Katherine’s POVTrisha did as told, mounted me on the back, and wrapped her arms tightly around my neck as I pounced away. I could hear her heart pounding really fast, the snapping of twigs beneath my paws, and the rustling of leaves as the Night Shadow chased after us. More Shadows appeared from nowhere, going around and trying to cut me off track; a solid predatory move. I darted between trees as I sensed the Night Shadows gaining on me, their grasps were mere inches away from my tail. A narrow clearing appeared before me, and I made a break for it. I shot through the gap and emerged into an open space, and out of the forest. The Night Shadows shrieked upon entering the open space too, they weren’t welcomed by the moonlight as we were. I took advantage of the chaos and vanished into safety, while the Night Shadows faded into nothingness.
