Chapter: Chapter nineteen Castle Soniva, Summer Court Capital, Faerie Fawn I was looking in the mirror. I had changed once again and gone was the red hair and green eyes. The gold lines on my skin had disappeared also but my tiny fangs and pointed ears remained. My blue-grey eyes and golden blonde hair were back but I had silver mercury swirling around in my eyes much like Fallon's sometimes did. My skin was golden tan again but I had a sleeve of tattoos down one arm that was almost identical to the sleeve on Fallon's arm. I noticed a few small differences but I didn't know what any of the markings meant anyway. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if I turned blue and went the way of Smurfette or that blue woman on Xmen. I definitely felt like a mutant. It happened while I was taking a shower and I had seen the tattoo appear right before my eyes. So now I've been standing in front of the mirror with conditioner still in my hair and water dripping everywhere for at least fifteen minutes.&nb

Chapter: Chapter EighteenI used every dirty trick my aunties taught me, but I didn't have full fae strength yet, and Fallon had that and his magic on his side. So I could only buy around four minutes and a lot of broken furniture before he had me stripped of clothes and cuffed to the headboard.Cian Knocked on the door. "Is everything okay in there?"" NOOOOOOO!" I yelled."YES! Do not open that door, Cian!" Fallon shouted.I heard Cian and my girls laughing and the laughter drifting away. Traitors! See if I ever speak to them again."Nice try, brat."I glared at him."Oh, kitten, now you're just baiting me," he grinned and smacked my ass.Fallon was ruthless. He did, in fact, spank my ass again, and he kept me on the edge of orgasm FOREVER! Then he let us both go over together. We were snuggling in bed, and I was grinning against his cheek."What are you grinning about?" he chuckled."Oh,

Chapter: Chapter SeventeenCastle Soniva, Summer Court Capital, Faerie Fallon " I sent a request to the courts for a summit. I need to find out what is going on with Fawn and if the other courts have experienced anything like it." " Do you think that is wise, my king?" asked Hector, "Should you share a potential weakness in our queen." "Fawn is far from weak. She has an astronomical amount of power, and she was trained to fight by the Valkyre. She's just going through a transition right now. I can sense her power, and she might have more than I do. So don't ever call my mate weak again." Hector looked pissed that I called him out but replied, "My apologies, your grace." "We don't have anything to fight over anymore, Hector. What can they do? We should be helping each other and be united against the Shades," Fallon explained. "He's right," Sebastion agreed, "There hasn't been anything to fight over in nine hundred years. It's time that everyone puts

Chapter: Chapter SixteenSoniva Castle, Summer Court Capital, FaerieFawnI woke up during the night to see Fallon's chest on display in the moonlight. I could tell he was sleeping by his breathing, but I wanted to touch him so bad. So, very lightly, I ran my fingertips across his pecks and a nipple, then down his abs and over a hip. I reached to do it again but was afraid I might wake him, so I put my arm back down to my side."Faeling, you can touch me anytime you want."Fallon grabbed my hand and put it back to his chest, then turned his head and kissed my forehead."I'm sorry if I woke you.""It's okay; you can wake me like that anytime. Are you having trouble sleeping?""I was sleeping fine, but I just woke up for some reason."I started moving my hand along his chest again. Over his pecks and down his abs to his belly button where I followed the trail of hair to the waist of his pajama pants, then trailed them to the side to move my hand al

Chapter: Chapter FifteenSoniva Castle, Summer Court Capital, Faerie Fallon "Just stay calm." Fawn looked up at me and grumbled, "Why do people think that works? Those very words indicate bad things. It does the opposite of calm. So why don't you spill and get it over with." I led her to the downstairs restroom and stood at the open door. "I appreciate the gesture, but I'm good right now. Are you afraid I'll go in my pants or something? Geez, why is everyone so crazy today? Is it that bad? You are really starting to freak me out, fairy!" I started laughing. She's killing me. "No, I don't think you'll go on yourself; just walk inside." She looked at me like I was crazy but walked into the restroom. She then froze and ran back out, taking my arm to pull me away from the door. "Fallon, there's a woman in there," she whispered. I tried to contain it, but I couldn't, and I started roaring with laughter. She glared a

Chapter: Chapter fourteenSoniva Castle, Summer Court Capital, Faerie Fawn I tried not to think about Cassia, implying that she and Fallon were together yesterday. Surely he wouldn't have been with her and then come to me to do what we did. I had to admit, though, that I didn't really know the Summer King and kings have been notorious for infidelity and the like throughout history. It could be the same in Faerie. I was brooding on this when Fallon sat down next to me. So he startled me. I smiled at him and saw the staff start serving breakfast. "Fawn?" "Yes?" "Is something on your mind?" "No, not at all. I was zoning out for a minute there." He gave me a penetrating look, but all I could think of as he did was how utterly disappointed and hurt I would feel if what she implied were true. "Little one, I don't like it when you lie to me." I didn't respond to that. I asked my own question. I had to. "Fallon,

Chapter: Chapter 8DeclanMy brother will die for this, but the girls' safety comes first. I want them out of there. I want Ava home so that I can get her some help. Something is wrong. I could see in the videos that she isn't healing as she should and that the last beating she took was horrendous.Camilla sighed, "Her light went out.""What?""She's not healing because her light went out. Something happened that made her reach her breaking point and her light went out."I could remember Sabin goading her in the video about finding out that I had a woman and how that had finally broken her."No," I whispered anguishedly.Trent spoke up, "This is not helping us get the girls home.""No, it's not, and if we get them home, we can work on Ava's light." Camilla put in."You'll fix her!" I shouted."You'll fix her, Declan! I'll do what I can, but it'll be you that has to get in there."Lasiter took a phone call and step

Chapter: Chapter 7Declan I watched the videos, and that was the worst experience of my life, so I couldn't even imagine how it was for Ava and her sister. I was worried. Ava wasn't healing as a werewolf should, and the last beating she took almost made me come out of my skin. I had vomited several times, watching her go through what she went through. I knew she was still out there, somewhere in pain with injuries. It made me insane that I couldn't just run over there and bust the door down to get to her. "Trent, call Lass and have him station some vampires to watch the pack just in case Sabin gets wind of this and decides to move the girls." "Lasiter called me, and he's already taken care of that." It was good to have good friends. But, that vampire would walk through hell for me, and I would do the same for him. "Goodman! Call the meeting for an hour from now. I need a shower and to get myself and the clues I picked up together." Trent pulled o

Chapter: Chapter 6Trent brought up the file, and it was full of video clips. They each just had the date it was filmed but no caption. I reached over him and scrolled the dates. The first video was taken the day before Ava called off our mating ceremony, then they were just random dates until I saw one was made the night she came to the club, and then several took place that month, and then one was dated today. I chose the one when she went to the club and pressed play. The video started with a basement with chains in a brick wall. Eve or Ava one was sitting chained to a chair in the corner. Then there was a commotion, and some of Sabin's packmates drug Ava in. I knew that was Ava; somehow, I just knew, so it was Eve in the chair. They chained Ava facing the wall, and Eve started crying. This was not going to be good."Shit Declan! I think we better pause this..." Lasiter trailed off because Sabin entered the room and started baiting and playing with Ava. Her face was already red

Chapter: Chapter 5Declan I pushed play and leaned forward at my desk to study the footage of Ava in my club again. I had been obsessed and probably watched it a million times in the past month and a half because something was off. That's not the same Ava that I saw out and about with Sabin. The Ava I remember didn't have a poker face, and I always knew what she was thinking. That's what I saw in my club, but that's not what I saw when she was out with my brother. I've been thinking back to when she left me, and something wasn't right about that either, but I was too shocked, heartbroken, and angry to pay attention. I noticed the Ava with Sabin has a walk to get from point A to point B, but the Ava I remember from two years ago and the Ava that walked into my club that night walked like a sensual she-wolf. She was graceful, confident, and alluring. I had always loved her walk. Even the way she moved a stray hair from her face was sexy. I

Chapter: Chapter 4Two weeks later"Sabin's taking me to the mating ritual of the alpha's son of the new moon pack. I'm to wear something that you've put your scent on." Eve placed a dress on my bed.I nodded and started undressing to slip it on for a while."I still haven't been able to overhear anything, but something is going on because the druid just left."I paused then started putting the dress on. "Tell Brand I want to see him."Eve gasped, "Absolutely not! I know what your thinking, and that asshole is stupid but not that stupid.""Men are foolish when it comes to certain things." I sighed."You have lost your ever-loving mind! You are not going to seduce that asshole to get information.""I'll do whatever I have to do.""No, I'll try harder. I'll learn something. You are not doing something you'll only hate yourself for.""I don't know the time frame on Sabin's plans, Eve. I can't just wait around. Brand's not s

Chapter: Chapter 3"You are one stupid bitch if you think you can make a move without me knowing about it," Sabin whispered with his nose pressed to my cheek.I was chained to the wall of the basement in my nightgown. I had gone home to my little apartment and cried myself to sleep. Sabin had been letting me live there for the last three months as long as I laid low and wasn't seen by anyone, but I had been spotted by one of his minions when I went to Declan, so I was drug out of bed by my hair and brought here not long after falling asleep. It was a chance I had taken, and I had been caught. I can usually sense when someone is watching me, but I had been so upset and in my head.My sister sat in a chair, whimpering and crying in the corner. That was Sabin's thing; not only would I be beaten or whipped, but my sister would have to watch. This is how he could keep us both under his thumb. At least I didn't have to worry that he would beat Eve. Sabin wouldn't beat his mate as long as

Chapter: Chapter 12Nova I woke up with a throbbing head, but the rest of my body was supremely comfortable. I opened my eyes slowly and focused on a massive muscular chest. I took stock and realized I was all over Brodie. He was sleeping on his back, and I was almost entirely draped over him. My arm stretched over his abdomen, holding him to me and my leg draped over his upper thighs. My head was partly in his armpit and partly on his chest. He had the arm under my head curled around me and his hand on my shoulder. That hand moved then and sifted through my hair. "Good morning sunshine," his voice was raspy with sleep. I groaned and tried to move off of him, but his arm tightened, and he brought the other one around to grab my thigh, halting me. "Stay, this is nice," he rasped low in my ear. My head hurt so bad that I didn't feel like tugging free, so I relaxed back into him. "Morning," I whispered and pushed my forehead int

Chapter: Chapter 11Nova I sat on the bench outside my room with my collection of drinks to stick in the little refrigerator inside my room lying beside me and lit another cigarette. I was a complete mess. I wanted to call and make sure Brodie was looking out for my family, but I didn't want to listen to my family try to talk me into coming back home. This was Brodie, though, so I knew he would make sure they were safe. I was pretty sure no one had followed me, or they would have caught me at a gas station when I stopped for gas, and I had been looking. Nothing suspicious jumped out at me. I was still scared, though. I didn't think I would be getting much, if any, sleep for a while. It was much easier to sleep when Brodie was right outside my bedroom door, taking up the entire couch. That had to have been uncomfortable. Now, thinking back on it, I knew why he did it. He knew about Rob. I sighed and put out my cigarette. I had thought I would give them up, but now isn't the time wi

Chapter: Chapter 10Brodie Wyatt had told me about Nova not taking their conversation well, but when I got out of the shower the following day to find her gone, I was pissed. I hadn't had one of the guys on her because I was in the house with her. I didn't think she'd bolt while I was taking a shower. I went to my phone and found her note. That's when I knew what made her desperate enough to leave. She still should have come to me, and that made me angry. I picked up the phone and called Wyatt to give him a heads up about what was going down, and he mentioned that she had been doing something on Cheryl's laptop and said that she might already have a job somewhere. I went to Nova's room, and the laptop was on her dresser, so I opened it and checked the history, but she had deleted it. It was a good thing I put a tracker on her car. It would take time if I had to wait on Tyson to retrieve the information. I looked around her room but didn't find anything except a box under her bed full of

Chapter: Chapter 9I’ve decided on Oklahoma City and I'm using mom’s laptop to try to find a cheap place to stay. I might already have a job. The black escalade was gone when we left the funeral home and I haven’t seen it since. There hasn’t been any strangeness going on with Brodie and Wyatt, so it must have been my anxiety causing me to be suspicious. They had no idea about Rob or Wyatt would be in my face about it. I still haven’t contacted Rob. I don’t have it in me to deal with him and I want to enjoy my time away from him and not have him ruining it. It has been days now of having my family and soaking in every fabulous moment of it. It felt so good that I never wanted to leave. But, of course, Brodie was always hanging around. He went to work but would constantly be dropping in, and he spent every night on the couch. I still wasn’t comfortable with it simply because it made me so happy. Too safe physically yet not safe at all emotionally. I knew better than to like i

Chapter: Chapter 8I woke up to the smell of bacon cooking, so I brushed my teeth and made my way to the kitchen. Momma was sitting at the island with Ms. Patty, and Brodie was at the stove making french toast and bacon. "Nova! It's so good you're home, dear. Your mom has missed you so." Ms.Patty hugged me and kissed my cheek. "So good to finally have you both home." "Yes, Brodie told me he moved back. That's wonderful." I smiled and kissed her cheek. Then made my way to momma and gave her a squeeze and kiss. "I told him I was perfectly capable of making breakfast in my kitchen, but he ordered me to sit like I'm one of his commandos." Momma shook her head and smiled. "Comando's?" I was puzzled. "Those handsome security men that work with him. If I were young again, I would snatch one up!" "Momma!" I busted out laughing. "You laugh but wait until you get a gander at one," she raised a brow then wiggled it. I h

Chapter: Chapter 7 I had climbed into bed with momma, and we talked in whispers about Grams; then I had made her a plate, and she ate a little bit. She perked up a little seeing me again after two years, and that made me feel guilty that I had not done this sooner. I should have just left like I did today and came to see my family. I put on a set of joggers and a shirt and blow-dried my hair. Spending so much time thinking and fantasizing about Brodie is vastly different than having him here and all up in my space. Also, sleeping under the same roof. Nothing for it but to barrel through it. So left my room to meet Mr. Bossy on the porch. Brodie was on the porch swing again and patted the space beside him when I walked out on the porch. I ignored it and sat in one of the chairs instead. He smiled and shook his head, then twisted the top off a beer and handed it to me. "How have you been?" he asked conversationally. "Great, and you?" Lies, I'd probably be tell
