Chapter Forty-One

Immediately, I grabbed his wrist and my brows furrowed.

Mr. Nam stood still for a bit, shocked with my reaction. He let out a deep breath and slowly retracted his arm. A sigh escaped his lips as he placed a hand on my knee. "I'm sorry. That was disrespectful of me," he said as he looked straight into my eyes.

I then said, "Mr. Nam, you can't keep doing these unusual things towards me. You said it yourself, too many people know you. Too many eyes can easily spot what you do and create untrue stories about you. I just started working here and I don't want to cause any more trouble than what I already had with Minju. I just need an explanation for everything so I can understand and move on.

"But, Mingyu, I can't. Not now."

Chills ran down my spine and arms as my name escaped his lips. It was the first time that Mr. Nam has ever used my first name in a conversation. And I never thought that the day would come where he would talk to me using my given name.
