When Harrigan Woods told Madine Miles yesterday that they would be meeting up for dinner at Oaks Restaurant, she didn't sniff a thing. She hadn't even ever been there in all her life so she just knows the popular restaurant for its name and integrity.
But now, here he is, in front of her, on one knee, holding up a ring box and asking her to marry him, it's all a very elaborate dream... One she doesn't want to believe just yet but the screams of "say yes" and the man in front of her is more than enough conviction to know just how real it all is.
Slowly, all the noise comes back to her and she discovers she's keeping him waiting. With a soft and yet exhilarating smile, she nods yes and everyone claps as he puts the ring on her finger.
It's all a dream come true.
He pulls her to himself and hugs her before kissing her lightly on the lips... For the rest of the night, she keeps on admiring the diamond encrusted ring that he had just put into her finger.
We will be married?
After so many years of dating and seeing one another, he has finally popped the question. They've been an item since their college days, three years before they graduated and five years after, now, all gaining their footing in life.
She has her job and he's got his...
Talking of jobs, her phone rings on the table. "Excuse me Harry, I have to pick this call."
He nods in acceptance. I mean, he's always supportive of her, her decisions and her tasking jobs.
He's a walking green flag.
"Hello sir?"
...
The call goes on for about five minutes before she returns back to her seat, looking a bit sour and downcast.
"Come on, we just had a beautiful moment. Don't ruin it now. Something wrong at work?"
She sighs as she sets the phone down on the table. "I have to go on a two week trip to Glasgow. There's a problem with one of my old clients that I've been specifically chosen to settle since I have a good relationship with him."
Harrigan looks so downcast immediately. "Ugh. Sometimes, I wish I could just make you the boss of that company so you can do whatever you want whenever you like." He comments, sipping from his glass of wine.
She laughs heartily. "I wish you could too. Don't worry, it'll be over soon, I'll transfer departments so I won't have to shuffling around anymore and will be able to fully settle down."
Harrigan sets down his glass. "As you wish love..." He lowers his voice to a whisper. "If not for this trip, I would love to make sure you unable to walk for a whole week."
She turns a deep shade of red and give an embarrassed cough. "Don't do that outside." She chides him playfully and he laughs.
"Come on then, if you're going early to work tomorrow, I won't be the reason you'll be up late or worse, miss your flight."
She smiles and takes his outstretched hand.

Exactly a week later, Madine sighs contentedly as she stares out into the cloudy day, all the soft balls of water wash past the plane as makes it way to the New York Airport.
After about thirty minutes, she exits the airport, breathing deeply in the air of New York City that she has absolutely come to miss. She takes her car from the airport car park and makes her way home, humming to herself as she glances every few minutes at the decorated gift box beside her in the passenger chair.
She glances at her ring again and a smile washes through her body. She can't wait to see him. She suddenly swerves her car into another lane and drives even faster so she can get home where she will surprise him.
She checks the time and nods. "It's just six forty five in the evening so he'll be home from work already. It'll be perfect. He's been wanting this shoes since forever."
When she gets to the high rise apartment, she gets down and grabs her handbag and the large gift box before heading in. She just waltzes through, as anyone can tell she's in a pretty good mood.
Inside the elevator, she presses the fifteenth floor and watches almost impatiently as the elevator drags on.
Finally, the elevator pings and she gets off. Walking to the door, she contemplates on knocking and surprising him with her abrupt return but she shakes her head.
He's a germaphobe so he'll probably still be in the shower or at least, he'll just be out. It'll be the perfect moment to spring up on him...
"And maybe I'll even give him the permission to render me paralyzed for a week." She chuckles at her own dirty thoughts as she types in the door's passkey and the door opens.
She smiles, goes inside and shuts the door.
It's silent inside which is quite weird but she removes her shoes and change into a slippers. The next alarm goes off in her head when she sees an extra pair of shoes at the door and they are not arranged at all and walking further into the living room, there are pieces of clothing everywhere.
Harrigan's suit hanging off the edge of the chair, another unknown coat on the edge of another chair...
Then it hits her.
Those sounds she's been hearing is not the steady hum of the rice cooker in the kitchen but a woman's pleasure moans.
Madine's heart sinks into her throat and swallows her fear, some sort of reassurance in her head that Harrigan won't do such a thing to her. With a ton of courage, she opens the door of the room in question and the sight before her is straight out of a p**n video.
She's atop and straddling him, while grinding against his crotch.
The sound of the door opening doesn't even faze them as neither of them noticed her. Harrigan is so lost in his throes of pleasure that he doesn't see his fiancee by the door, her eyes red and beginning to water ever so slightly.
"AAAAAAARRRRRGH!" She screams, unable to take it anymore.
All activities stop and eyes fly open.
The stranger lady with her long blonde hair turns around and their eyes meet. Immediately, in Madine's eyes flash a look of recognition.
"K... Karla?"
"Me in the flesh." She responds with a smirk, still not standing up from Harrigan's groin and he's not exactly moving either, he's just watching her while his back is still laid on the bed.
Madine reels from the shock, also at the fact that neither of them is showing any remorse about it has sent her tears back into their glands and she's just angry."What are you two doing? Aren't you even ashamed?" She asks, looking from Karla to Harrigan who shrugs.Karla smirks. "You can't blame me for giving your man what you have been denying him." "What? Karla? You're supposed to be my best friend in the world not some trashy bitch backstabber. And Harrigan, you're supposed to be my fiancee, you're not supposed to be in bed together... You are not even getting up." She whispers the last part to herself, than to them."Why should I get up? You're the one that's supposed to get out. Are you a pervert? Do you like seeing people have sex?" Karla asks as she moves her waist ever so slightly but that simple move only sends Harrigan moaning and no.Just no.Madine backs out, her expression one of betrayal and haunted shadows. With her gift box in her hand and her handbag in the other, s
The rays of sunshine the next morning hit Madine's eyes like a spear. She opens her eyes almost comically and everything around her is unfamiliar. She takes a deep breath before standing up.As soon as she does, her breath catches as she sees the breathtaking man sleeping away beside her. His face is like a baby with immense aura of a man. Well, he's a grown man but he's asleep so peacefully, even with a tiny hint of a smile coating his full lips. She remembers vaguely what it was like to get kissed by those lips, getting ravaged by them completely from her head to her legs. She shivers to shake the thoughts away from her head. She picks up all of her clothing from the floor and dresses very silently while worrying about waking him. She successfully makes it out of there, not after taking a picture of the man on the bed.She cocks her head to the side outside as she stares at the picture. "Just for documentation purposes."She hails a taxi and leaves his place just as he opens his eye
