Dan’s POV

“Hey!” I shouted. “I know you don’t have any regard for me but just shut your lying tongue or I will cut it out. I never put you in danger. Since I shed your identity to the other guys, how many attempted murders has occurred?”

“It was only yesterday,” Mark replied calmly. “No one knows if I will be killed tomorrow. You don’t understand how things works here. I can see the reason why your father does not trust you. You might be the end of this organization.”

I slapped him. I knew he could have moved before then but he stood there, breathing hard. I was scared he would punch me but he only stood there. I was the one who slapped him but I was the one afraid. Sammie was still in the room and I could not bear to act like a weakling.

“Listen up!” I shouted at him. “I am not a perfect human and no one is perfect. If I am lacking, you tell me instead of telling me I am not capable. Do you know how much it hurts? You should know already.”
