Chapter Two : I want to see my fiance, Alessandro

Casting some frantic glances around the room, her lips dropped in irritation.

"Where is my cousin?" her voice sounded hoarse and a nurse quickly helped her drink some water.

"She came here briefly and left".

The Doctor sighed and left the two ladies alone in case the patient needed to relieve herself.

After wetting her throat, she asked "Can I have your phone, please? I need to make a call".

"I……. I….. Okay", the nurse stuttered.

On getting the little mobile phone, Mai smiled brightly and typed in a string of numbers she knew by heart.

Placing it beside her left ear, she listened to the automated ringing of the phone. Mia counted down in her heart that soon the man she treasures would pick up.

After three consecutive times, he did not pick up the call. The light in her eyes dimmed and she reluctantly handed back the phone.

"In case the person calls back, please tell him that a certain Mia Arturo called", she laid down and drew the blanket to her chin level.

The nurse took that as a cue to leave the sullen-looking teenager alone.

Mia's day was spent with her looking out of the window absentmindedly.

Her intuition told her that she ought to visit Alessandro. He may be busy at work but as his fiancee, she should be more considerate.

Her pale face flushed a little bit when she thought of him. Without wasting time, Mia slipped out of the hospital ward unnoticed.

Taking in a sharp breath of fresh air, Mia exhaled softly and began to think of how to get to his office.

Many people cast suspicious glances at her.

"A teenager in a patient uniform?"

"Did she break loose from a mental home?"

"Maybe we need to call the police. It's not safe out there with such a person around".

Their faces showed a horrified look.

After spending an hour stopping cabs on the road, she finally got one that helped her.

When the majestic building came into view, her heartbeat accelerated by thousands of times. 

Mia couldn't wait for the driver to park properly so she dashed out at the speed of lightning.

"Hello Miss, this is not a hospital", the bulky security personnel gave her a fierce look.

"I know but I want to see my fiance, Alessandro. It's urgent".

He couldn't hold back his laughter and his face turned stone cold.

"Bitches like you come here every day to claim that our CEO is their fiance. Hey! It's enough. I think you need some medical therapy for your brain. Move aside and run along", he pushed her away roughly and she fell.

"No, I'm not lying. We are engaged. I'm the granddaughter of the Arturos. Alessandro, Alessandro, come out. These people are bullying me". Mia stood up and yelled while jumping around to look for an entrance.

The noise attracted some workers who came out to watch the show.

"I know our CEO is hot but it's weird to be chased by a Lunatic".

"She isn't worth the look not to talk of being our CEO's fiancee".

"Doesn't she know that our CEO has a fiancee already?"

"I bet she is clueless, else she wouldn't be jumping around like a cat on a hot roof".

Mia caught those bits of information and processed them. By the time she understood it, her already pale face was drained of whatever colour was left.

What are they saying? Is it true? Does Alessandro have another fiancee? No! She would make sure they take back their words the next time she sees him.

But the reality was harsh because their gazes and mocking laughter kept entering her ears and sight.

Staggering while looking at the sky, a bitter smile graced her lips. Mia couldn't help but shed some tears because of the man she loved with her entire being.

With a dazed look, she wiped away her tears harshly. Mia didn't care about the blood that seeped out of the wound when she grazed her palms earlier.

Little wonder he has not been picking up her calls lately.  

She had been naive and foolish all this while.

On the last floor of the building Mia just left, a tall and handsome young man left the meeting room. His subordinates who were old enough to be his father gathered around him.

"In our next meeting, we shall talk about how to acquire that land for our next project. Let's all keep an eye on the land", he said while adjusting his tie.

The subordinates nodded with excited expressions and said one or two words of flattery before taking their leave. He was left alone with his assistant.

"Speak"

"Miss Arturo has been waiting for you".

"How long has she waited for me?"

A touch of gentleness was on his brow compared to when he spoke to his subordinates earlier on.

"More than an hour sir".

Alessandro quickened his steps which left the assistant gaping at him.

The beautiful woman on the couch was going through the gallery on her phone when a familiar perfume wafted into her nostrils.

Aurora found herself in the air as the man buried his head in her bosom.

Giggling, she begged to be let down and a passionate kiss followed.

Her heavy bosom rose and fell while she emitted this unique scent exclusive to after a passionate moment.

His eyes darkened and his throat went dry.

"You don't know how much I have missed you Aurora", he purred like a kitten.

Aurora was filled with delight to hear this from the man who controlled the business world. With a snap of his fingers, the economy of the country can crumble.

She had gone through so much to get him and all she wanted was to have him cling to her just like now.

Pouting, Aurora ran her hands on his chest in a sensual way.

"But my cousin….. she came here a few minutes ago and caused a ruckus. I'm sure you will be in the news headlines tomorrow".

His face turned ice cold and he trembled slightly with anger.

Catching her hands, he pinned her to the couch and kissed her furiously.

"She means nothing to me. Don't worry, I will use the company's social media accounts to cut off all ties with her. Besides, my family and I have never publicized my relationship with her. Let's say it's her wild guesses'', he kissed her fingertips and she let out a soft moan.

The woman's lashes covered the darkness in her eyes.

Mia, the game is about to be over. Watch out

What happened in the next hour would make people blush uncontrollably.

Fortunately, the office walls were soundproofed hence her loud moans were not heard.

The rain had started falling and most cars slowed down. Mia trembled slightly but she didn't feel like leaving the rain anytime soon.

She let it pour on her with the hope that she would wake up to face reality.

The opposite was the case because Mia overestimated her body's capability to support her through it all.
