LOGINMarianne Fairmount's world shattered when she discovered her fiance in bed with her half-sister. The cruel revelation that she had always been alone hit her hard. Her father turned his back on her, blessing the marriage between her ex-fiance and her younger sister, even celebrating the announcement of their expected baby. In a moment of reckless abandon, she spent the night with a handsome stranger, surrendering her virginity. She decided to propose a marriage contract that would not only put her heart at risk but possibly her very life.

The fluorescent lights buzzed overhead, casting a harsh glow on the sterile white walls of the room. My body ached with every breath, and a dull pain throbbed on the side of my head. I tried to move, but a wave of dizziness washed over me, forcing me to lie back down.
"Camilla," a deep voice broke through the fog of my mind. I turned my head slowly, wincing as the movement sent another jolt of pain through my body. Seth, the new Beta of the Green Hill Pack, was sitting beside my bed, his eyes filled with concern.
"Beta?" My voice came out as a hoarse whisper, and I struggled to make sense of my surroundings. The last thing I remembered was cleaning the Alphaâs and Luna's house and getting attacked by a man in a hooded mask. I had been wounded, and then everything went black.
"You're safe now," Seth said, reaching out to gently take my hand. But then, he quickly dropped it like he was burnt, and my breath hitched. His touch was warm, and I felt a strange sense of comfort wash over me. "You've been here for a few hours."
I still couldnât wrap my head around what was happening. I shook my head, licked my dry lips, and clenched my fingers around my dress. I couldnât help but sneak a peek at him again, and my lips parted in a gasp as I finally realized what was happening.
âYouâreââ Seth abruptly got up, cleared his throat, and turned his tense back to me. âYou should rest,â he said, cutting off my words, and my heart sank.
He was going to reject me. My mate was going to reject me.
My hands shook, and I took in a deep breath and nodded. âLuna⊠Is she okay?â I questioned, and he looked at me over his shoulder and closed his eyes for a brief second.
His voice grew hard. âNo. That is all I can tell you for now since this is a confidential matter.â And with those words said, he was gone.
âââ
When I woke again, the room was dim, and the pain had lessened to a dull ache. I was surprised to see Seth seated in the same spot I had seen him when I woke up the first time.
âBeta?â I called, and his eyes snapped to mine. His brown eyes raked over my figure before moving back to my face.
âHow are you feeling?â he asked, and I nodded.
âIâm fine now⊠Are we going to ignore it?â I finally asked, and his body tensed up.
âWe are mates,â he said, and a small smile spread on my lips.
âAnd youâre going to reject me,â I answered, and his brows furrowed together. He ran his palm over his face and sighed.
âNo. I donât plan on rejecting you, Camilla.â
My body tingled when he said my name, but I pushed it down to focus on what was happening. âYou donât want me,â I stated, and he groaned and took my hand in his.
We both gasped at the contact, but instead of pulling away this time, he tightened his hold on my arm and swiped his tongue across his lips. âI want you, Camilla. ItâsâItâs just very complicated. Iââ He sighed and ran his hand over his face. âIâm not rejecting you, but I just canât do this now.â
Seth quickly scrambled out of the chair, and I jumped off the bed, my heart beating rapidly against my chest as I followed behind him.
âMaâam! You canât leave now!â a nurse said, her hand reaching for mine. I hissed at her and brushed her arm off. When I finally looked forward, I could no longer find my mate. He was gone.

When I got to the pack house, it seemed no one bothered to check on me. I scoffed at my own thought and dragged my heavy legs to the Omegas' hall. I was the invisible girl, the orphan that no one cared about or even bothered to.
I thought back to when I was eight, found abandoned at the pack's territory. My memory before that time was a blur, a void I could never fill. All I knew was that Maâam Katherine, the kind woman who raised me in the pack house, took me in. She cared for me until I was sixteen. When she died, I tried my best to hide in the shadows, hoping to go unnoticed, to be the invisible girl.
âHey! Camillaaa.â My body tensed at that voice. Scratch what I just saidâI was no longer invisible. No, now I was Zoeâs friends' personal punching bag. Everything changed when I reported that a girl was being abused in the pack and had gone missing. The investigation traced the abuse to Zoe and her friend. Zoe tried escaping punishment but was killed by rogues. Ever since her death, the pack's hatred turned to me, as they believed it was my fault she was dead.
I slowly turned around to meet Mia, Jane, and Laura. Mia draped her arms around my shoulder, and they all began to lead me towards our rooms. I swallowed harshly as the door clicked shut and I was pushed forward.
âWe didnât see you this morning, and we were beginning to wonder what if you were eaten by the wild wolves,â Mia said, circling me and humming to herself.
âOr finally killed yourself,â Laura injected, and they all laughed. My head was tilted downwards and my fingers pressing into the skin of my palm.
âI was at the hospital,â I said, hoping they would leave me alone, but of course, all the things I wanted in this world never came true.
âNo one cares, Camilla,â Mia said, stopping in front of me and tilting her head down to look into my eyes. She smirked when I turned my eyes to the other side.
âSuch a good little puppy,â she mocked in a tiny voice, and Jane ruffled my hair harshly, and I winced at the pain that shot through my skull.
Now, I was beginning to regret not staying at the hospital.
âWhat? Does it hurt, Camilla?â Jane asked with fake concern in her voice and pressed even harder on the sore spot on my head. I pressed my fingers deeper into my skin to stop myself from showing any pain, or it would just get worse.
âWhat do you think we should do to her today, girls?â Mia asked, and a grin spread on their faces.
Laura twisted my hair between her fingers and then looked at each of her friends. âHow about we shave off her hair today?â
My eyes snapped up, and without thinking, I dashed for the locked door, and my hands fumbled with the lock. A handful of my hair was yanked, and I turned to face them. Pain shot through my cheek as somebody smacked me, and without thinkingâagain, I balled my fingers into fists and punched.
I didnât bother to look at who it was and finally pulled the door open. âYou will pay for that! I swear it, Camilla! You will fucking pay.â A deep shudder ran through my body at the voice. It was Miaâs, and I knew she would follow through with her words.
Sara Brown's P.O.V."Didn't we agree you wouldn't come, Mom?" Richard asked, his voice low and disappointed."Richard, you too?" Victoria exclaimed, her voice trembling with a mix of hurt and indignation."What else did you expect, Victoria?" Julian interjected, crossing his arms. "We practically had to beg Sara for permission just to see Matthew. Meanwhile, you've done nothing to make amends yet here you are, demanding things. That's not how this works.""Do you want me to apologize to Sara?" Victoria's voice cracked as she looked at me, her emotions on full display.I would never trust Victoria, and I certainly would never leave my son alone with her unsupervised. But in this moment, her vulnerability chipped away at some of my hardened resolve. Life had been so good lately, so full of joy and love, that my heart no longer had room for resentment."You don't need to apologize to me," I said calmly. "The people you owe an apology to are your sons."Victoria's eyes widened, her
Sara Brown's P.O.V.Six months later.Becoming a mother was one of those adventures I never knew I needed, but I'd never been more grateful for taking the leapâespecially with Lawrence by my side. Now, here we were, standing in front of a flower-draped altar nestled in the woods of the Brown family estate.Getting married in this spot felt symbolic. It had been our sanctuary as kids, the place where we'd escaped from the grown-ups and shared secrets. It was fitting that my best friend, the boy who'd been by my side through thick and thin, was now becoming my husband.Behind us was a small gathering of family and close friends. The Brownsâever-expanding with a small army of kidsâwere all present, as were a handful of Lawrence's relatives, including his brothers, Richard and Julian. We'd kept the guest list to just sixty people, making this a more intimate celebration than anyone would've expected from a Brown-Lewis wedding.Still, it was perfect. Everyone we loved was here. And the
I looked at our baby's tiny face, and the urge to cry overwhelmed me again. He was absolutely perfect."Are you going to keep crying?" Sara teased with a mischievous grin. "If you don't stop, I won't give you another one."I wiped my tears immediately, not wanting to take any chances. She burst out laughing, her radiant energy filling the room."So," quickly shifting topics, she leaned forward slightly, "what are we naming him? We agreed we'd know when we saw him. I've got a name from the shortlist in mind. Do you?""I do," I replied, smiling."Okay, let's say it together," she suggested, and I nodded. "On three. One, two, threeâ""Matthew!" we both exclaimed in unison. We stared at each other before breaking into matching grins. Sara started clapping in excitement over our perfect sync. I laughed at her enthusiasm, but something on the hospital TV caught my attentionâa news report about yesterday's gubernatorial election. Images of Isabelle, the winner, flashed across the scree
Lawrence Lewis's P.O.V.Three months later...Just when I thought I couldn't be any happier with Sara loving me, life proved me wrong. Every day felt like a new peak of joy. A few months ago, I believed I had reached the ultimate high when she accepted my proposal during our trip to Finland. I'd asked her under the northern lights in a private and intimate moment, just the two of usâjust like our entire relationship had been. The fallout from canceling my engagement to Emma had been relatively manageable for me. There were no financial or legal repercussions, and I narrowly escaped the disgrace of almost becoming the son-in-law of a criminal like Mark. But to say I avoided all drama would be a lie. The rumors and gossip surrounding how Sara and I had gotten together were relentless.I was usually a calm man, but any criticism aimed at Sara, accusing her of "breaking up" my previous engagement, turned me into a beast. Sara would always tell me to ignore the noise, that only we knew
The officer's words hung in the air, echoing like a death sentence."Yes, yes, we'll confirm everything at the station," he repeated, motioning for Jason to be taken away.I stepped in their path, refusing to move. They asked me to step aside several times, but I stood firm. Just when I thought they m
One moment, I had Sara in my arms; in the next, I was pulling Mark and Jason apart from the chaotic brawl they had started in front of all these people. The uproar had been massive, and the fallout was just as significant. I wasn't the only one stepping inâother guests had joined in to separate them
"With you... I'd want everything."I smiled like a love-struck fool, nibbling on my fruit as my heart melted. If there were ever going to be kids in our future, I had to be at my healthiest. Jason started talking about his morning routine, and I listened with the phone tucked against my shoulder as I
"Look at what you've done. You've been very naughty," I teased, grinning down at him."This has to be a dream..." Lawrence muttered, almost to himself."Oh, my God. Were you dreaming about knocking me up? You dirty pervert," I laughed, my tone light. This time, Lawrence didn't stay passive. With a firm
