Chapter: Chapter 15 - The chase
Mya stretched out. Her large lioness a brilliant gold she glistened in the sunlight. Her black leg a glaring contrast to the rest of her. She curled her claws into the earth savouring the feeling of the ground giving way. Now this was some training she really enjoyed. The chase, the hunt was a thrill! She looked over to the others as the decided who she would be trying to catch this time. Just as Mya started to get impatient Raina stripped off and changed. Her red fox slunk off into the forest, white tipped tail flicking behind her.Mya sat down, waiting to be given the go ahead to start the hunt. To her surprise Jason and Finley both stripped off and changed. This was different, normally she would only chase down one of them at a time. Storm smiled at her sneakily.“Did you really think we’d carry on making it easy for you?” she called over as she walked towards her.

Chapter: Chapter 14 - Quinn
Mya sits by Quinn’s cage. He’s been in leopard form for over a week without changing back once. He lies on the floor staring at the barn wall blankly. He won’t even acknowledge the existence of the other shifters when they come to see him. He hasn’t shown any interest in food or water just continues to stare at the wall. Finley walks over to join Mya.“Come on my old friend at least change back. We care about you, we will look after you as we always have, we are family” Finley pleads with him. Quinn continues staring at the wall, ignoring his friend’s words. Mya has had enough of his bullshit. She stands up, takes the padlock out of the cage door and swings the door wide open. Finley inhales loudly.“What are you doing? It isn’t safe to open the cage! He will inure himself!” Finley goes to shut the cage door but Mya holds him back.“You know what Finley, I am beyond caring. This idiot has been pan

Chapter: Chapter 13 - New heights
Mya stared up at the scaffolding platform in front of her. The Midnight Mountains pack had been building it over the last few days. Over two hundred feet of metal poles fixed together to create several platforms at different levels stood in front of her. This was one of two towers that had been completed. The one that she currently looked at was stood in the middle of the arena where she had first begun her training. The second stood in an area of woodland that Mya hadn’t even known was within the estate boundary. Considering that at some point in the near future Mya was going to have to jump off of them, both were equally as terrifying as each other.Storm walked around the base of the structure with a satisfied smile on her face. Her thick black tightly curled hair hung to her shoulders accentuating her rich dark skin and dark brown eyes. Her curves and short stature did a good job of concealing how athletic and strong she was. She was no match for the likes of Lisa i

Chapter: Chapter 12 - Devastation
When Mya got back to the cottages she was met by utter silence. She walked past the small houses listening intently as she went. Nothing. She carried on to the barn as she could sense that that was where everyone was. She walked through the giant grey doors. Everyone was sat at the kitchen table. The first aid kits were out again. Finley was in the process of having his face cleaned by Lisa. A huge ragged gash ran from his left temple to his jaw line.“Where is Quinn?”Lisa pointed behind her to the end of the barn while picking a shard of glass out of Finley’s wound with a pair of tweezers. “Down in the cage”. She didn’t bother explaining any further. Very talkative was Lisa!Mya didn’t need to ask twice. Quinn had clearly tried to harm himself and poor Finley had received the brunt of it. Clearly Quinn was unharmed to have been put in the cage. “Anyone for some tea?” a series of nods around the table sent M

Chapter: Chapter 11 - Lunchtime
Mya looked at the clock on the wall twelve noon. She left Lily’s room and shut the door quietly behind her. Remus had said not to get too lost when leaving, he hadn’t said anything about going down to the kitchen on the way out. She walked briskly through the corridors, everything looked the same. It would be so easy to get lost, in fact was she even going the right way? She could smell fresh bread so clearly, she must be close. It should have been easy to get there considering how long she’d lived in the manor. But whenever she had gone anywhere, she had always been following Remus or Beth. She was starting to regret not paying more attention now. She followed the corridors until they came to have to choose to go left or right and just followed her nose all the way until she could hear muted conversation behind a door in front of her. She recognised Beth’s scent here and so pushed open the door. The kitchen went silent as she entered. A gasp came from the ta

Chapter: Chapter 10 - Lily
They walked through the corridors in silence as she mulled over this latest revelation. She stared at the back of his head as he walked in front of her. Although he creeped her out to no end, he was proving to be very useful with information. So as long as she stayed interesting to him, he would continue to be useful to her. They turned a corner and the smell of disinfectant filled her nose. Remus opened a door on their right and walked in. Mya followed but stayed in the doorway. Remus walked over to the bed that was in the middle of the room. There lay an aging woman, her silver hair tousled around her shoulders in thick curls. Her wrinkled skin looked thin and delicate. She had a small frame that looked as though it had been athletic at one stage in her life. She was hooked up to several monitors and a drip line protruded from her left hand. Her eyes closed she looked almost peaceful except for a slight tension that filled the air. Remus lent over as if to whisper to her, her hand
