D E L I L A H Azriel immediately knew something was up as soon as I barged into his office with my tear streaked face. He didn't care that there were people in his office as he immediately sauntered over to me. “Hey hey, what's wrong?” He cradled my cheek, turning me to face him. “Talk to me, baby.” I opened my mouth to speak, but my throat was too heavy to even make out a sentence without me crying. The men in the room looked at us with surprise on their faces but Azriel wasn't having it as he turned to them and growled, “Out y'all! This meeting is over!” They didn't need to be told twice as they all scrambled out of the office, leaving us alone. I face him, my lips trembling. “A-Azriel... I- Kian, his school called. T-they can't find him. They cand find my son!” I finally let the dam of years out as I fisted his shirt, crying into his chest. His body immediately tensed, going rigid. “What did you say?” His voice was void of emotions as he pulled away to look at me. “They c-c
D E L I L A H Horror passed through the security guard's eyes as Azriel’s brooding figure stood in front of him. He was a tall guy with dirty blonde hair, he had an innocent look that one could have looked past. But at this point anyone could be the culprit. I just want to get my baby back. “H-how may I help you?” The security guard stuttered, clearing his throat and trying to not let his trembling body noticeable. “You know damn well why I'm here. Your job is to make sure no kid leaves the school premises without parental guidance, right?” Azriel said in a cool, calm voice but I knew it was all a facade. He was barely restraining himself and I knew it was only a matter of minutes before he would explode. “Y-yes–” Without letting him complete his sentence, Azriel cut him off. “Care to tell me how my son left the school premises and you claim you didn't see him, whereas you've been here all day?” His voice was becoming darker as the seconds ticked. “Are you accusing me–” “Let's
M E L I S S AAs soon as I walked into the room where the guys, I noticed a pair of eyes looking at me but I immediately looked away, my body feeling hot.I turned to Azriel, whose expression was dark and solemn as always. He was standing over the half conscious security guard, looking like he was about to inflict more pain on the boy. “Azriel...” I called out his name, trying to get his attention. His head snapped up to mine and he growled, “What do you want?”I tried to shake off the fear that ran through my spine at the tone of his voice. “Uhm, Delilah is awake and I guess you'd want to see her.” He tried to hide it, but I immediately noticed his expression lightened a little bit at the mention of her name as he stiffly nodded his head and walked out of the room. The love he had for her was so obvious. If I had doubted it before, I definitely believed it now.I was so happy for my best friend and truly hope we'd find Kian soon. Seeing her that distraught, hopeless made my heart ac
D E L I L A HThe sound of the door opening woke me up from my slumber as I peered at Azriel through sleepy eyes. His expression was murderous as he walked into the closet. Without thinking twice, I got out of the bed and followed him. He looked at me as soon as I was in the closet with him, his hands placed on his head. “What's going on?”“We are leaving tonight.” He said in a tight voice.I looked at him in confusion. “To where?”“Home. The tracker led us to Romania and from there, we'd know where to find her. We can't afford to waste more time, knowing Kian is open to more harm.”Going back to a place I ran away from was definitely something I wasn't expecting. A place that had caused me so much trauma and pain. A place that I also had happy memories with Azriel. A place where our baby was conceived. The same place my life changed forever. But I had no choice, did I?If I wantrd to get my bagy back, I needed to make that sacrifice right? Azriel didn't say anything as he kept pack
D E L I L A H Trying to sleep in a room that held so many memories was a very hard. I stayed up, staring at the ceiling and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stop the flash backs. The happily moments. The fights. Our first night together. When we confessed our feelings to each other, it wasn’t something I could easily forget. Thinking of what could have been if I hadn’t made the decision to leave brought tears to my eyes. I was tired of being sad. Of thinking. I was exhausted. I got out of bed, wrapping my arms around myself. I wanted to feel his strong arms wrapped around me. His breath on my neck. I needed him. I quietly made my way out of the room and walked towards the next room. I knew he would be in there. I softly opened the door. The room was dark and tbe only source of light in the room was coming from the moon. The moonlight shined through the window, highlighting his face. He slowly opened his eyes, peering at me. He had always been a light sleeper. Waking up to
D E L I L A H “Fancy meeting you again, Delilah.” I turned around to come face to face with Andrea. I thought she had left with the others, I had insisted on going with them but Azriel pointed out that it wasn't right for me to go out yet. Considering the fact that I didn't know if I would stay here permanently, I think he had a point. “I think you're not really happy about my arrival, Andrea. Your expression already gave it away.” I responded to her. Andrea's attitude hasn't changed one bit, she was still as she was five years ago, if not worse. “What do you want me to do? Jump and be ecstatic about you coming back? After the horrible things you did to my brother? To think I was beginning to like you.” She spat in distaste, glaring at me. “Since when did you start caring about your brother? Last I recall, you absolutely hated his guts and wanted nothing to do with him.” I knew I was being petty but I couldn't help but be defensive. “But you did worse than I'd ever do to him. Yo
“WHAT?!” Melissa and Sienna exclaimed ad I broke the news to them. But one had a different expression from the other. While Melissa looked absolutely horrified, Sienna looked elated by the news. “Please tell me you agreed!” Sienna squealed, reminding me of childish her five years ago. She looked too overjoyed about this and I couldn't help but smile. “I did,” I said in a small shy voice and I heard Sienna squeal as she jumped over to me. “Yes!” You have no idea how much I've waited for this moment. To see my brother finally getting married. Not just to anyone, but to the woman of his dreams. I'm so happy for you, Lilah.” She said excitedly and we both turned to Melissa who was pouting. “What's wrong, Mel?” I asked nervously. If she wasn't happy about this then it was going to be a problem. “I always imagined your wedding to be something huge and planned, not rushed. And definitely not now. Let's set all the jokes aside, Lilah. Do you think you're ready for this? To be a wife?” I
D E L I L A H It's been two hours since Azriel left after the wedding and ill have to admit that I was a nervous wreck. I clasped my trembling fingers together, trying to wear off my nervousness. “You need to stop worrying, Lilah. I'm sure they'll be back soon.” Melissa said, trying to sound comforting but I wasn't having it. “Stop worrying? How the fuck will I stop worrying when my son and husband are potentially in harm's way? What if something goes terribly wrong and I lose both of them at the same time? I don't think I can calm down until I know they're completely fine, Mel. I just can't.” I said, shaking my head. Melissa sighed, walking to my front. She held my shoulders forcing me to face her. “Look at me, Lilah. You need to stay positive. Thinking like this will bring nothing but fear in you and crippling anxiety.” I tried to take Melissa's words to heart, but my mind was still racing with worry. The thought of something happening to Azriel or our son was unbearable. I took
