Synopsis: Kinn Theerapanyakun is a prominent member and heir of the Theerapanyakun crime family who gets attacked by rival gang members. During one of the attacks, he meets Porsche Kittisawasd, who works as a waiter but is also an avid fighter. Cognizant about Porsche's combat skills, Kinn offers him money in exchange for protection. Porsche, initially hesitant, is forced to go along. Over time, both start developing feelings for each other, but their love story is fraught with a plethora of difficulties down the road.
Daemi is a writing duo - composed of Poi Patchayamon Theewasujaroen and Yok Sitthichai Panya - responsible for drafting and releasing the original Thai version of "KinnPorshe.". Not much information about them or the translator ("coffeesiuss") has been disclosed, although Daemi does have a social media presence. To date, they have not penned any other original work.
1. KinnPorsche's Main Theme: Love Against All Odds
"KinnPorsche" touches upon some grim and somber topics. There's nothing "roses and sunshine" about it, not even as we delve into the love story that ensues after.
For one, the novel presents two people pushed to make tough and sometimes even questionable decisions. While not wholly justifiable in some scenarios, It's not hard to encounter situations like these in our everyday lives, so readers may relate to some of these developments, even when the specific circumstances presented in the novel appear out of the ordinary.
In this instance, Porsche is initially pressured by his family's dire economy and outside threats to his own life to immerse himself in mafia affairs. Meanwhile, Kinn, having a criminal background, doesn't skimp on showing some muscle to force Porsche to protect him.
Afterwards, we get into arguably the novel's central themes: "Love against all odds" and "love flourishes in the least expected places." Both themes (but especially the first one) will permeate the rest of the story up to its conclusion.
Without question, the main characters in this tale are hinted at in the very title: Kinn Theerapanyakun and Porsche Kittisawasd. Let's describe them in a bit more detail, as well as other secondary characters of particular relevance to the plot.
Kinn Theerapanyakun
Kinn is the second son of Korn Theerapanyakun. He's cold and reckless, as well as handsome. He's generally active in mafia dealings and doesn't hesitate to threaten people at gunpoint to get what he wants.
Porsche Kittisawat
Porsche is the other protagonist in the novel. He's a young martial arts champion and part-time waiter at an entertainment venue trying to make ends meet. He has a brother called Porchay (Porche or "Che"), the only person he claims to care about and who he strives to protect.
Vegas Kornwit Theerapanyakul
Vegas is Kinn's cousin and a crucial character in one of the novel's major subplots. He's exceptionally sadistic, to the point of raping one of the "Main Family's" bodyguards (Pete), with whom he later develops a love relationship.
Pete Phongsakorn
Pete is Porsche's roommate, as well as one of Kinn's chief bodyguards and a prominent character in the "Vegas Pete" subplot.
3. Point of View: Mostly Porsche's
The story is told from Porsche's point of view, which shows in the way the narration is conveyed. This provides the novel with a decidedly "Scorcese" flavor.
4. The Plot: Kinn and Porsche, from Hate to Love
The plot in "KinnPorsche" places the reader inside Porsche's mind as he begins describing his nightly routine as a waiter. We can already see Porsche's attitude when it comes to getting into problems that are not his own.
However, he soon finds himself meddling between a young boy and some mobsters. The young boy happens to be Kinn, a mafia lord who proposes to pay him a sum of money so that he can take care of the henchmen. The amount offered was enough for Porsche to pay his brother's tuition.
Both meet a second time as Kinn's enemies are wrecking the shop Porsche works in. After some tense exchanges, Kinn asks Porsche to be his bodyguard for a generous salary. Worried about his brother's safety, he accepts it. Another factor that contributed to his acceptance was the fact that his uncle Athie mortgaged his parents' house to secure a debt he couldn't repay (Kinn himself being the lender).
From there on, a love story would unfold amid a turbulent gang war involving, among other people, Kinn's uncle and his son Vegas, who also falls in love with another bodyguard (not before raping him).
5. Hottest Chapters in KinnPorsche
The spiciest chapters in KinnPorsche are ultimately the sex scenes, with chapter 16 probably generating the bulk of the attention (being the first sexual encounter between the protagonists). Admittedly, this could be disputed.
6. Porsche's Narration Style
Porsche relates every scene using the same overall rude language that he employs for his dialogue lines. For the most part, it's not hard to understand, though sometimes it can be challenging to ascertain what's happening (possibly due to localization issues).
Final Thoughts on KinnPorsche, Is It Worth It?
We can say without hesitation that the novel is an authentic page-turner, and you'll always want to know what happens in the next chapter.
That said, we must warn readers that the story does present some truly dark themes that may not be suitable for sensitive audiences (as well as an uncanny romanticization of rape). If you can stomach these types of content, this work might be for you!
Also, while portrayed as an action novel, the romantic aspects frequently overshadow all the crime drama, so readers should manage their expectations when approaching this story.

So far, there's no official complete English translation of the Thai original, albeit there's an ongoing translation project led by the actor who portrayed Bible in the TV series (which Daemi explicitly authorizes). The coffeesiuss translation is entirely a fan project.
The novel is a BL ("boys love") series, so it's definitely catered towards LGBT and LGBT-friendly audiences.
