"Thank you for availing yourself. I will make it quick."

"You better."

"Miss Helen Mathe, where were you on the night Darian was killed?" Helen swallowed and shifted for comfort before finding Dylan's eyes. At that point she had mixed feelings, they had come too quick and she hadn't made up her mind as yet

"Don't tell Helen. Don't say anything." she could still hear the last statement Raymond had said to her before the police had taken her. She had expected her father to appear at the scene but like always, he stayed huddled up in his soundproof study

"I do not know what you are talking about." she found herself lying while staring back into his eyes. Although it was last minute, she just had to gear up her acting boots

"Helen, you do know that if we found out you lied to cover a crime it will backfire right? Not even your father can save you."

"I do not know what you are talking about detective. You have

And i am afraid she has given them enough reason to monitor her every move. She told them she knows.""What?!" exclaimed the two gentlemen all at once their gazes tearing from Prim to Helen"Do you want me to go to prison that bad?" asked Joshua his eyes full of contempt making Helen shudder"You know what, lets get out of here and

It was one silly mistake it never happened ever again i swear!""Did you sleep with her?""What?! No! Raymond we have come a long way i am what i am partly because of you and i will never sleep with your woman." he said looking straight at him yet he avoided his gaze. He had meant to tell him that Julia was Melissa but at that point it was likely to ruin their friendship. He knew Raymond loved Julia and he too was trying so hard not to catch feelings, Raymond was more than a friend he had become his only family.

After a brief meeting with his boss, Timothy was glad to finally breath freely as he exited the room. The spared a few glances for the two guards by the door hoping they didn't notice his nervousness before disappearing down the corridor. Ever since he found out about the pregnancy he had been very uncomfortable with talking to Richard be it on call or even worse in person. He had worked for Richard for as long as he could remember, and the man never hesitated to kill whoever was in his way. He was even planning on assassinating the president so what more him! Knocking softly on Helen's door he got no response then proceeded to enter before an wandering eye caught up with him. The house was infested with over thirty guards, and he had made it a point to be on lookout whenever he entered Helen's room."What are you doing in my room!" she snapped the moment she got out of the bathroom in nothing but a white towel wrapped around her. Her pregnancy was beginning to show, an

It had been a dramatic dinner but not too bad because the president's wife and daughter disappeared and never came back. The car slid smoothly down the highway as she was being driven home but before she knew it sleep began to catch up with her only to be disrupted by a phone call. She took it out thinking it was Joshua but to her surprise it wasn't him, it was Raymond"Raymond...hie." she stuttered. The last time she has seen him was when he came with a pregnant Helen. He had ignored both her calls and texts ever since the kissing incident at the club"Hey...i uhm...do you mind meeting up for lunch tomorrow? Just wanna talk.""No no i..i don't mind. Text me time and place i will be there."Cool." With that the call was cut leaving her to deal with her nerves. "Who are you?" whispered Julia in the calmest voice she could muster. She was not going to give a fearful impression just because she had no much weapons. It was dark already and that made her glad that he wouldn't see she was female, all she had to do was to dodge the car flash lights coming in opposite directions by the road not too far from them. As she was still thinking Joshua quickly kicked one of her hands leading to one gun falling to the ground but she had no time to mule over that as she pointed the other gun straight to his head"Checkmate." he let out a husky voice"What do you want from me?""Your life." he gave the responce she had expected. But she was not ready to die she was going to do whatever it took to survive"So why don't you fight me like a man then. Weapons off.""You must really be taking me for a fool.""No i am not. Here i am m placing mine down look." she said dropping the gun

I wanted to know if you have heard from Joshua i haven't seen him for over 24hours now.""No i haven't heard from him either. I last saw him at the police station and he hasn't responded to any of my messages. Did you ask Ricky? Maybe he has some business at the club.""Send me his number please." she said as she cut the call. Few minutes later Raymond sent the contact but as she dialed it, it went straight to voicemail as well. At that point she was no longer sure of what to think. There was no way Joshua would dissappear for that long and not communicate. She then walked out and into the car then sped straight to club midnight. It was noisy as usual and heavily packed. Joshua made a slight knock before entering Raymond's house a whole three months later. It had been one hell of a task for all of them to live through the trauma, and even harder to tell Helen since she was pregnant but Raymond did still, she had to know. Non of them had healed since then but they were trying "Hey." he said walking over to the bed where he sat with a pile of papers work subsequently being the only thing keeping him sane. "Hey come on in." he smiled carefully placing the papers away before going to join him on the couch. Joshua helped himself to the wine on the little table before him, pouring another glass for Raymond. Nothing was the same anymore, and that was the first time they were seeing each other since that dreaded day "I just wanted to check on you." said Joshua with a sip. Raymond gulped the wine liquid at one go, then poured in more "How have you been? I'm sorry i couldn't reach out i just..." "Its okay. You don't hav

Almost a whole minute passed with all four quiet, the revelations sinking in. It was then that the sent guard walked in with a singles mattress and a blanket. He went on to carefully place quivering Julia on it and covered her with the blanket, the four victims still wound up in their different thoughts"Whoaa wait wait what the hell did you just say to Julia?!" fumed Raymond forcing himself out of Joshua's grip and he similarly did not bother to shove him back. He was too baffled to"You were not going to shoot me were you?" mumbled Raymond"Of course not!" cursed Joshua his gaze finding his wife, "What do you mean bombed our farm what are you talking about?" he asked further confusing a confusion struck Raymond"You know what? Julia had subsequently grown numb from all the pain, her feet being something she wasn't sure she still had. She struggled to open her eyes, eyelids heavy and body threatening to pass out. She released a painful cough, her gaze sweeping around the area and she realize she could no longer see properly. Everything seemed blurry, and a voice had her turning to trace it"Boss, at this rate she might die. She is weak." one of the men said. Richard walked closer and examined her. Although her vision was blurred, she could see him looking closely into her scarred face, she wished he would kill her already, the pain being unbearable any longer. But before she died, she saw it as a chance to satisfy her curiosity. Why did this family possess a picture her mother possessed as well. Maybe she once worked for them they were a rich family, and her mother was a maid"The...that picture." she whispered just as she let out a dry cough, blood almost splattering on Richard

Ricky felt like he was in some car racing tournament moments after he told Joshua the truth. Joshua wanted to get home at that point, he couldn't just go to Richards house he was unarmed. All he wanted was to arm himself and then leave. But he still couldn't figure out why Julia would be in a dungeon in Richard's house."Did he find out about their relationship?" he asked himself but there was no true telling to that. Another possibility crept in, Julia was an assassin, so maybe Richard had been the target? But he immediately dismissed it, Julia wouldn't kill Raymond's father she loved him. Or so he thought. After struggling to come up with a possibility that makes sense Joshua and Ricky finally arrived home. He immediately got out of the car but was greeted by a sharp pain to his chest. He was still bandaged and his wound not fully recovered, but that was the least of his problems. He wanted Julia in the house, in his sight and safe! He didn't care what she trained in

Richard wore a black shirt, knee length pair of shorts and sandals walking into the room. Besides the three guards he walked in with, two more came in both carrying torches which immediately lit up the room. Julia looked at the six men staring her down and felt like she was going to collapse. She felt very hungry and was consequently losing her strength, but there was no way she was going down without a fight"Young lady, you came into the lion's den, all by yourself and now you are tied like a criminal in the dungeon awaiting your miserable death." he said stooping down to her level and staring at her cold eyes"Yes i did it. I bombed the place. But for me to kill a beautiful young woman like yourself will be completely uncalled for don't you think? But then again if i hadn't caught you who knows what you would have done?" Julia spit into his face further infuriating him. Out of nowhere a cold hard slap landed on her face while Richard stood to his feet cl

"So she is a thief too." scoffed Richard as the guards pulled her away. He picked up the broken frame and looked at it now left on his own. He closed the door and walked over to his seat, his eyes still set on the picture particularly at Helen. She was all he thought about, and she wasn't on her own in that cell but with his grandchild. And now Raymond on the other hand had witnessed a part of his brutality first hand after all the work he had put in to ensure his children never witness any of his dirty deeds. It had happened and there was no way to reverse it Raymond would have to get over it. But somehow it still got to him how he had failed his children. He felt like he had lost the bet his ego felt bruised. He was already getting sleepless nights because of Helen, the media creating all sorts of stories about his family and now Raymond was about to hate him for what he had witnessed. He felt as if his ex wife was right when she told him he can never be a good father to the child

Raymond walked out of his room following the screaming and stood by the door stunned by the guards trying to kick the locked door open. Julia was the first person that came to his mind, and he immediately ran over just as the door was kicked to the floor. Raising his gaze, he met with an unfamiliar face, the clothing on her body being the only familiar thing to him. They were Julia's pyjamas. But why was she in Julia's pyjamas in fact, where was Julia?"******The rest of the girls ran into the house to witness whatever commotion was happening while Julia rolled the paper she had been reading and shoved it back into her skirts. She could feel the discomfort of having both the papers and the picture underneath her skirts but she wasn't letting any of them go, all she wanted was to get out of that place as soon as she can. She was beginning to realize the amount of danger she was slowly drowning into and to worsen the situation, she was completely unarmed. Ch

It was a beautiful room, a medium sized book shelf stationed by one of the corners books neatly stacked. Her eyes found their way to his bedside where there was a picture of Helen then on the right side a picture of Raymond. His kids were indeed his life"Isn't sir Raymond so handsome? I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life just looking at him." said the girl lifting up the picture, "I wouldn't mind sir Joshua either, he is so beautiful!" she said snapping Julia back to reality"You know Joshua?" she asked clearly aghast. The girl spared her a stunned look before placing back the picture"Don't be funny Thuba weren't we drooling over him was it last year lost your memory?
