CHAPTER 50 – GW & GC

ARIA “Do you know the Greek alphabet?” He tensed. “I don’t think so…” He murmured scratching his head. “Well, you use it every day. It starts with the letter ‘Αα’ I wrote it in my notebook, and goes like this… ‘Ββ, Γγ, Δδ, Εε, Ζζ, Ηη, Θθ, … Ωω’. I stopped writing when I finished all 24 letters. You’re using their alphabet for your ranks. Now, the Alpha, it’s you. Next is the Beta (Ββ). It is pronounced Veta with a v, not a b. Like saying, vet. Then Gamma (Γγ) is pronounced yamma with y, not g, like when you say yellow. Then delta is like th in the word then, not a d. Epsilon is easy. Zeta, Eta, Theta like the th in thorn. I’ll skip the rest ‘cause I don’t need them, and I’ll go to the end. The letter (Ωω) Omega, again pronounced with a y-like yellow, and why not g, I mean omeya.” I took a breath, and I continued. “And I’m back at your ranks. You have an Alpha, a Beta, a Gamma, then the chaos, and last but not least, the Omegas. Am I right?” “The chaos?” He chuckled. “Yes, David!

CHAPTER 51 – The Meeting

ARIA The next day, David gathered every ranked wolf for the meeting in his office. His Beta and Gamma, Luna Patricia, and another guy named Nelson – David told me he was a computer expert and would be the new GC. We had taken Ian to kindergarten for an adjustment period. He would start fully attending in a few months, and the teacher suggested his presence for a couple of hours a day, during playtime. It would be useful for him. He would bond with the other kids and learn the whole procedure of going to school. Richard was fine with that and had told me that Christianna was already thinking about it before she passed away – something that I didn’t know. Anyway, when everything was ready for the meeting, I started explaining my plans about the rogues and then the hierarchy system. I also had a whiteboard for my notes. Everyone was watching me, concentrating on my lecture. David was looking at me with so much pride and supporting me with his words or silent nods now and then. After a

CHAPTER 52 – The House with the Red Light

ARIA The next day, David drove me to ‘The Girls’ as they used to call them. The building resembled a strip club on the outside. It had a purple neon light with a woman dancing on a pole beside its door. We parked at the parking lot. When we reached the door, we pressed the doorbell. A woman around forty with heavy makeup, smeared from sleep, opened the door, annoyed. “We are closed now, come in the evening…” She started while opening the door, but stopped the moment she spotted David next to me. She was clearly not informed that we would come, and it was better this way. I needed to discuss some matters with them, and I preferred to have their spontaneous and straightforward answers. “Alpha…” She uttered, falling to her knees. “I am truly sorry! I wasn’t expecting you. Finally, having you here is an honor.” I squatted in front of her, held her arms, and tugged her to stand up. “You must be the Luna… Wow, you’re beautiful!” She exclaimed, amazed. “Can we enter? I’d like to talk

CHAPTER 53 – Illuminated

DAVID She has accomplished so much in these last few days. I was dealing with the ranks and setting the new order and rules, while she was dealing with each and every pack member who wanted a new beginning. Everything seemed to work fine. The pack members embraced this total change with gratitude, especially the Omegas. I can’t forget the first time some of them came to training. They had mixed feelings, which were clear in their faces. On the one hand, fear, but on the other hand, excitement that they could do what other ordinary werewolves did. Train. To tell the truth, I’ve never needed to change anything in the way I ran the pack. We werewolves were strictly stuck to tradition. However, this whole movement Aria evoked, or as she jokingly called it sometimes - abolitionism- has brought a new breath to the pack – a new era. I knew deep inside from the very beginning that our werewolf-human bond wasn’t something random. We were together for a reason. We needed fresh blood, new bra

CHAPTER 54 – Pillow Fight

DAVID ~More than two years later~ It’s been almost three years since we accepted each other. The most wonderful years of my life. Having Aria by my side was like a dream coming true. We were living in our own heaven on earth. The amount of love and affection she showed me every day was something I couldn’t even imagine before I met her. Yes, I knew the mate bond wasn’t complete. Yes, I knew that I had founded our relationship on lies and deception, but the result was that she was mine. Mine to love, mine to protect, mine to cherish, mine to worship. All this happiness made my heart clench every time I cast my eyes on her. She was so perfect in every aspect that I have found myself wondering how I could deserve her. Indeed, the Goddess has blessed me with the most unique gift that ever existed. Her! As my mate! I opened my eyes to see my beautiful woman with half of her naked body on me. Her head was on my shoulders, one of her hands was on my chest, and her leg hugging my tights

CHAPTER 55 – The Beginning of Revelations

ARIA David left two days ago. His presence was necessary for the Alpha trainees. Being one of the strongest Alphas, he was always involved in training, evaluation, and everything regarding Alpha University. He was also asked to be the head of the University once, but he declined. I missed him so much. Even if we texted and called each other whenever he got the chance, it wasn’t enough. In those three years, we were inseparable. Doing everything and going everywhere together. David didn’t miss the opportunity to flaunt me at every gathering or ceremony. Even at our mating ceremony last year, he had invited all his Alpha allies. But I sensed every time that I wasn’t accepted, and I knew the reason. The only person who talked to me and was friendly with me was Luna Marion, Alpha Augustin’s mate from the neighboring pack. She was sweet and easygoing, and we became good friends. When visiting another pack with David, I always asked if she would be present. This time she wouldn’t go eith

CHAPTER 56 – More Revelations

ARIA “Hello, Mrs. Fortner.” The OB-GYN greeted me. “Hello. Nice to meet you.” We shook hands. “Likewise, now, before the examination, let me see your medical case history.” I nodded and waited for him to read the interview sheet that the secretary had given me to fill in. “Well, I see that you haven’t had a pap smear test in three years. Is it the reason you’re here?” He asked. What should I tell him now? That I’m here to learn if I gave birth or not… “It’s one of the reasons. Yeah…” I trailed and then decided to let him know the truth, because if I indeed had a C-section, how could I possibly explain to him that I didn’t remember being a mother? “Listen… I had an accident three years ago that cost me my memory. I recently discovered an incision in my belly that resembles a C-section. Because I didn’t have any relatives then, there was no one to inform me if I had any children… Do you understand? I asked him. He was looking at me, quite shocked. “Yes, of course.” “Can you und

CHAPTER 57 – The Photograph

JONATHAN “Jonathan?” She exclaimed, startled. “Good afternoon, Mrs. Fortner.” I greeted. “Why are you here?” She asked me, intrigued. What should I explain to you now? ~~~ I’m Jonathan Knight. Age? Let’s just say I’m still young. I’m a business partner to Mr. David Nathaniel Fortner. It’s been more than ten years since I started working under his wing. I kinda inherited my father’s position after he decided to retire. I’m, in fact, running all of Mr. Fortner’s companies. Making deals, grabbing opportunities, dealing with the staff, and many, many other things just to make this entire business prosper. David, in the end, just has to determine and make the final decisions. Not that he was slacking. He was working his fingers to the bone, but all the companies combined were too much for a single person to handle. Throw in the equation, his pack, and all the other stuff he had to deal with. I don’t know how he could manage all this. What’s more, David is an exceptional boss. Pays we

CHAPTER 58 – Marion

ARIA When the helicopter landed and shut off its engines, Nathan ran towards it. The door opened, and a man disembarked and started speaking with him. I looked closely. He seemed familiar. After a while, it dawned on me that this guy was Alpha Augustin’s Gamma. David’s call, yesterday rushed into my mind. So, something big was happening. I tried to see through the helicopter’s glass to spot Marion, but they were tinted. I saw Nathan start running towards the packhouse, and I returned to my room to get dressed. It seems that I had to make another trip; not the one to Greece Ι planned to. Nathan came after a while, urging me to get ready as fast as possible, and an hour later, we were on David’s private plane heading to Italy. Marion was sobbing throughout the flight. I tried to console her or make her speak and tell me what the matter was, but she was eyeing the Gammas and the warriors, and I understood that she didn’t want to talk in front of them. We reached Italy and went to a

CHAPTER 59 – Gifted

ARIA “I will help you.” She mumbled. Her blank gaze was straight into my face, and then she fell back on the bed. I was shocked. I could shit myself from the fear I just felt. What was that? Should I wake her up? Perhaps call a doctor to check on her? Ask her Gamma? He was here with us. He should know. But before I could react, and while contemplating what to do, she started stirring. She opened her eyes and took in my panicked face. “Oh, my Goddess! Augustin… Something happened, isn’t it?” She asked, concerned. I shook my head, biting my bottom lip. “No. No one contacted us. But you… Are you alright?” “Yeah, I’m totally fine.” She blurted. I stared into her eyes, which were normal again. My panicked expression hasn’t vanished yet. “I startled you, didn’t I?” She whispered. “You scared the living daylights out of me!” I confessed. “I’m sorry. I can’t control it.” She murmured. “Marion, what was that? Should I call a doctor? Are you ok?” “No, no. Not a doctor, please. I’m
