Chapter 13. Darcus' POV. The strange lady came out with a weird smile on her face that depicted her hesitance to see me. The only problem here was that I didn't know why she was this scared. For all I knew I have never met her in my entire life and that was why I was drawn. "You look spooked. Do I repulse you that much?" I asked jokingly, trying to reduce my hardened countenance. A lot of people have been afraid to ever discuss with me because my face was scary. She was also in that category because her eyes remained focused on the ground, telling me that there was something more than she wanted to let on. "Uhm... I'm sorry if I sounded rude the first time but I have been through a lot of the past few days and just wanted to crash. I hope I do not disappoint you." She said, still looking at the floor but having greater control over her reaction. Her shoulders were taut, almost like a coiled spring waiting to snap and shatter into pieces. Chapter 12. Lucinda's POV. He's here! The severity of his presence weighed deeply in my mind. This wasn't a friendly visit. He was probably here because of what he had heard and now it was my duty to pretend like it wasn't true. I didn't want to be in the mix of people who would shove things under the carpet just to be able to feel good. I fixed my face and walked out. "Good evening, sir. May I ask what you want?" I said in a cheerful tone masking my fear. Darcus' heated gaze ran across my full length and I felt a bit weird. I knew deep down that this was going to escalate. I just didn't know how far it would go. "I need two donuts, and some juice or whatever you have." He said, his eyes raking all over my body in perusal yet sending sparks down my body. "Um... Sorry to disappoint you, sir, but we are close for the night." I laughed nervously, hoping that he would take the hint and move on. I locked gazes with my server who looked at me as though I had run mad. If I didn't di

Chapter 11.Lucinda's POV. The day was hectic especially with the fact that Lily had not resumed due to her child's illness. Shuffling between being the baker and also the care responding to messages and hoping that the orders were not going to choke me one of these days. I yawned stylishly not wanting people to notice that I was tired and could drop dead one of these days if care wasn't taken. My twins were beginning to suck so much that I had to express breast milk every now and then due to the doctor's advice. Sometimes I blamed myself for thinking that I could be strong enough to juggle motherhood and also work because now I was doing poorly at it and I didn't even need anyone to tell me that. I laughed at myself before wiping my wrist over my face. I needed to be taken into a massage or spa unit where my bones would be flattened out, probably deboned just so that I could resemble a proper human after a long time. My mind flashed to my baby daddy as I worked on the last piec

I refused to let this weigh me down as I proceeded into the pack house. We were supposed to have a meeting with alpha Bryan but he showed up in marvelous way such as always asking what I was here for and how exactly I should be comfortable in his presence without having to worry about a lot of things. I mean it's not always going to be easy but we can always find time to always check up on each other and I appreciate this. Chapter 9Lucinda's POV. Two Months Later, I headed straight into the back of the kitchen, sales had been a little bit slow for a while now and I thought that it would not make any sense if I went ahead to do something that could potentially harm my business. I looked away when I saw Jeff's Messenger coming towards me to take his money. Ever since he could locate my shop he had made my life a living hell but I had no choice but to pay him his commission. I was going to put my foot down one of these days but it wasn't yet time and I needed to be secure before doing anything that could ruin my life. The doorbell dinged as he walked in. "I'm looking for Layla." He said with his nose in the air.I watched him as he proceeded towards the kitchen after I had told my staff never to stop him whenever he came around because it was kind of like my punishment for not doing what I should have done right on time. "Now that you have managed to come here even before I invited you, what do you
