I released the unpleasant tie around my neck as I sauntered into the mansion. One by one, I popped the buttons on my coat and slipped them off my shoulders, and hung them over my shoulder as I headed straight for the kitchen but met my stepmom and little nuts chopping some vegetables on the counter.
My stepmom smiled as soon as her eyes landed on me and I nearly flinched at how ample her smile was, it was approximately eerie and boycotted a nerve in my system. She needed to stop smiling like that "I wasn't expecting you so early today"
I walked over to the fridge and helped myself with a glass of water before answering... "I finished work early"
"Oh, you will have to wait a few more minutes then, dinner is not ready" she announced and I nodded.
