“No, this is the wrong lane. Taking this route is only going to lead us to the wolves.” Bryson kept walking but I stopped, fear reverberating through my body as I said, feet stuck to the spot.

He stopped to look over his shoulder. “Seriously? We haven’t even gotten anywhere. We are just trying to locate her place… trust me already.” A little laugh escaped him, and it’s a sweet, tinkling sound.

“Keep leading the way then. I’ll trust you to safeguard my life.” My mouth popped open. I squared my shoulder when he nodded in agreement and I followed behind him, my eyes not ceasing to dance around us.

Don’t blame me, I don’t want to die. Not yet and definitely not this way.

Ten minutes into the walk and there’s still no house nor anyone in sight. Instead it seemed like the farther we walk, the more lost we are.
