Awkward. That was the exact word to describe the happenings in Joshua's house. After hearing from Raymond about what Julia had said to him, he had tried his best never to cross paths with her within the house. They were hardly in each other's company and Joshua had relocated into the spare room. Now that was the sudden definition of awkward
"Avoiding me won't solve anything you know." her voice startled him just as he was about to walk out of the house. That was the first time they had spoken in almost a week thus ever since he found out"Why did you do it?""What?""Why did you lie about being blind since birth? You may have swayed Raymond off that topic but i am not Raymond so why did you lie?""Like you said you are not Raymond, so i am not answering any question coming from you.""Why do i get the vibe that you are hiding more than you have let out Julia? My gut feeling is never wrong." he asked makingTimothy stealthily walked into his boss' office after being summoned. His mind was still on suspicious Helen whom he had found pacing to and fro in the living room as soon as he walked in. She looked very troubled and concluded it must have been the police issue, making him want to know why she was hiding what had happened and what truly had happened that night. Surely she had not killed all those men and saved herself, there was someone else but who? "Sit Tim." he said to the lad whose concentration was quick to get back to him, the last thing he would want was Richard popping his nose into the matter, he may end up finding out more than he should "I did tell you about k53 right?" "Yes boss. Do you have new plans?" "Yes, and i think i may know how to neutralize the president. But the plan has holes in it." "How do you mean sir?" "I was planning of sending one of my own after the lad, then remove him permanently
After letting a grumpy Julia rest her arm on his, the "happy couple" walked into the club getting swallowed in the lingering darkness which was rather strange. Few moments ago the club was well lit and full life yet..."Surprise!!!" the sound of that scared the both of them as the room lit up. It was well decorated looking nothing like a club and a limited number of formally dressed men and women scattered all around. The duo was quick to scan the place both of them equally shocked, wasn't it supposed to be a brand launch of some sort? Or were they lost? A light applause slapped them back to reality as a short grumpy man of fair complexion surfaced from the crowd, he was of age probably in his fifties and on his face was a half smile filled with both fear and happiness. He wasn't sure on how to go about it and Julia on the other hand was sure she had seen him somewhere before"Ricky? I thought...""You will have to forgive us sire...well we tho
Joshua found himself drawing her closer and finding comfort in what he knew was wrong. It was as if nobody else was there, just two of them and their intense stares had him seeing his lost lover in Julia and that was not the first time it had happened. The day he had accompanied her shopping was another incident still fresh in his head, he had caught her when she was about to fall, and strangely it had reminded him of her, of Melissa. Just as he roamed his hands around her back as they kissed, she was immediately snatched away and before he knew it, a hard blow landed on his left cheek his lip cracking open. Silent murmurs followed and Joshua found himself staring back at his best friend while instinctively wiping off the blood oozing from the opening"Ray....""Shut up!" screamed Raymond making everyone go mute. Besides, it wasn't a shocker that Joshua was in trouble. He had been attacked at the club more times than they could remember mostly when a busine
The journey back home was spent in awkward silence. Julia sat all quiet right next to Joshua, her hands holding on tight to her walking stick and if it had a voice it would have screeched out in pain. The gate automatically opened as soon as they approached and Joshua was the first to get out of car. As he approached Julia's door he felt rather nervous. He had kissed women as a once off and walked off with no feelings attached, but the nerves this time were getting the better of him, especially having briefly mistaken her for Melissa at the club. He knew she died, but who was this woman making him see his lost love in her? He eventually opened the door and let her out as they walked straight into the house."I uhm...I'm sorry i didn't mean to kiss you its just that...""Its okay...didn't mean to kiss you either." he said walking up the stairs and straight into his study banging the door afterwards. Julia looked on for a while a lot of wild and weird thought
After a moment of silence, Joshua uncomfortably cleared his throat and turned to meet Julia's hopeful gaze. He wondered if she had by chance went through his private things but no, she was blind there was no way, so how did she know his name? Even Raymond didn't know it nobody did. Choosing to ignore how she had called him he opened his mouth to protest but she took a step closer, her eyes boring into his and that was it, his suspicions were confirmed. She wasn't blind at all"I uhm...i will clear this mess." he turned to leave but she beat him to it. She ran to block his way, staring intensely into his eyes"Its you right? You are Harris...its you right?""I don't know what you are talking about." he shoved her aside but she held on to his hand yet he wouldn't turn to look at her, his uncertainty getting the better of him. He knew Mel had died in that incident there was no way she would have survived, she was in the house when it exploded he h
Silence hung around the room as the trio gawked at surprised Joshua. He stared at equally shocked Julia then back at the two siblings. Helen looked on eyes glowing hope then it dawned on him why Helen had been threatening to spill the beans to the police. What followed next was rather unexpected, a thunderous laughter erupted from his throat and tears streamed out shocking the three. He looked at Helen and laughed again as he wiped off the tears from the laughter yet somehow the sight of him laughing had Julia forgetting the situation they were in for a split second"So you wanted to trap me with a pregnancy?" he asked then laughed out loud again, "You know Helen, i never thought you could be this sly you know.""Wait what is going on here?" asked Raymond sounding very pissed"I neve
Upon being summoned by the man himself the following morning, Helen found herself staring back at the mirror rehearsing exactly what she was going to say to her father. Telling the truth was not an option and although she had grown to hate Timothy, she didn't hate him enough to send him to an early grave or rather that thought had not crossed her mind just yet. She stealthily walked out of her room straight into the old man's where she took a deep breath before entering, finding him staring out the window her eyes darting all over his back"Father, you called." she said just as he turned, and the look in his eyes scared the daylight out of her"Who is the father?" That was it. Exactly what she had expected, no beating around the bush"Father i can explain...""Who is the father of the child you are caring? Do not let me repeat myself." her mind raced debating on whether to tell it as it is or not. Her eyes trailed from him to the b
"Thank you for availing yourself. I will make it quick.""You better.""Miss Helen Mathe, where were you on the night Darian was killed?" Helen swallowed and shifted for comfort before finding Dylan's eyes. At that point she had mixed feelings, they had come too quick and she hadn't made up her mind as yet"Don't tell Helen. Don't say anything." she could still hear the last statement Raymond had said to her before the police had taken her. She had expected her father to appear at the scene but like always, he stayed huddled up in his soundproof study"I do not know what you are talking about." she found herself lying while staring back into his eyes. Although it was last minute, she just had to gear up her acting boots"Helen, you do know that if we found out you lied to cover a crime it will backfire right? Not even your father can save you.""I do not know what you are talking about detective. You have

Joshua made a slight knock before entering Raymond's house a whole three months later. It had been one hell of a task for all of them to live through the trauma, and even harder to tell Helen since she was pregnant but Raymond did still, she had to know. Non of them had healed since then but they were trying "Hey." he said walking over to the bed where he sat with a pile of papers work subsequently being the only thing keeping him sane. "Hey come on in." he smiled carefully placing the papers away before going to join him on the couch. Joshua helped himself to the wine on the little table before him, pouring another glass for Raymond. Nothing was the same anymore, and that was the first time they were seeing each other since that dreaded day "I just wanted to check on you." said Joshua with a sip. Raymond gulped the wine liquid at one go, then poured in more "How have you been? I'm sorry i couldn't reach out i just..." "Its okay. You don't hav
Julia felt like puking, and Raymond froze in place. As for Joshua, he was still trying to understand what in the world was happening at that point. Almost a whole minute passed with all four quiet, the revelations sinking in. It was then that the sent guard walked in with a singles mattress and a blanket. He went on to carefully place quivering Julia on it and covered her with the blanket, the four victims still wound up in their different thoughts"Whoaa wait wait what the hell did you just say to Julia?!" fumed Raymond forcing himself out of Joshua's grip and he similarly did not bother to shove him back. He was too baffled to"You were not going to shoot me were you?" mumbled Raymond"Of course not!" cursed Joshua his gaze finding his wife, "What do you mean bombed our farm what are you talking about?" he asked further confusing a confusion struck Raymond"You know what? How about we let father do all the talking and we do all t
Julia had subsequently grown numb from all the pain, her feet being something she wasn't sure she still had. She struggled to open her eyes, eyelids heavy and body threatening to pass out. She released a painful cough, her gaze sweeping around the area and she realize she could no longer see properly. Everything seemed blurry, and a voice had her turning to trace it"Boss, at this rate she might die. She is weak." one of the men said. Richard walked closer and examined her. Although her vision was blurred, she could see him looking closely into her scarred face, she wished he would kill her already, the pain being unbearable any longer. But before she died, she saw it as a chance to satisfy her curiosity. Why did this family possess a picture her mother possessed as well. Maybe she once worked for them they were a rich family, and her mother was a maid"The...that picture." she whispered just as she let out a dry cough, blood almost splattering on Richard
Ricky felt like he was in some car racing tournament moments after he told Joshua the truth. Joshua wanted to get home at that point, he couldn't just go to Richards house he was unarmed. All he wanted was to arm himself and then leave. But he still couldn't figure out why Julia would be in a dungeon in Richard's house."Did he find out about their relationship?" he asked himself but there was no true telling to that. Another possibility crept in, Julia was an assassin, so maybe Richard had been the target? But he immediately dismissed it, Julia wouldn't kill Raymond's father she loved him. Or so he thought. After struggling to come up with a possibility that makes sense Joshua and Ricky finally arrived home. He immediately got out of the car but was greeted by a sharp pain to his chest. He was still bandaged and his wound not fully recovered, but that was the least of his problems. He wanted Julia in the house, in his sight and safe! He didn't care what she trained in
Richard wore a black shirt, knee length pair of shorts and sandals walking into the room. Besides the three guards he walked in with, two more came in both carrying torches which immediately lit up the room. Julia looked at the six men staring her down and felt like she was going to collapse. She felt very hungry and was consequently losing her strength, but there was no way she was going down without a fight"Young lady, you came into the lion's den, all by yourself and now you are tied like a criminal in the dungeon awaiting your miserable death." he said stooping down to her level and staring at her cold eyes"Yes i did it. I bombed the place. But for me to kill a beautiful young woman like yourself will be completely uncalled for don't you think? But then again if i hadn't caught you who knows what you would have done?" Julia spit into his face further infuriating him. Out of nowhere a cold hard slap landed on her face while Richard stood to his feet cl
"So she is a thief too." scoffed Richard as the guards pulled her away. He picked up the broken frame and looked at it now left on his own. He closed the door and walked over to his seat, his eyes still set on the picture particularly at Helen. She was all he thought about, and she wasn't on her own in that cell but with his grandchild. And now Raymond on the other hand had witnessed a part of his brutality first hand after all the work he had put in to ensure his children never witness any of his dirty deeds. It had happened and there was no way to reverse it Raymond would have to get over it. But somehow it still got to him how he had failed his children. He felt like he had lost the bet his ego felt bruised. He was already getting sleepless nights because of Helen, the media creating all sorts of stories about his family and now Raymond was about to hate him for what he had witnessed. He felt as if his ex wife was right when she told him he can never be a good father to the child
Raymond walked out of his room following the screaming and stood by the door stunned by the guards trying to kick the locked door open. Julia was the first person that came to his mind, and he immediately ran over just as the door was kicked to the floor. Raising his gaze, he met with an unfamiliar face, the clothing on her body being the only familiar thing to him. They were Julia's pyjamas. But why was she in Julia's pyjamas in fact, where was Julia?"******The rest of the girls ran into the house to witness whatever commotion was happening while Julia rolled the paper she had been reading and shoved it back into her skirts. She could feel the discomfort of having both the papers and the picture underneath her skirts but she wasn't letting any of them go, all she wanted was to get out of that place as soon as she can. She was beginning to realize the amount of danger she was slowly drowning into and to worsen the situation, she was completely unarmed. Ch
"This room is amazing! Look at this!" said the girl lifting up a flower vase as soon as Tinashe left"It is. Its amazing." she responded her eyes lingering anywhere and everywhere. It was a beautiful room, a medium sized book shelf stationed by one of the corners books neatly stacked. Her eyes found their way to his bedside where there was a picture of Helen then on the right side a picture of Raymond. His kids were indeed his life"Isn't sir Raymond so handsome? I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life just looking at him." said the girl lifting up the picture, "I wouldn't mind sir Joshua either, he is so beautiful!" she said snapping Julia back to reality"You know Joshua?" she asked clearly aghast. The girl spared her a stunned look before placing back the picture"Don't be funny Thuba weren't we drooling over him was it last year lost your memory? And why does your voice sound different?" she said shocking Julia
