I was thankful when the beast fell into my hands, sleeping.
His hair, dangerously covering a part of his forehead. Chiseled jaw and a smooth face, which had some beard around his chin. He reminded me of the way an Adonis was described, in one of the books I read back at home.
Home.
I missed home.
I found myself drifting back to reality, and giggling a bit at the way he snored while he slept.
For someone as powerful and good looking, he was a disaster in bed.
What are you doing, Ava?
You should be making your way out instead of admiring him…
“I need to go,”
I whispered, pushing him off my body with all my strength and rolling him over. The girls would soon wake up, and I wouldn’t want any mixed feelings about this.
“Stay.”
His hands suddenly tightened around my hands saying.
“W-what, I have to—”
“Please stay…don’t leave.”
He trailed out sleepily, with his eyes closed. There were beads of sweat on his forehead. And his lips were slightly parted, like in distress.
I wondered if he was having a bad dream.
“They all want power.”
“They all want it,”
“But…I don’t care.”
“I want love. I want to recover. I want to improve... if you would give me a chance to.”
Caspian shuddered as he said those words, trembling with tears going sideways as he slept.
“Please don’t leave. Don’t hate me, like the others. Don’t be fake too?”
“I can’t control my monster but I didn’t mean harm. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone, I promise.”
“Please stay...”
“Stay.”
At his every word, I cringed my eyes in hurt. I sat on my spot, with tears coming down my eyes at how he presently looked.
It seemed he was traumatized from something that happened in the past.
From an incident, from someone. And I wanted to help him. I wished I could save him. If he had an explanation for all this dystopia, like he drunkenly said.
Then I wanted to be his redemption.
His mate.
“I will stay,”
I muttered, placing my other hand on his which covered his large palms.
“I won’t leave, I promise.”
My hands tightened around his hands, saying.
Didn’t know if felt like I meant those words.
…
I didn’t get to eat breakfast.
I had missed it, since the beast summoned me to his chambers. Thus, I wore my cloth, taking a hold of my sword and my sheath.
I walked to the training ground, only to meet them assembled.
Thankfully, they hadn’t started yet.
Still quite shaken from what I had witnessed, I had a hard time focusing on reality. Thinking of the sight of Caspian at his most vulnerable moment, made me rethink everything else I had thought of him to be.
“Take position!”
Elder Zu shouted, in command.
I raised the sword just like others did. Like always, I was partnered with Emily.
“Are you okay?” she whispered.
“You weren’t at breakfast today. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
I answered, with a dismissive expression.
I wished I could shut everything out. That I didn’t have to fight to survive. That it was all okay.
“Okay, let’s get to work then” she said, eyeing me suspiciously before returning to focus on Elder Zu’s words.
“Today, we are learning a breathing technique. Every warrior should master a few healing techniques, in case of casualty.”
He said.
We immediately commenced practicing and doing as he said. Elder Zu added sword techniques too. He made us believe that everyone had a chakra— which was an energy.
That when discovered, your fighting energy is improved.
“To discover, get peace with your soul, mind and body.”
I didn’t even pay attention. My mind was drifted on the reveal from the beast of what was really going on in this castle.
“Ava, what are you doing? I feel like I’m fighting with an infant. Can you put more effort?!”
Emily yelled at me.
“I’m trying.”
I stated.
“Really? Cause you seemed a little off today. You disappeared and literally came out of nowhere.”
“When I asked what was wrong, you told me it was nothing.”
She answered, stopping in her tracks.
“Cause nothing is wrong, can we continue now?”
“Are you sure? You can talk to me, you know. If someone abused or touched you, you can tell me…”
“What?” I cringed my nose saying.
My eyes roamed around her, to find signs that it was a joke. But when she didn’t bulge, I knew she was serious.
“Yes, you can…you know.”
She enclosed the space between us, saying, reaching for my arm. Her face had a supportive look, but it irritated me. I needed space.
My body had a withheld fury, that needed to be out.
“Get your hands off me! Not everyone is like you, Emily.”
I sneered, without even thinking.
I realized what I said, widening my eyes with an apologetic expression.
“W-what?”
Tears immediately surrounded her eyes. Her entire body trembled, and the effect made her drop the sword.
“When I told you that… I never expected you to use it against me, Ava.”
“I’m um—”
“I thought we were friends.” she stated.
“Friends don’t use past scars against each other…”
A look of betrayal was written all over on her face.
“I’m sorry.”
I stated immediately. “I’m really sorry, Emily.”
“Please…”
“I’m just really frustrated. I discovered nothing we see here, is really the truth.”
“I found out--"
“It’s okay.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, you could tell me that later.” she remarked.
“But this isn’t the same girl that pulled me out of the sack and comforted me. This isn’t the same girl that gave me her clothes, when I needed it the most.”
Emily added, in a husky tone.
“I feel annoyed too. In fact, I’m frustrated and scared.”
“But we only have each other, you know. Perhaps with Piper, but she’s in the kitchen section.”
She added, reminding me.
That was indeed true.
“We shouldn’t fight. All this…we would soon be free someday.”
“Either by winning, or by death.”
*Days later*I wouldn’t say I became better, at heart after Emily’s words. There was an improve, yes.But I didn’t become better in my sword man ship, skills. No matter how I tried, I just couldn’t get it right. While Elder Zu taught us the techniques everyday and made us practice, I came back to the battle ground each time.Trying to learn, but nothing came out of it.“The challenge would be in a fortnight to now, ladies.”Knight Lydia announced one day, after gathering the 25 of us together.“Only after that, would the winner face me.”She was about walking away, when she suddenly stopped in her tracks, taking a view at us training.“With what I’m seeing, I’m sure none of you would be able to combat with me, one on one.”She snickered, before walking away. The morning bell for breakfast rang instantly. I shook the snow off my b
The beast held me as I leaned on him, crying intensely.Remembering Jasmine, did make me want to run into a box, and hide myself from it all.“She was my sister.”In a husky and hushed tone, I said.“And you lost her, didn’t you?” he asked.“She was just 9…”I brokenly let out, shivering. My body pondered as I said those words, with so much hurt withheld in my chest.“I lost someone too.”He suddenly let out.“I might not know what it’s like but I remember having an empty feeling.” he added, gently.“She was my mum.”“And her death was unforeseen. She died in the hands of the enemies.” he added.“And when she did, my dad became a gruesome, ruthless beast. I became worst.”“First you feel immense guilt, next…rage and anger. You then begin to blame y
The snow fell slowly, pouring on my head while the rain drizzled too. I suspected it was due to my transformation, that I couldn’t feel much of the weather. My skin felt a million thicker and impenetrable.I in fact, felt so much stronger, as I approached Master Zu. My face wrote of a determined look.My sword dragged on the floor, making linings on the snow that fell. And breeze blew off my already short hair, which I had earlier cut.I must win.I had to win.If I wanted to defeat Knight Lydia, I had to pass the hurdle.By defeating Elder Zu himself.“Come on!”Master Zu exclaimed, stretching his hands forward.I suddenly began running towards him, swaying my sword as I ran in the air. Instead of a sword, Master Zu took out a wooden stick. What was he doing?I stopped on my spot immediately.“You’re using that?”
Her crimson hair swarm widely, as she flipped some pages of her book. I inhaled nervously. What was she doing telling me to be free?I pressed my lips firmly, deciding to do as she said. Maybe she’ll tell me what I needed to know.“S-sure,”I muttered, reaching for the books in the shelf. My hands scanned through before taking one of them in my hands. I carefully observed it, as I did.Maybe it was a hint? Or was it?The book I took had an old brownish cover. It seemed dusty and ancient. But surprisingly, it was locked. With a padlock and it seemed like it needed a key.“It’s locked, Lady Archer.”“Yes dear, it is.”“For now, though. It’s left to you to open it; I’ve played my part.”“But I don’t have the key. How do I unlock it?” I asked frightfully. What if the answer to everything
Warning! Some parts of this chapter trigger self-harm and suicide.Dear readers, suicide is never an option. Whatever you’re passing through or facing will soon be over. Hang on in there, please...After that encounter with Rook Francesca, I headed to Knight Lydia’s quarters. My intentions were simple— I wanted Piper in my room. Then I would practice more and find the key after.Luckily, she agreed. Although with the condition that Piper shared a bed with me, since it wasn’t in her power to move anything in the castle. She had suggested me talking to Bishop Cicilia about it, but I waved it off agreeing. What was worse than going to one’s enemies for help?Cicilia would pay for her deeds, with Lady Francesca. But that was until I found the truth.Because something didn’t quite add up. I sensed a hidden enemy; pulling the strings.Who wa
King Caspian’s Pov“Milord, I sent the message. Lady Ava would be here in a few minutes.”Jaskier, my personal guard said with a bow.“Okay thanks.”I said, sitting down in deep thoughts as he left through the door, closing it behind him.Why won’t she accept to be my concubine? Why doesn’t she want me to protect her anymore? Why is she so stubborn? With these thoughts, I stood up pacing back and forth in my chambers.“I want mate.”“I miss her sweet scent and want to hold her in my hands.”My beast grumbled, threatening to take over.“Quiet, would you? Can’t you see I summoned her already?”He won’t rest until our mate was safe with us. Until she was protected from the games. Not that I couldn’t forcefully take her. But doing that, w
Ava’s Pov It was almost like I could hear imaginary bells. Completely zoning out the moment Tabitha jumped. Holding my gown, with my both hands shaking. Through the linings which supported the balcony, I peeked and saw Tabitha’s disfigured body. “Oh no…” She was already dead. It was an eye sore. Right beside her down, were Francesca and Cicilia. Seems like they intended to stop her from jumping so they won’t be exposed. I knew Tabitha was right, that instant. Clearly, they were both responsible. In fact, they have been feeding on her. “Lady Ava…” I wondered who was calling me. “Lady Ava!!” Someone jeered me out of my thoughts, shaking my arms steadily. I looked only to see Cassandra. “You need to get a hold of yourself,” She said. Thankfully, she had followed me unknowingly. Sh
As he reached for them, a strong feeling of déjà vu washed past me.My head couldn’t help but remember the moments we had been intimate. Back on the ship, and the night he chose me for the Great Dance. Also, the other time he was drunk. He did make me feel special.“Ava…” he trailed on his words.“I love you… you know, that right?”My heart beat thudded frantically. I reached for his shoulders, wrapping my hands around them. I also wondered if he was a bit tipsy.“Mhmm,”Those were the words I breathed out, unsure of what to say exactly. What was I supposed to say? That I perhaps loved the person I was forcefully given to?“You mean the world to me. So much more,” Caspian said, trailing kisses on my earlobes, down to my neckline. I gasped when he ripped my cloth forcefully, tearing the material with hi

This vampiric witcher believes it’s to bear his pup, and to drink from me.” – Frida King🖤🩸…A total of 5 assistants came into our rooms, minutes after with trays. Contained in them were adornments.I narrowed my eyes wondering what these were. A closer look told me it was for us.“Milady,” my assistant said stepping nearer. “We were told to give you this, and make sure you liked them.”“Of what use?” Lisa let out with a scoff. The other three females in the room looked at her confusingly. A look of amusement replayed in my features though. “They’re trying to season us, I guess?” I retorted.“I’d rather walk the plank.”“You should do as they say.” Lisa’s assistant said.I folded my arms wondering what this castle held.“And why is that?” Lisa replied her.“Because we watched the other girls who were resistant.” my heart gave an overwhelmed feeling that minute. Other girls...? It was my assistant who said it this time and it felt stran

The other girl who eliminated the girl used her blood to turn the lantern off. She made her way to the front with a primal look on her face.Knowing I couldn’t be a part of it, I walked towards the girl’s body staring at her as she gasped for breath. My hands directed to her, rubbing her heard. “It’s fine,” I muttered. “You do not have to struggle or blame yourself. You can rest now.”“M-my family, I promised them that I was going to make it.” she let out.“A word will be sent out to them, you can rest now.” I said, my voice in a tone spelled with sympathy.“T-Thank, you...” she trailed before closing her eyes.“I’ll make your death worthwhile.” I said with a determined look. That minute, I took some of her blood putting some droplets on the lantern. The flame began to burn out that instant. The last of it whoof
🖤🩸“I have always wondered what my destiny was. This vampiric witcher believes it’s to bear his pup, and to drink from me.” – Frida King🩸🖤…I commenced running with all that I had, forgetting the fact that I had to hide my identity. My Lycan willingly came out and although she didn’t shift, we were still fast. Heaving erratically, breathing in fast paces, I looked back from time to time...“NooooOO!!” The panther caught up with one of them. I realized it was the male which the panther devoured rapidly. The girl surprisingly didn’t go back for her partner, instead she increased her speed with all she had. “Help me, please…!”My Lycan heard those words, making my eyes flare up in yellow. “Yahh!!” What happened next was a blur, but I think I scared the panther off...I opened my eyes naked, on a deserted part of land with water droplets sprinkling on me from a plant. “Psst. I’m so not trusting or helping anyone again.”It seemed like there were people around from the food I smelled.
🖤🩸"I have always wondered what my destiny was. This vampiric witcher believes it’s to bear his pup, and to drink from me.” – Frida King 🖤🩸 …. I woke up discovering that every single deck member had disappeared. In fact, there was no one in sight when I pushed the door coming aboard. Everything looked in place, except that the sea had landed on shore. Did they actually leave me? “Where is everyone?” I said those words out loud. Pinching myself to check if it was a dream, but when I scowled, I was so sure it wasn’t. “Hello?” my voice echoed in reply. I sighed with the possible fact that I might have been duped and deceived. Reaching to scavenge for my backpack, I found nothing. In fact, the money I hid secretly had disappeared. Dammit! Maybe it was what I deserved for being naïve. What did I expect? An easy part to the Kingdom of Shrekers? Was such a fool to think the strange captain from last night, had a thing for me. “Yah!” I jumped from the ship, with my Lycan strengt
~Back to reality~“What’s your name, girl and how did you get here?”“I’m a nobody.” I seethed at his question, with our eyes connecting. A nobody in search of my path, Captain.“A nobody, eh? Do you hear that crew, she says she’s a nobody!” The crew laughed immensely at his words.I scoffed, shutting my eyes and remembering even why I was doing this. The Captain’s hands went through his coal-black hair, with some loose strands just at his face sides demonically.“There is no place for a nobody on this ship, girl.” he murmured, in my ear.“It’s Frida.” I spat at him. “I intend to join your crew, Captain.”A look of disbelief displayed in his dark pupils, which stared at my almond ones, with a warning glare. I swallowed, with the wind bringing a little part of my red hair to fall on my face.“I don’t accept daddy’s girls in my crew, little one.”The Captain voiced out, walking away from me. Feeling humiliated, I released my Lycan. She ripped his men’s bulky hands off, with our doubled

Some deaths only made things right. Some were damages. I caused several of them, as one of the perpetrators. Do I deserve to even live? – Ava King (The Queen) … “I also took part in eliminating the girls.” I had lamented, the other day. I was in a lost part of the castle, where no one could hear me. “I did it to save myself, yet that wasn’t fair on their side.” “A-Ava?” Piper had muttered, stepping from my back. She had been trying to reach out to me, with her soft and feeble hands. Her eyes held a saddened look, with a pout. Reason had been that we were in separate rooms. “It’s all going to be fine, I promise.” I had whispered, but she still held on to me. “Most girls are bigger than me there, they’re going to bully me.” She numbly stated. I had sighed that day, even though I felt helpless. “They won’t. I’ll protect you if they do, I promise.” I said, kissing her hands. I opened my eyes, waking up from the strange dream. I’ll protect her if they tried to hurt her? I
Ava’s Pov“The district wars are upcoming. Right now, a plague of suffering is spreading out. I need help.” – Ava King (The Queen)…King Teta’s body was brought around the palace, by the few people who believed he should have a burial.Even the people he ruled, forsook him.His body thrown out of the sea, the minute he stopped breathing.“Father,”My mate let out, with a saddened expression. It was directed at his pale body, which lay near the furnace for cremation. With Alcander, who had rushed from the Kingdom, the minute he heard the news.We had wanted to eliminate him, because of his cruelty. But I understood that at the end of the day, he was still Caspian’s father.“You always wanted power, forsaking even the family you made.” Caspian continued. “In your hands were the blood of hundreds of girls. The blood of innocent virgins, and lastly… our mother.”“Our own mum, Lady Archer.”Alcander continued, with tears surrounding his eyes in hurt.“You made your own sons, not even know
