The Photo Collector

Hamlet Creek University, just by the name itself, already speaks prestigiousness and rarity. It is the most competitive secondary school within the busy borders of the metropolis of Jordan. Sprouted in the heart of the crowd-pleasing city, Hamlet Creek University has everything you could have experience in your life. And by saying everything, that includes mystery. This has been proven by a group of friends who, without them having a pinch of clue, have taken their high school life to a way more complicated adventure that not everyone has given the opportunity to experience. They should be thankful, though. Because high school is meant to be memorable in a way that it would remind you of your low scores and cheating moments with your seatmates, and not of the cold mysteries waiting to be unravelled, and the deaths of random people on random hours. Everyone knows that it all started on the Dean’s murder. But that’s the only thing they know. The Dean has died. After that, they are devastated, clueless, unaware that the Dean’s is just the starting point of a death chain. A lot more has to follow. The entire Hamlet Creek has only seen it as a normal and unfortunate event of dying and bidding goodbyes, but as for Travis and friends, it’s more than just that. Some of them has died, too, and that simply tells that it isn’t coincidence because it’s a hunting game and the culprit is on loose. The group knows nothing on how to stop the killer. They just have one thing that will serve as their guide—pictures. And with this, they will come to seek for the culprit and put period to this labyrinth of death and mystery. They will succeed. But not everyone can make it to the end.

Chapter: Chapter 16: A Walk To Remember
Bahala ka, baka pagsisisihan mo to bukas." Napatingin ako sa aking relo and it's almost 6:30. Napagk

Chapter: Chapter 15: A Love In The Rain

Chapter: Chapter 14: Minus Four
Imposibleng

Chapter: Chapter 13: Special Performance
It's our odd behaviour as a group; we always settle for what makes us all comfortable. It really happened so fast. It was just last night, but the way everyone acted today, it felt like it had been wiped out of the history.

I was a seventh grader that time. At alam k

Chapter: Chapter 11: The Cost of Keeping a Secret

The Rude CEO Nextdoor Is My Boss

The Rude CEO Nextdoor Is My Boss

"I am more than just a CEO nextdoor. I am more than just your boss. I am your lover." Anna Jones' life became miserable when she was kicked out of the restaurant she was working at after having an altercation with a rude customer. Thankfully, her best friend since birth, Emily Smith, is always there to save her ass. She contacted a friend of hers to find Anna a job opportunity. However, just before the job opportunity arrives, Anna has an unfateful encounter with a stone-cold man living next door, who happened to have accidentally knocked her to the ground, left her, and did not even bother to say sorry. After accepting the job opportunity and testing her luck in the interview, will Anna continue to pursue work if she finds out that the man she got bumped with, the man who is rude, and is nonchalant, and is living just next door, is going to be her boss? Anna will venture into a vast array of emotions, test her decision-making, and find out to what extent she is willing to hold a grudge knowing that her soon-to-be boss, her most hated person in the world, will unexpectedly fall in love with her.

Chapter: Chapter Six
Two days after Anna got the news that she is officially hired to be the personal secretary of the CEO of The Scent Republic, she began her preparations for her first day at work. She will start on working on Monday, and the very first thing that Anna has set in her mind is that she needs to be in her modest form– which technically means she’ll have to be presentable inside and out. She is rummaging through her now-empty cabinet when Emily suddenly knocks on the door. She opens it instantly, but the door gets stuck halfway because of the clothing scattered on the ground. “What is this mess all about?” Emily asks, wondering why Anna’s clothes are literally all over her room. Anna grunts. “Argh! I can’t find the new dress you gave me when I first arrived here. I was planning to wear it on my first day of work.” Emily massages her temples after knowing the reason behind the chaotic room of Anna. “God, Anna. You know you don’t have to go through this just for a dress, right? I got lots

Chapter: Chapter Five
Emily gets into the car with the help of the man who’s been patiently waiting for her outside. The car hits the road, and it takes Emily about two hours to finally reach the destination. When the car arrives in the dock of Mulle Loney, Emily is mesmerized by the scene. The night has started, and apart from the stars in the sky, the whole place has also been illuminated by the lights coming from the ships. She hasn’t gone out of the car yet, but she can already see just through the tinted windows all the luxurious restaurants along the shore, and the busy people that don’t look ordinary natives. “I didn’t know there are so many restaurants in this place,” Emily says out of amusement. “They are all five-star restaurants. Some are even so famous that even celebrities and members of political families visit to dine here,” the chauffeur answers just as he gets off the front seat to open the door for Emily. “In which of them is the boss waiting?” she asks again, her veins slowly getting

Chapter: Chapter Four
On Monday afternoon, a couple of days after Anna Jones went for a job interview, Emily returns home with her boyfriend. They bring with them some groceries and essential stuff they will be needing for their out-of-town trip. Anna Jones is slouching on the sofa, doing nothing as usual since the day she was fired from her job. “You know what, Emily…” Anna shoots as soon as she sees Emily walking past the door. “... I think I should find another job. I haven’t heard anything from that company and I’m starting to assume it’s because I was not qualified for the job.” “Can you please calm down?” Emily laughs as she gently puts the grocery on the table. “My friend told me that he’s gonna call regardless of whether you are hired or not. So, chill out, enjoy your remaining days of being unemployed, and eat some grapes because I bought you some.” Anna energetically jumps out of the couch and walks to the kitchen counter. She serves herself a bowlful of grapes and heads back to the couch.

Chapter: Chapter Three
The next morning, the two best friends leave the house early to pursue their individual fates; Emily will be seeing her boyfriend to plan for their scheduled out-of-town trip, while Anna is bound to try her luck on the job vacancy she is told to apply for. “Please, for the love of God, just do your best and try not to make a scene in the interview room,” Emily said as soon as she pulled over the car. They are now stopped outside of what looked like a skyscraper twin building, standing about twenty floors each. Anna jumps out of the car and instantly gets struck by the two gigantic buildings connected by a huge arc with a name, SCENT REPUBLIC. “Are you sure this is the company I am applying for?” She looks up, jaw-dropping on the floor. “Yes, this is it. I can’t be mistaken.” Emily lowers her sunglasses onto her nose and rolls down the window. “As a matter of fact, that’s my friend waiting over there.” She excitedly leaves the car and drags Anna all the way to the man in an all-bla

Chapter: Chapter Two
Anna rushes to the sink in the women's toilet and turns on the faucet. She doesn't use it, but she figures the room is so quiet that perhaps the sound of the rushing water would ease her off. She stares at her reflection on the mirror spreading wide in front of her. She has never been this beautiful; with all the make-up, the eyelashes, and even the chestnut brown contact lenses Emily put on for her. She felt the roughness of her silver-chained choker necklace with a pendant in the center, and thought of how many nights she had spent thinking for a moment like this to come. And now that it's here, she seems so lost and doesn't know how to behave. And then there is a knock on the door. Anna ignores the knock and turns off the faucet, but the door still creaks slightly open. Noah Scott promptly steps in— peaking. “Hey, sorry if I had to intervene. I just want to check on you,” he says, staring straight into her eyes. “What for?” Anna turns off the faucet. “You are clearly doing se

Chapter: Chapter One
Anna Jones’ forehead creases like a crumpled paper as she walks down the pavement– shoulders dropping on the floor– feeling miserable now more than ever. Rage engulfs her head, as she cannot still fathom the fact that she was fired from the restaurant she is working at, after ‘winning’ the petty little altercation that took place between her and a rude customer. “I still don’t get the reason why I was fired from my job when all I did was just defend myself. Am I not allowed to do that?!” the 22-year-old blonde asks herself as she kicks off literally every pebble she sees on her way. As Anna decides there are no second chances left for her to be summoned back by her employer and tell her everything is only a prank, she heads to her best friend’s unit to give her the biggest news of the day. Her best friend ever since the world began, Emily Smith, owns a unit just outside of the unmanaged and the only mansion in the Moonsdrive Village. She has lived with her for quite some time now

Chapter: Chapter 151: The Letter
SAMANTHA Everything went so fast and abrupt since we decided to ditch the police and never show up in either of anyone’s houses. The best part was that, I felt what it was like being a villain. Yes, the way we moved, the way we established plans, and the way we executed them, it surely the same as how villains did their job on movies.By around this time, we were now inside our house. The black truck was parked outside the gate, as all of us entered inside to take a short break. While the rest were slouching on the sofa beds, I and my twin brother Vhynz searched the house to look for the map of the island where our slaughterhouse business was located. Well, the thing was, neither of us two was able to remember where we put that thing. All I could remember was the passcode of the safe where the credit cards and the money was left by our parents. When I checked it the moment we arrived, the map wa

Chapter: Chapter 150: Plans, We Need Plans
CHUCKLooking at Travis when he followed to cop to lead him to where our tents were located was already a pain in the eyes to me. I could sense the fear he was feeling from afar, and I could hear the loud drum rolls of his heart as he walked steps farther away that us. It was already given that if someone was here in this island with us, chances was that, he or should could have planted the evidences that linked to us inside one of those tents. There could be a slim possibility that we would be proven guilty. Every single one of us were drunk and wasted last night; it would have been a perfect opportunity for the killer to get our fingerprints or perhaps, to be more believable, tag the murder weapon in our hands right after killing Janvic with it. But until now, I still did not realize how Janvic was killed. There were bruises and stabbed wounds all over his body, but they were scattered. Was it a brutal way of slaughtering? Or

Chapter: Chapter 149: Torture
A not so long time had passed but still none of Noel Hummingbird’s so called disciples had went out of the cottage to give us at least the tiniest update they could provide regarding on how was the status of the conversation. It has been an hour already since the clash between Philip and the detective had happened, but still, here we were, pinned down to the ground just yet, feeling the intense numbing of our arms, and the pain on our necks as we contest on our nerves about who will stay longer in this position and who will remain surviving until the end of the investigation protocol. While we were trying our best not to collapse and get passed out on our spot where everyone of us friends were gathered, I decided maybe it was best if we had our own little chitchat just to shut down the dead air that had been wrapping and suffocating us. I initiated the conversation, and thank all the heavens above my classmates chimed in and made it as fluent as possible. “Are you still

Chapter: Chapter 148: Suspects
TRAVISWhen we heard the sirens wailed from afar, we already suspected that it was them already; Philip with the rest of our friends, and then the police car. Hearing them made us skip each of our things that we were doing and ran out of the cottage to meet them half way. There were some signs of relief in my heart, but at the same time I could not deny the fact that there were also nerves of nervousness trying to ruin the day. Obviously, none of us three who were left here in the cottage was the killer, and there supposedly have no reason for us to be feeling guilty. But why are we feeling the complete opposite? Why, while running going outside, are we feeling as if we wanted to hide something only to make sure that we could prove ourselves innocent? And lastly, why did I feel like here would go another round of spitting lies again, only to assure that this time, I, or neither of Rabiya and Chuck, would not be accused a killer?

Chapter: Chapter 147: All Are Shitty
RABIYA The amount of boxes for Travis to unpack was so overwhelming, just as overwhelming as the number of drawers I had check to make sure that not a single clue will be left unseen. Ever since we started doing what we were opt to do, we had not yet seen an evidence. Not one. Not even a little, slight, or discreet one. At this point of our semi investigation, I was now starting to think that what if there were really no clues hidden inside the cottage? What if we were just used to know that this was the usual routine every time there was a crime happening that it brought us to conclude that the same protocol should be implemented? I rested my face from frowning because of the unpleasant smell coming from the utensils that were long kept inside the drawers-- only God knew how long had they been there inside their cases. I moved three steps away from the kitchen cabinet, and then clapped the dusts off my hands. I then washed the

Chapter: Chapter 146: Breakfast Us Three
CHUCK After five minutes at most, Rabiya got out of the kitchen room with a serving platter and three cups of coffee. Just by the aroma of it, and just by seeing how the steam evaporated in the air sending thin clouds of visible smoke towards us, as if a hand trying to seduce us to drink it right away, I could already determine that the freshly brewed coffee were so satisfying. I jumped out of the sofa where I decided to sit for three minutes, and fetched Rabiya from the isle to get the cup she prepared for me. I determined it right away which cup was mine, because I was the only one who ordered my coffee to be black and pure. No sure, no creamer, no anything at all. “You better be sure this taste great,” I threatened Rabiya in a jokingly manner. She just gave me a good smirk, as if she was utterly confident that her brewed coffee would meet the standards of my peculiar taste buds. I then picked up another cup, the
