Dave’s father had been sick for weeks now and not getting any better. The doctors say it is from a broken heart, but Dave and his brothers knew better. After their mother died his father refused to come out of their room. He said that he could not live without her, which was understandable. They have been together for centuries and she was his whole life. Not even his kingdom which he fought so hard for matter anymore. The King's brother, his uncle was elected to make sure that everything in the kingdom ran smoothly until Dave could take over the throne. But his was not a broken heart. His skin was turning yellow and he was getting very thin. Before they could even think of investigating, he died, and all thoughts of investigating were forgotten.
It was a Tuesday morning and he and his brothers were sitting in the hallway that leads to their fathers’ room. Even though there were chairs now they always sat on the floor with their backs against the wall. One of the brothers still smirked and they all knew that he was thinking back to the days when the hallway had no carpets and they all had to sit on the cold cement, waiting for a beating for something stupid they all did. One thing about the brothers, they were inseparable, and they all got into trouble together. Their mother used to always try and calm her husband down but failed miserably. He believed in teaching his boys that they should take responsibility for their actions.
Dave was sitting in his chamber when his brothers all barged into his room and he knew exactly why they were there. The throne was empty, and the people needed a king. “I know,” Dave said before anyone could say anything.
Dewayne was standing with his mouth open when he heard Dave talk and he growled a bit in frustration. “Every time! Every time I want to say something you do this. Why can you not just give me one time to say what I want to say before you say it?” Dave smirked and looked at his brother. “You’re not quick enough, but I will keep that in mind” They all laughed but then turned silent. Dave turned around and looked at them all. “I am leaving in the morning before sunrise. I do not want anyone to know that I am gone. Hopefully, this will not take long, and I will be back in about six months”This time Dave let Dewayne speak his mind, but nothing came from him.
When he looked at him, he could see the unshed tears and got up. “I know, but I will be fine. Just keep my pack under control and all will be fine”
After the last meal, they all said their goodbyes as they did not want to know what time Dave was leaving making it easier for them to lie. It was a hard goodbye but a necessary one. Dave could not fall asleep that night, so he decided to pack his bag and leave before the intended time. As he was walking to the stables, he heard someone follow him. As he turned around, he saw a woman approaching him very cautiously, hand in the air.
“Dave, I mean you know harm, but harm is going to come to you and you need to listen to my” At first he didn’t understand what she meant, but then he saw that she had a glowing eye and he knew she was a witch.
When she saw that he realized she was a witch, she dropped the hood of her cape and lifted her hands again. “Please you need to listen to me. I am not the enemy here, but you do have one and he will stop at nothing to end you and your brothers”
That caught his attention and he nodded. She came closer and motioned for him to follow her into one of the empty stables. Waiting patiently for her to speak, but when she just fiddled with her fingers, he got a bit irritated and raised his voice “Talk!” when she jumped, he regretted it immediately. “Sorry, I am just not good at waiting”
Lifting her head, she looked him straight in the eye. “I need you to listen, like really listen and not to react, please. I cannot have you not pay attention to what I am about to tell you. You cannot change anything, but you can listen to me and when the time comes you can do whatever you need to. Tell me you understand…...please”
Dave knew this was serious and he nodded before saying it out loud, having to hear his own voice to the promise.
“Your uncle killed your father. He wants the thrown and you and your brothers gone. When I say gone, I mean dead. He has taken on the help of a very powerful witch and her powers are almost endless. I do not have time to explain everything, but I need you to do exactly as I say.” Before she continued, she pulled her hand through her hair and sighed. “I know all this because the witch that is helping him is my twin and I have been watching her and know what her plans are” Now he knew how Dewayne felt every time he used to answer before he could say anything. He smirked and when he sees the witch’s face, he just waved his hand and motioned her to continue.
“She is going to try and separate you from your wolf. Basically, killing him and leaving you alive. That way you will never be able to shift and protect yourselves against the onslaught that will be sent your way. Everyone will think that you were killed, and I can tell you know that your brothers will try to find who did this and they will fall into the same trap. We want this to happen because that is the only way I can save them. I have made a potion that will put your wolf to sleep. That way she will not be able to break. I will need to put a spell on you to keep you hidden for some time until my sister is weak enough to be defeated. She will never admit to anyone that she is weak and will try to hide it from everyone, including your uncle.” She looked up at him and saw that he was paling but listening.
“I am going to have to trap you in a volcano. That way my sister will not be able to detect you and when the time comes you would not have aged. Time will stand still for you, but a lot of things might change in the time you are away”
Dave put his hand up and she got a bit annoyed with his action but tried not to show it. “How long” when she shook his head, he knew it was not going to be a week or months, but years. She looked at him and sighed “100 years” The sharp inhale was expected but when he stood up, she got a bit scared and tried to stop him from walking away.
“Please, I know this doesn’t make any sense, but please listen to me.” Taking a vile out from the inside of her cloak she puts it on a nearby table.
“Please take this as soon as possible” He could see the desperation in her eyes and took the vile swirling it before drinking it all in one go. “Ok now what?” Dave asked rather annoyed. She looked at him and a tear rolled down her cheek. “Now you go and get killed. It is not going to be easy, but I will take care of you after that and when you return. I will help you find your brothers too” He reached out to wipe her tear, but that only made more roll down.
“What is your name?” he asked softly. Shaking her head, she almost whispered “No-one” He tried to not get annoyed but when he asked again, she looked him straight in the eye. “I AM No-one. I was never given a name at birth as I was weak and nearly died. A peasant couple took me in and raised me as their own, but it did not take long for me to find out the truth when I got older. But that is not important. What is important is that you need to find all your brothers before you can take on your uncle. You cannot take him on by yourself. That you need to remember.”
He nodded and was about to leave when something hit him. “What will happen to my brothers?”
She has not turned away yet instead, she was looking at her hands as if she wanted to say something else but decided not to. “I will hide them just like I am going to hide you, but it has to be far away from each other so that the bond between you van not be sensed. You will be dead to the world, but not to each other” With that she disappeared, and he was left standing alone with just his thoughts.
Marina woke up with a start. Feeling for her bed lamp switch she bumps over her water bottle and lets out a scream. Switching on her light she looks around and finds no one around her. Her breathing still fast and uneven. Moving off the bed she cringes when pain shoots through her bones. “What the hell?” trying to get up again the pain subsides, and after a couple of seconds, she moved around like there was no pain at all. Frowning she looks at the clock and sees it is nearly time for her to get up anyway. Before running a bath, she decides to make a cup of coffee. Staring at it for a minute she thinks about the week that has passed. This has been the strangest week ever. First the dreams, then the craving for coffee but the constant quarreling with her inner voice has been non-stop. It is like she has changed into a whole new person, well voice.
Dave crashed to the ground, at it felt like every bone in his body was broken. It almost felt like the first time he shifted and that was bad. He just laid there for a few minutes not caring where it was until he heard something. He tried to move, but he could feel that he wasn’t even close to being able to move. He was determined to find his brothers and being killed now wasn’t ideal. When he heard the sound again tears started to roll down his cheek. In the last 100 years, he could not feel or sense his wolf, not one bit and he was afraid that he was gone, completely.Thinking back to the day that he was kidnapped by the witches’ minions he remembered how they tried to get his wolf from surfacing. He nearly died or it felt that way. They tried everything but the worst was when they cut him from his chin to his belly button. Stupid things had no brain. Thinking that they could find
Mike decided to flank the man who was now rushing towards Marina. He heard him say ‘mine’ and that made him angry. He knew exactly what that meant. This man was a werewolf and wanted to lay claim to what was supposed to be Mike’s. What made his blood boil was when he heard those words came out of Marina’s mouth. He never knew that she was a werewolf, but when he heard the second wolf-like voice saying mine at the same time as Marina, he knew immediately she was. He wasn’t sure she knew. How could she?He met her on her 14th birthday. She had just been adopted by the Donaldson family who taught at his high school. Their eldest son, Casper was celebrating his 18th birthday. Darius was pacing up and down in one of the rooms where they put Dave to recover. It was a private room with a bathroom equipped with a shower and everything he would need when he wakes up. The female they found was in the room next door. Both of them were still out and they were all getting very worried. They could guess why Dave was in this condition, but the female was still a mystery. She had protected Dave and they owed her for that. Pulling on his hair he groaned and went to sit in the chair that was in the corner of the room. That didn’t help much, and he was back to pacing up and down. He heard a soft knock and quietly opened the door. The nurse that was watching the female was standing in front of the door. “The female is starting to wake up, but it could still be a while. She is muttering a lot of things that don’t make much sense but we will need to give her something to calm her down. They have sent a scout to see what he can find i
Dave knew he had seen those eyes before. He knew that they have met before but he could not remember when. He could see the panic in them and when it looked like she wanted to run he started to panic. “No, don’t go…” Dave watched as she was taking in his words but it still looked like she wanted to run. “Please stay” Dave was shocked by his own words. He has never begged before, but the feeling inside him was too strong for him to care. He wanted her to stay and he waited to see whether she was going to stay or not. The need for her to stay grew stronger and stronger the longer she just stood there. She stood there for another second until someone came rushing toward them.Marina quickly entered the room and closed the door softly so no one would hear it. Marina stood there shocked at watched him walk away not looking at her. He sounded pissed and the words were like a knife stabbing her in her heart. Never before had she felt so hurt. She nearly ran to the room where all her things were but found nothing. She walked out of the room and when she passed someone with her things she grabbed them before running outside. She looked around not know where she was and headed in the direction she thought was the camp. She had a feeling that someone was watching her and when she looked up she saw him looking at her through a window with what seemed like hatred in his eyes. She took off running tears now freely running down her cheeks.Dave saw Marina walk out of the hospital, his heart broken into pieces. Marina was tired when she reached her flat. She dragged her feet while fiddling for her keys inside her bag. When she finally found them she opened her door and forgot to lock it. Throwing her stuff on the kitchen counter, not something she would ever do, she walked to the bathroom and ran herself a bath. All she wanted to do was soak all her problems away and forget the last couple of days ever happened. Walking to her wine rack she heard her phone ring again. It has been ringing a couple of times so it must be important. She had 27 miss calls most of which she didn’t know the number, her brothers and Mike, which was the last one. A cold shiver went down her spine and she quickly phoned her brother. After the second ring, Roule answered “Mina, where in God’s name have you been? We have been worried..” Marina cut him short in a panic. “Not now. Can you come over, it is really important and you need to do it fast” There was sil
Dave could see that she was thinking about what he just said but she was taking too long to respond so he pulled her up against him again and kissed her. This time it was softer, less urgent. He didn’t want her to feel forced and wanted to let her know that he wasn’t going to harm her. As soon as she wrapped her arms around his neck he pulled her even closer. His erection was straining against his pants and he could smell her arousal ache even more. He so wanted to take her but he wanted to go at her pace. No matter how much it would hurt to restrain himself, he would wait for her to be ready. For now, he would just enjoy her soft lip and her hand in his hair. She tasted so good to him that he didn’t want to stop but then remembered the food. He pulled away and heard her moan. He giggled, actually giggled, and kissed her on the nose. “You need to eat. You are fading away”
Dave had been calling Marina several times, non-stop actually. He was very annoyed when he couldn’t phone her while on the plane. He was anxious about getting off the plane so he could phone her. He was worried he wouldn’t get to her in time and her not answering made him worry even more. It was almost 5 am when the plane landed and DeWayne had to almost run to keep up. He would have come alone if it wasn’t for the fact that he knew nothing of the new world. That made him annoyed even more. According to DeWayne, it would take them 45 min to reach Marina’s place and to him, it was 45min too long. Then a man answered Marina’s phone and he heard himself growl. “I urgently need to speak to Marina. It is of utmost importance.” Dave tried to sound normal but he could hear his anger. “What are you also a were
No-One looked at her surroundings and sighed. She swore she would never end up in this situation again and yet here she was. The cave was dark and musty with hardly any natural light. Oh, how she missed the sunlight. The warm sun shining on her skin and a breeze playing with her gold hair. Now she was stuck doing unthinkable things for her sister after being caught over 20 years ago. Well, she planned on being caught to cover up her plans. It took a lot of planning which she was hoping was working out as planned. After making sure that all 7 brothers were tucked away where no one would find them till the very last week, she had put in certain measures to make sure that there were people that would be able to help the brothers find each other. It took almost 50 years to find their mates and make sure their paths would cross at a certain time.
