Chapter: Chapter 5
HAILEY:Sarah stands up from her seat. Saying she is shocked would be an understatement because she looks more than that. She takes a few steps backward as she stares at me weirdly. It was as if she needed to have a better view of me but I knew what stunt she was trying to pull.“I refuse to believe it,” she says, still staring at me weirdly.“Believe what?”“That Jax Reinhard would actually tell you to his woman,” and in a rush, she was standing right in front of me. She then starts to examine me which actually seems weird to me. “Tell me what you did to him to make him fall head over heels with you. Did you charm your way into his heart?”“Stop,” I say as I shove her hands off me. “Nothing like that happened,”“Then why else would he tell you to be his woman? It’s obvious he has fallen for you.”I shake my head. “If only you’ll just calm down and listen to me before jumping into conclusions,”As if on cue, she sits back down. Then she says, “Is there supposed to be something else ot

Chapter: Chapter 4
HAILEY:I get out of my room in only a nightgown as I head straight for the kitchen. What I need now is something hot that would keep me from sleeping in again because that has been my routine all day. It was surely the effect of the hangover.By the time I get out of the kitchen, I have in my hand a mug filled with hot coffee which I start to sip without minding the degree. It is apparently something I do a lot.I collapse on the sofa in my tiny living room, feeling a bit better after taking a few sips of the coffee. My eyes shift to the window, and through it, I can see that nighttime has kicked in already. This just about sums up how long I’ve slept all day since I arrived from the location I never intended to find myself in.‘Be my woman...’‘...it’s only going to be for a month.’Those words ring in my head as I keep staring at the window. It would have felt ridiculous but knowing what was involved, I'm making it something that should be important. Especially with my present situ

Chapter: Chapter 3
HAILEY:“Pardon?”“I said: Be my woman.”The sudden laughter I produce is almost close to hysterical. Why? Because I just might have heard the most absurd thing ever known to man.I stop when I felt the need to, looking in the direction of Jax to check his reaction. And I can see how serious he is which means there was no joke when he said that.“How is what you suggested going to help my situation?” I have to ask which would be a way to ensure that we are both into the conversation.“I would never have suggested it if there was no way it was going to help you,” he stops leaning on the wall and stands upright. “Because when I say you should be my woman, I mean for you to take it as a job where you’ll get paid for it. I'm not aiming for a serious relationship. And it’s only going to be for a month,”I am first confused when I hear that. Taking it as a job to get paid? What does that mean? And how would that even work?“Are you talking about a hook-up or what?” I ask for clarification a

Chapter: Chapter 2
HAILEY:My eyes flicker open. And the first thing they come in contact with is a ceiling that is certainly not the ceiling in my room. It prompts me to sit up from whatever bed I am lying on but I instantly regret it.“Ow,” A throb flashes through my brain. It was so painful that, for a minute, I find my eyes spinning. Geez, what was that? When I feel a little better, the first I ask myself is: Where am I?I have no idea where this is, and with the way it looks, I’m sure about it being expensive. Certainly way out of my reach. I do not own enough to afford an apartment with a room as flourishing as this. The chandelier, the fragrance, everything just about sums up the fact that this is not my room. Or am I dreaming? The moment I knew there was more to what is going on here was when I realize that I am unclad. The only thing covering up my naked body is a piece of white sheet. Tugging it off me would reveal nothing underneath. How did I get to this position... naked in an unknown room?

Chapter: Chapter 1
“One more shot, please,” I announce to the bartender behind the booth, shifting my wineglass close to him as he pours me a round of their best tequila shots.“You’re on the sixth, you know,” I hear the bartender say as I take a sip of the liquor which has the taste of goodness. He’s watching me with those inquisitive eyes of his and I put down the glass to gaze properly at him.I manage to nod. “I know,”“Did you come with anyone?”It takes me a while before I respond, “I came alone,” I tell him. And he just nods once before he moves away to attend to a new customer. My eyes are blurry as I try to keep up with the happenings around me. I first take a look at the flat screen mounted atop the collection of drinks behind the booth. Showing on the flat screen was a game of football that totally uninterested me as I look away quickly to gaze around the bar.I catch sight of couples sitting together — most of them I would call friends — and getting down with beers and other condiments to to
