. Sorry for keeping you waiting," he formally said and smiled.

"Not a problem, Mr Miranda. Thank you for trusting us. It's a pleasure to meet you," I said, offering my hand for a handshake.

He looks at my hand and then at me. He seems young to be a retired detective. I expect an age of around sixty, but I'm surprised because he looks only in his forties. He took my hand, and he signaled for us to sit back. I sat down feeling confident.

He formally introduced himself and gave me a little information about his company. He's got a personality that kept me listening to him, and slowly, I got to understand him.

He seemed to be talking not as the company's owner but as a representative. And I was right.

"I'm sorry for the long introduction routine, Miss Amantes. I hope I didn't scare you?" He teases me, and I laugh.

After all, I find him trustworthy in all aspects. He is genuinely a detective. And perhaps a psychologist? Who knows? He's an expert in finding a person's key points and weaknesses. That's probably how he got my father's approval so quickly.

"So, who is your boss? And what are his demands?" Curious, I asked. I even bit my inside cheek while smiling at him.

He paused for a second and drank his cold drink. Then, he formally stood up, and so did I.

I composed myself again and smiled.

"I will open the door for him. He's been listening to our conversation from the other room."

His hand signals to the door that is just behind me. I moved backward and nodded at him. He walks towards it. I pressed my lips together and inhaled in silence. Then the door opened.

I looked at his shoes first.

Neat, expensive, well polished. He's a dignified, clean freak.

Then my eyes slowly climb onto his black pants all the way up.

Its dark and compelling, clean cut, jet black hair, eyes like a hawk, chiseled face, perfect nose, and kissable lips are beautiful. But then, my heart hammered when our eyes met.

Oh, God, my goodness.

Elizalde . Okay, let's start the real deal. I composed myself, and Donatello opened the door for me. He winked, and I swallowed hard. I've heard all their conversation. This room was built to have a secret room for hearing conversations on the other side. This is where most of my business deals happen whenever I want to do a background check before signing them into our business. When our eyes met, I immediately felt an electrifying feeling inside me. Dammit. Why do I feel this every time I see her? I want to get it out of my system. Our eyes locked. Her deep brown eyes met my blue ones. My jaw tightened as I stepped inside, and she blinked in astonishment when I stopped a meter in front of her. Donatello cleared his throat and introduced me to her. She didn't say a word. Not even a single smile on her face. She remains the same. When I sat down, she turned on her back and took a deep breath. I can feel her tense, which gives me a silver lining of hope. Lizzie . I got home feeling defeated, but I will never give up. I will show him what I got. There's no way that he will win this. I have tried to escape all the means to marry him, yet here I am in this war again. It's not yet over, Elizalde! "I can't believe this, dad! Why did you lie?" I looked at my father, desperately looking for answers. "I-I didn't know what was happening. I swear." He raised his right hand, looking at me innocently. Okay, I believe my father. There's no way he will agree to this. "I didn't know what are you talking about, my dearie. Is there something wrong with your meeting with Mr Miranda? What are his demands?" I look at him suspiciously and grab his cold drink. I drink the whole bottle. I need to wake up from this dream. I hope this is just a dream, but it's not. It's a freaking nightmare! I swallowed hard, took a deep breath, and then faced him. "Dad, the owner of the winning bid was no other than Elizalde El Del Real." He blinked in astonishment

But, unfortunately, it looks like your wedding will happen soon before his." Nathaniel chuckled. He looked at Nestor jokingly. "Everyone has its own time, you idiot!" Neo wrapped his arms around Nathaniel's neck, and the young idiot almost choked. Everyone laughs. It was evident Nathaniel was only acting, a character of him. "Cheers for you, bro!" Nestor raised his glass of wine formally, "Congratulations," he continued. "It's not yet final, and I don't want a celebration." I opposed. I have a terrible feeling that something will happen sooner or later. However, reading Lizzie's behavior yesterday, she cannot quickly agree. So, although I am confident with a fifty-fifty chance of winning, I still have to take precautions. It's too early for a celebration. "Who's the lucky girl?" Neo asked. He's the t

Lizzie . I hate him! My body slumps into the mattress, and my face touches the pillow. Why is it too hard to accept that I got defeated and have to accept his offer? I couldn't bring myself to give my answer in front of him. I can't swallow my pride. It's embarrassing. "Why does it have to be Lizzie, Dad? If I only had known that it was Elizalde El Del Real, I would have come forward for the deal." "You are not what Elizalde wants, Snow. He only wants Lizzie, and there's nothing I can do. I'm thankful that an El Del Real saved the company from going down." "Even so, dad. I can change Elizalde's decision regarding the woman he wants to marry. Ugh, he's got no class in choosing a bride. What did Lizzie say? Did she accept it?" "I don't know. I will talk to her tonight." "Don't force Lizzie if she doesn't want to, Dad. I'm here. I am willing to be a bride for Elizalde. I'm ready." Lizzie . Seeing Elizalde's mother in a condition, I didn't expect this big blow. She lost a lot of weight. She's in a battle for something about her health. It's still the same personality as what I remembered. Full of life and inspiration. "You know what? I used to keep every recipe of your mother in my diary. So I told Elizalde that I'm keeping them for you. And if the two of you will have kids, I want to cook for them. I hope I am still alive if that happens." Her eyes twinkled as she smiled at me. I smiled back with sincerity. I adore and understand now why she was away for many years in America. It has something to do with her cancer treatment. "Thank you," I politely said when she gave me the lemon ginger tea she had made from scratch. I tasted it. The scent reminds me of my mother, and the warmth provides a beautiful feeling that reminds me of yesterday. We both look at the garden through the glass window of this kitchen. We were quiet. Lizzie . What a stunt! And what do I expect? Of course, he's an El Del Real, and everyone wants to know the lucky girl Elizalde will marry. I thought it was going to be simple, but I was wrong. When I signed the papers and stepped out of his car, all the cameras flashed, and my life turned into a fairytale. "Mr. Elizalde, is it true that Elizabeth Amantes will be your wife? When is the wedding? How did the two of you meet?" one of the reporters asked, and many more. Elizalde smiled and just nodded at them. He didn't say anything, but it was apparent. All the news reporters and showbiz paparazzi were following him. Even at the grand opening of his new hotel resort, they didn't stop. My face was all over the media, showbiz TV, and whatever social media. They're digging into my life. About what I was in the past, which school I've been to, what degree I had finished, and what kind of family I have. It was a disaster, worse than I expected. I didn't like this. I'm not into this. Lizzie . For better, for worse. . . I do hope it's all for the better. Because here I am, facing my worst nightmare! For richer, for poorer. . . For richer, I guess. I agreed to this deal because my father's business needs Elizalde's wealth. And here I am, being a bitch gold digger like those nasty comments I read on the internet earlier, saying that if not for Elizalde's money, I wouldn't tie the knot with him this easy. Damn, that was harsh and absolutely the truth. In sickness and in health. . . Oh well, at least I can assure him I will care for him if he gets sick. I don't care about his health! Till death do us part. . . Yes, until hell do us part! "Elizalde El Del Real, you may now kiss your bride," Judge Suzanne speaks. Her lips pressed together, holding a simple smile while looking at the two of us. I looked at Elizalde, and my knees were shaking. Is he going to do the kiss like he did earlier? Damn him! "Who else knows aside from Emma?" I smirked and walked past her. I'm half drunk. That's how I celebrate today's event. My body landed on the soft couch. I loosen up my tie and undo a few buttons on my top. "And where have you been?" in her calmer voice. "I want Mimi here. It's boring and scary on my own." Boring and scary? Is she kidding me? Our eyes locked, and now my vision clouded. I smile. I want to smile because I finally got the woman I want to have with me. I got the woman who inflicted so much hatred on me. I got her, okay? But why the hell still I miss her? She's here standing in front of me like beauty and hell. I want her. I want to kiss and

Lizzie . As time passes, everything falls into place for us. Spending time with Elizalde and our loved ones has been an absolute joy. It's a fact that things are constantly evolving and changing, but these changes work out in our favour. It's partially true that your life will turn into what you want in a good way. You must let go of the people who bring negativity to your life. You don't want them to ruin you. My father has settled his way back to where he wanted. He doesn't wants me to get worried about him. He wants to go around the globe and enjoy his retirement. I heard from Don that he is now in a property somewhere closer to home. I'm okay with it as long as he is happy. Elizalde and I settled really well here in Shepperton. Although the weather is cold in Winter, we tend to escape the frosty season and stay somewhere on the Gold Coast. We bought a small property not so close to the beach but within walking distance. Elizalde's mother was doing well after her chemotherapy.

Lizzie . I couldn't believe it. We are in Italy! "Come on, Lizzie. Don't give me that look, love." Elizalde chuckled and grabbed my hand. It's not that I don't like this. But I am thankful for the little changes. It was right at the immigration board that I realised that we were not boarding to Australia. We are going to Italy, spend a few weeks there and then move to Australia. I didn't sleep well all the way here as I couldn't believe it. The food was good inside the aircraft, but I crave the foods I miss. "Can we stop at the La El Merita?" I can't hide my excitement. It's a local restaurant closer to where Elizalde's place. I love every dish on their menus. "Sure, love. Let's get home first, and Rhys will grab and order it for us." "Okay." I nodded and waited patiently. Travelling from the city primary down to Sorrento shorts was pretty decent. But when we started walking up to Elizalde's house on an inclined surface, I felt the weight was on me. "This is not good for pr

Lizzie's POV . My brows furrowed, and my lips twisted in dismay after hearing Snow's interview. She was obviously jealous, but at least she didn't criticise us in front of the reporters. It was a forced smile like she was holding a grudge against me. The backlash of comments online about why we didn't invite Snow and her mother was harsh. But others understand the situation as it was a surprise. A lot of people noticed, too, that my father wasn't around with my Stepmother. It made me realise that their divorce wasn't publicly announced, and now the public is digging again like scavengers in our life. "Oh, God! When are they going to leave you in peace!" Emma flicked her hair behind her shoulder and shook a head. She made some cheesecake for me, which I love to eat at the moment. Now that Emma is here, the house smells good because of her baking expertise. Tomorrow night is our flight, and Elizalde is at his mother's place, fixing some stuff as his mother asked him to do somethi

The threatening look that could kill a bird but can't catch them. "You don't have to remind me that. Your cat will only come to me for a treat." She pouted, looking at the furry being beside her. Emma will be staying at our residence for the time being. This is what Elizalde and I had decided. No one will be looking after our place as we are going overseas. Don temporarily occupies Elizalde's penthouse, and Emma will stay in our house. It's good, anyway. This will save Emma money from renting. "Just keep everything tidy, and water all the plants around the garden." I pressed my lips together. "Okay. No problem. The gardener can

A guttering pain pierced inside my chest is buried deep inside me. And no matter how hard I try to calm my senses, there's no way I can get it out of me. I gritted my teeth, trying to control the tears not to fall. Lizzie smiled slightly like an angel, and her eyes were shut while offering a small prayer. It hurts like hell. A type of feeling that covered the whole of me. I felt guilty, broken and useless at times like this. There's no point in talking to the Gods because I can never return what I have lost. "I wonder if we are having a boy or a girl?" Lizzie's eyes beamed with excitement. She's now facing me, and her lips pouted. "It doesn't matter what it is, love. A girl or a boy. I want it to resemble you." I tucked her hair back to her ear, and she giggled slightly. "Oh? But I want it to look like you. If it's a girl, then she will

Emma was smiling while waiting for me outside the car. Next to her is Elizalde's driver, Mr Kim, our chaperon for today. "Thank goodness you came back okay. I was about to get inside, you know." But then, what really made me smile was the drawing that came with the message. It's a drawing of two hearts engraved on the sandy beach. There's a saying in the background that says: Love will keep us alive through eternity. The penmanship surrounding it was way back when she was only secondary, and I was at college. I was crazy with her at that time, in love and stupid. She was my world, and I couldn't live a single day without her. And even now, Lizzie is still my everything. I hurriedly walked towards the garden. That's where she wants to see me. She's probably waiting there for me. I was right. She's standing on her back while adoring the fountain's li

Despite this, I immediately stepped down from the board of directors meeting. The safety and well-being of Lizzie are of the utmost importance to me, and I cannot forgive myself if anything were to happen to her. I was extremely concerned and anxious. "I'll discuss it with you tomorrow, Zalde." Don sighed in the line, and I gritted my teeth. "Thanks for that, man. See you soon. Bye." After concluding the call, I resumed driving. Lizzie remained silent by my side throughout the journey. I stole a glance at her and noticed her stillness. Her gaze was fixated on the road, mirroring my own. I will discuss this matter once we reach home. I held the car door open for her and silently led her to the kitchen. Once there, she started up the coffee machine with the intention of making a cup for me. I rested my body against the counter and held my arms together unde

I motioned towards one of the staff members stationed nearby, and she promptly acknowledged my signal. “Can I have a fresh orange juice, please? Thank you.” The staff nodded and trailed off. Kristoff cleared his throat while looking at the drink he had ordered for me. “Sorry, Kristoff, I can no longer consume strong coffee blends. I am only permitted to have decaf, and I already had one cup this morning. I cannot handle another one.” He sighed and nodded a little. “That’s alright. I’m sorry. I forgot that you are pregnant.
