**Evelyn** My mother had died when I was 17. That was about 6 years ago. The only thing Father told me was that she was in a car crash. When I asked him if he thought it was planned, he stayed silent. I then asked who he thought it was. Father told me he didn't know. As I stared at the video on replay before me, my anger began to rise slowly and my hand clenched tighter around the device. I didn't know who had sent me the video but I would be forever grateful to them. They'd just made my goals much clearer; Take Killian Bandini down, even if it meant going with him. I would have called my father and demanded to know why he had kept this from me but I couldn't. The anonymous person also said that Killian has tapped my phone before giving it back to me. That was why they had used an encrypted email and why I was grateful for the news I was currently hearing. “Mrs Bandini?" The maid asked, hesitantly. I raised my head up and placed my phone face down as I looked her in the eye. “What is it? What were you saying?" I asked her. I didn't have the patience for this. I was boiling inside. I was angry at myself for letting Killian touch me the way he did last night, angry at myself for even letting my body respond the way it did. “Mr Bandini said to tell you to see him in his office right now. He said to be quick," the maid relayed the message from my murderer husband as she shifted on her heels. I nodded and then looked at the clock by my bed. “I see," I murmured before looking back at her with a smile. “What's your name?" “Eloise, ma'am," she replied. “Eloise…what a beautiful name. Would you mind getting me a glass of wine, Eloise?" I asked. She opened her mouth to say something but I cut her off with a sharp look. Nodding, she rushed out of the room. Seconds later, she was back trembling while holding my glass of wine. I grabbed it from the tray and swirled it in the glass. “Ma'am, Mr Bandini said to tell you to come quickly. He said and I quote,"Tell her that she should be here in the next 30 seconds or I swear she'll regret it.’” Sighing, I sip the wine then look back at Eloise, “You can go tell Mr Bandini that I am not his dog, I'm his wife and either he asks politely or he gets his arrogant ass up here and talks to me. Now shoo.” Eloise's lower lip trembles as she nodded and walked out of the room. I lay back and rest my leg on the table. Killian is going to learn to respect me while his servants learn to fear me. I've come to take and take I will. “Wow!" A male voice said. I looked beside me to see Caleb standing at the doorway with a look of awe, fascination and was that respect? “What? Did my husband send you?" I asked, looking back to my front and taking another sip of my wine. “He did infact but I'm here for a complete different reason." “Which is?" “To pay my respects of course. Killian almost never loses his cool and now you come and make him do it so effortlessly. I'm impressed. Teach me your ways, Evelyn," Caleb said, walking in. I smirked as I set my wine glass down. “Well, what is the purpose of a wife if not to bring out her husband's truest emotions, is that not right?” "It is. But what do you gain from all of this?” I smile as I look down at my wine glass then back up at Caleb."What Killian hopes to gain.” Caleb looked taken aback before schooling his expression. “Becareful then, sister in law, your husband is unpredictable. I suppose you are too. But keep in mind that fire does not put out fire.” "We'll see,” I smirked. Just then, the door to the room slammed open and Killian stepped inside. I could swear the atmosphere in the room changed. “Leave us," Killian said. I could feel his glare on the side of my skull as I sipped my wine peacefully. Caleb stood up and gave me a mock bow. “Goodluck, Evelyn." “I hope to see you soon, Caleb," I said, smiling at him. Contrary to Killian's persona, Caleb was very nice. He seemed like the type the saying ‘green snake in green grass' referred to. I liked him. Caleb walked out, shutting the door closed behind him, leaving only my husband and I. For a minute or two, silence reigned with only the sounds of our breathing filling the room. I sighed as I raised my wine glass to my lips and took another sip. “I called for you," Killian finally said, uncrossing his arms and stalking towards me. “And I didn't come. Like I said, I'm your wife, not your dog. You will respect me," I said, dropping the wine glass down and looking up at him. He'd stopped directly in front of me and now, I could practically see the anger radiating off him in waves. I wonder what got his panties in a twist. “Haven't we cleared this up, Eve? You are my wife only on fucking paper. You have no wifely duties or rights hence you cannot assert your position as my wife," he replied. "I can and I will. I will not let you walk all over me. Now I suggest you tell me what you're here for.” "Listen and listen good, okay? You're my wife only by name. We have no further relations apart from that. When I call, you come. When I say jump, you ask how fucking high. I let you get your way once, take that as a victory and be happy. I will not give you any more than that.” "You didn't LET me get my way. You said I had to earn it and I did. And you still haven't given me anything to do. Also, I'm not your pet. Treat me with respect. You will give me more than that and everything else I ask for.” I yelled. I breathed in and out then picked up my wine glass and downed the whole thing. Killian ran a hand through his hair before turning to me with rage filled eyes. Next thing I knew, his hand was wrapped around my throat and my chest was pressed against his. Killian lowered his head as his lips crashed onto mine in a possessive kiss. He tightened his grip on my neck, forcing me to open my mouth slightly in order to get air which gave him the opportunity to slip his tongue into my mouth. Killian was tasting me. His tongue and mine fought for domination before I finally bit his bottom lip, drawing a bit of blood. I felt his lips widen as he pushed his lip into my mouth, forcing me to taste his blood. Killian moved his lips to my neck where he placed a tender kiss, staining my skin with his blood. Looking back up at me, his eyes were a mix of sinister and something I couldn't place my finger on, he said, “Immediately I leave this room, some maids are going to come in and you'll pick out a pretty dress then get dolled up for me. There's going to be a ceremony honoring me—the Capo-Pakhan—and you, my wife. Be a good girl and remember, you're my wife in public and enemy in private.” Then he pushed me away and stalked out.Sorry, my lovelies. I've been down with a fever the past few days so I haven't been able to write but I'm better now thank God!! Hope you enjoy the new chapter! Sharing is caring, so please share this book to your reader friends(•ө•)♡
**Evelyn**Just like Killian said, some maids had come into the room with a rack of clothes and a makeup artist accompanying them. I glared at them as they set up their things and began racking through dresses for me. I wasn't one that liked being controlled. And I sure as fuck did not like compromising. Killian was stepping on all ten of my toes and he knew it. I released a deep breath as my phone vibrated in my pocket and I picked it up to see another email from the anonymous person.'Go to the party. There is a package waiting for you there. From now on, we work together. I want to take Killian down too and we can succeed but only if we work together.’ I read it hurriedly as my fingers tightened around the phone screen. I raised my head up to ensure none of them had seen the email and then I cleared my throat.“Let me see my options," I said, turning to the maids standing beside the clothing rack. They both looked at each other with wide eyes. I chuckled, knowing they expected a f
**Evelyn**I hadn't seen or spoken to father since the day I found out he had never trusted me with the Bratva or family business. Since the day I realized nothing I did for this man would ever be enough. Looking at him now, he looked like he'd gotten 10 years older when it has in fact only been less than a month.“Evelyn," Dad called again, moving his hand from my shoulder to my face and I turned away from him."Father, it is a surprise seeing you here,” I said, facing forward. By now, I could see the people throwing us subtle glances and I sighed. “Take a seat, Father. I can't have any bad press around me."Father sighed as he took the seat beside me and I completely ignored him. My eyes constantly drifted to the bottle of wine beside Killian. He had his hand wrapped around the bottle and he shot me a warning glare when he noticed me staring.Soon, a familiar couple walked up to us. The man looked stoic while the woman was all smiles. They were accompanied by a young girl about my a
16 years ago Los Angeles, California Killian °♪♥° °♪♥° °♪♥° “Do you, Anastasia Giovanni, take Diablo Armont as your lawfully wedded husband to love in sickness and health, in poverty and wealth?” The priest asked. My mother stood with a smile so bright it could rival the sun as she nodded. "I do,” she answered. Mother loved this man. Even though I didn't. I hated him. He wasn't a good man. He was good to Ma but he wasn't to me. "Do you, Diablo Armont, take Anastasia Giovanni as your lawfully wedded wife to love in sickness and health and in poverty and wealth?” The priest asked turning to Diablo. "I do.” Diablo replied. “You may kiss the bride,” The priest announced. Diablo leaned forward as his hands wrapped around my mother's waist. I turned my head to the side. I was going to be sick. The crowd cheered when Ma and Diablo linked lips and I gagged. They were polar opposites. It was like watching the sun try to take over the night sky. The night sky was too vast hence it woul
**Evelyn**I've spent the every waking moment since I was 12 learning the ins and the fucking outs of this business. I had to go to Mafia training school and had the scars to show for it and this is what I get for all my hard work?“What do you mean I'll have to get married to inherit this business? Do you not trust me, Father?" I said, trying my best to keep my voice at a respectful tone. We were in the midst of The Family. The Family were Father's most trusted men and advisors. Disrespecting him in front of them would bring punishment upon me. I had far more to focus on than that.“Keep your voice down, Zhizn moya,” Father ordered, gently. I pursed my lips and waited for him to offer an explanation. "I do not have much longer to stay and I need to ensure the family business is in good hands. You are a woman. Men will want to take advantage of you. I have to ensure you are married before I step down."“So you believe I cannot handle the business because I am a woman? Father, have I n
**Evelyn**Being beaten up by my enemies and then caught by the police and given a lifetime sentence with hard labor would be better than being on a date with Maxim. If one date drained me this much, how would I cope with being married to him? Could I still ask Father to look for someone else?Sighing, I throw the sheets off of me and sit up in bed. Glancing at the alarm clock, I noted the time. It was 10am and I'd barely gotten up to 6 hours of sleep. After my date with Maxim, I came back home and wondered how I'd pull it off. Maxim was insufferable. Hence, I came up with a plan. After the marriage, when the business was in my hands, I'd set Maxim up and be rid of him. All I needed was patience.“Evelyn?" My father's voice sounded from outside my door as he knocked hesitantly.“Come in!" I yelled, leaning against the headboard. I was angry at Father and I'd make sure he knew."Zhizn moya, how was the date?”"You didn't tell me it'd be Maxim Orlov, Father. Why? Or was this The Family
**Evelyn**“So you only found Mancini's body? There were three more bodies, where did they go to?" I yelled. I could feel my temple throbbing painfully. I already had a lot to worry about now bodies were disappearing? Color me green and call me a fucking alien!“We don't know! There wasn't blood anywhere else just around Mancini. No weapons or anything indicating someone else was there. It was clean, Evie," Sasha said, eyeing me warily. I knew how it looked but I didn't care. I don't.“Send some men back there. They should search until they can find something," I muttered turning around on my heels and stalking out. I couldn't handle this. First, there was a strange note and bloodlust flower on mum's grave and now those men's bodies had disappeared. I still hadn't even told anybody about the new boss in town fiasco.Nobody knew where mum was buried. Not even Sasha. The only people aware were Dad and I. I would've thought Maxim but he couldn't pull this off. Unless someone else was her
**Evelyn** As a child, mother always told me that the week before I got married, I had to take note of everything. I had to ensure there was no threat around and that nobody, not even I, uttered a single bad thing that would jeopardize my wedding. Mother believed in bad omens and all sorts of superstitions and to an extent, I believed in them too. Especially now, when I'd been getting notes with thinly veiled threats like gifts. Was this some sort of game? Who the fuck was playing it? Since the night of my engagement party, I couldn't forget the mysterious man I saw. Everything points back to him as the one who'd been leaving notes but why? Where does he know me from? An enemy perhaps? I sighed as the makeup artist applies blush on my cheeks. “I like your skin tone so much. I swear it goes so well with the blush. And your cheekbones, higher than mountains I swear," the makeup artist gushed as she decorated my face. I had a light brown skin tone courtesy of my Caribbean mother. I c
**Evelyn** Apart from the few casualties, the wedding went relatively well. Who am I kidding? The wedding was a disaster. Out of everything that happened yesterday, Sasha's involvement in all this was what baffled me the most. Was Killian blackmailing her? Or did she simply betray me? No, she can't switch sides that easily. What if she's been a spy all along? I haven't seen her since we left the wedding venue. I was currently sitting across from Killian as his driver took us to God knows where. The partition was up and we were the only ones sitting at the backseat. Killian's eyes were closed and his head was thrown back on the seat. Killian Bandini was a menace to the mafia society. His father might have been the head of the business but everybody knew that for the past 12 years, Killian has been soaking his hands in blood and dining with demons. Nobody exactly knew his story. Just that 16 years ago, he showed up at Russo Bandini's door and claimed he was his son. A paternity t
