Lila's POV “I’m so sorry to hear that, Brian,” I said. My smile faltered already, and I couldn’t help but wonder how he managed to keep smiling despite having experienced such a tragic ordeal. If it were the former me, I’d have kept looking at him with probably teary eyes, telling him he has his friends and all that bullshit people use to console others.
