Ryan's POV

As soon as I ended the call with Scarlett, I dashed out of my office and hurried into the elevator. It would take me to the tenth floor where Scarlett was.

I didn't want to hear any heart-wrenching stories, and I knew I shouldn't have allowed Scarlett to fight. Even though she was only two months pregnant, a forceful kick or blow to her stomach could lead to a miscarriage.

I hadn't really considered the consequences before giving her permission to fight. I hoped I wouldn't regret it.

When the elevator doors opened, I stepped into the crowded corridor on the tenth floor. It dawned on me that the commotion going on was no ordinary fight.

I maneuvered my way through the occupied crowd, trying to go unnoticed.

As soon as I came out in front of the crowd, I winced as Scarlett's opponent delivered a kick to her stomach.

I clenched my fist beside me while Scarlett released her grip on the lady, her hands protectively clutching her stomach.
