Scarlett's POV

"Would you get inside now, and stop attracting unnecessary attentions?" Ryan's cold voice brought me back to reality, and I stared blankly at passersby who had already stopped to watch me.

I clutched my head, trying to ease the severe ache I felt. I was sick to my stomach, my mouth as dry as a desert, and swallowing the lump in my throat felt like taking a bitter pill.

I stood up from the floor and wiped the back of my pants, then entered the car. Curious drivers were still watching me, so I wanted to avoid any more attention.

Once I sat in the car, the raised door closed down, trapping me alone with Ryan, and I whimpered.

I felt scared, and Ryan's cold aura circled the dark car, and breathing felt like a sin, because I felt like an offender.

I remained silent, staring at my trembling hands placed on my thighs. Ryan hadn't said a word after telling me to get into his car. He didn't even ignite the car's engine. It was eerily silent.
