Chapter 69: Facing Ghosts

— Leia Steele — “You are no longer my father, you said so yourself that day you left me to die. You don’t have the right to be here and try to act like you care, and if I were you, it would be best for you to just get the hell out of here. You may have had no heart when you left me, but I at least am a better person than you so for your own good, you should leave while you still can.” I said that. I really, really said that to the man who abandoned me in a time I needed him the most, to the man who saw me as nothing but a monster, to the man I thought would love me unconditionally compared to anybody else. All this time I thought that he was gone, but I guess deep down, a part of me did also think about what it would be like if he wasn’t, and if one of these days he showed up in front of me again. I couldn’t believe that it did happen this time. I always imagined how I would react; if I would cry seeing him still alive and maybe even feel some sort of relief. That and run

Chapter 70: Little Lies

— Viktor Morgenstar — I am not a patient man. Everybody knows this. So when I tell them I want things done in a specific time, I expect them to do it exactly as I say. Now imagine my absolute displease when I come down and not see the people I expected to see, specifically both my Beta and Gamma with a certain specific prisoner in tow. I grabbed a random passerby who seemed to have just been coming back from his run. He stares at me terrified as I hold him by his shirt. “Where the hell is everyone?” I demanded. “E— everyone?” He looked at me like I was talking in a different language. “For fuck’s sake, yes, everyone. Why do you think you are here? You’re not on fucking vacation, you imbecile.” His eyes widened at the realization of what I was asking for. ”Ah! Sorry, Dark Alpha! I— I was lost for a moment, but yes, I remember now. They should be here any minute. There was just a bit of misunderstanding or miscommunication with the transportation to here.” He explai

Chapter 71: Cruel Reunion

— Leia Steele — It was dark. So eerily dark, just like that time I was captured and found out I was at Edith and Christopher’s. I felt a strange feeling come over me and I sucked in a deep breath. Now was not the time to be scared. I have to be tough now more than ever. “We’re right there with you, okay? And even if anything happens, which there won’t be, I know who you are, Leia, and you’re tougher than you think you are. Just look at how far you’ve come. Don’t let him belittle you. Don’t let him get to your head.” Zane’s words come into my mind and this helps me feel even more confident. I don’t know where the hell I am or what is about to happen, but I do know that one way or another, this all ends today. I was standing by the doorway, my hand pressing against the rough wood so that I could remain steady and not end up stepping where I shouldn’t, when all of a sudden, I felt it. I felt that feeling I haven’t in months since… Since I left him. My entire body

Chapter 72: Monster Within

— Leia Steele — Viktor turned his focus on me, a chilling smile curved on his lips as he looked straight into my eyes. Suddenly, there is a loud crash, and growls erupted from all angles. I hear whimpers and cries and that’s when it hit me. They were fighting outside! Zane, the others, and likely members of the Shadow Claws. The louder the sounds got, the more agitated and desperate I became not knowing what was going on, who was getting hurt, and what else. “Surprised, aren’t you?” Viktor spoke as he tilted his head at me amused. I wanted to get out of my seat and slice his throat with my razor blade, but I knew he was faster than me so I had to think hard before doing anything. I didn’t respond. I chose not to, pushing away the negative thoughts, and telling myself that they planned for this and they knew what they were doing. They were ready to fight and they will succeed. Viktor is going to see that and Zane will come get me soon. ”Nobody’s coming for you,

Chapter 73: Unparalleled Catastrophe

— Leia Steele — Wh— what was that? It was so sudden that I was speechless and unmoving for a second. Viktor was clearly not expecting anyone to come in as he himself froze, too. When I finally managed to turn my head, there he was, standing atop the door that was once there but had now been broken down. He was all bloody. Not a single inch on his body was not covered with red and even… bits of… flesh. He looked brutal, like he had just come from Hell and back. I can’t imagine how hard he had to fight to get here, but I have no words to describe how fucking glad I am to see him. The exhilaration and relief takes over me, yet I know this is not over. As terrifying as it sounds, I think it's only just the beginning. “Zane,” I breathed out. I didn’t even notice he was holding a severed head until it came flying towards us and landed right in front of Viktor’s feet. When I looked down, bloodshot eyes of a face that was somewhat familiar stared back at me.

Chapter 74: All Alone

— Leia Steele — Every inch of my body hurts. I’m not even sure where the pain starts and where it ends, but I just know it’s there. I think it’s from the way Viktor held onto me so tightly and sprung me out to Goddess knows where as if my body was being whiplashed over and over again. Blood is still dripping from my arms and hands as I feel my body get laid down onto what felt like a leather seat. I can’t move. I can’t even raise my head or turn it to the side to see where I am. Opening my eyes also hurts like I am being pricked by needles every time I try, so I keep them closed instead. It all hurts, but really, nothing hurts more than the feeling of my heart being hammered, gutted, and then torn into pieces as I think back on what had just happened. An explosion. A big one. Something I have never before seen in my life and frankly, I thought I never would. I heard whimpering noises and a few seconds later realized that it was coming from me. I felt my cheeks become

Chapter 75: Lifeless Existence

— Leia Steele — In the past few months I had been back with the Shadow Claws, my life had turned into something so monotonous and soul-crushing. Every single day it was wake up, get dressed, paraded around the Pack for everybody to see me, their future Luna, and pampered up to no end by endless women servicing me for whatever I needed or wanted. The only upside was that Viktor did not engage in anything sexual nor physical with me as to not harm the birth of the baby. It was refreshing, at least, knowing that he wouldn’t come into my room in the middle of the night and do something to me that I know now I wouldn’t be able to stomach. The only thing is that he still does come into my room every single night and talk to me about himself, the Pack, the baby and how excited he is for when things are finally set like he has always planned. Luckily for me, I have become somewhat of an expert in pretending I was already asleep, forcing my body to stay still and my breathing slow a

Chapter 76: Judgment Day

— Leia Steele — “Everything has to be perfect!” A woman prancing around with various embellished gowns proclaims the same thing for the fiftieth time. “Does this gown look like it’s the color crimson red to you?! Ahhh!” She screeched and my expression turned into a full grimace. When she turned back to face me in the mirror, I quickly changed my look, hoping she didn’t see it. “Goddess gracious, have you not been taking care of yourself, woman? You are the Luna of this Pack! The Luna! Or have you forgotten that? Look at this face! It hasn’t seen any sort of exfoliation in months! This hair! The split ends are all over!” Complain, complain, complain. Other than taking my measurements and staring at me from all angles, complaining is all she’s done since I arrived here thirty minutes ago. That and degrading me with every word that comes out of her mouth. Did she not know what she was getting into before she came over here? Did Viktor not tell her the circumstances of our

Chapter 77: Monsters Bleed

— Zane Frost — Chaos. Madness. Death. It was left and right. It was almost impossible to escape, but I kept pushing. I told myself that I had to. I knew I had to for her, for Leia, for Keira, for everybody in my Pack and Alpha Titus’. This was all our fight and we had to end this today. No matter what. As soon as anyone tried to come after me, I fought to kill. I don’t think about anything else, but to get the upper hand. The very first time you hesitate, there’s no coming back from that. I see the bloodthirst in their eyes and in the way they growl. These wolves are different. Whilst the White Howlers and Blazing Wolves were trained to mostly defend themselves from the enemies, these ones were trained to do no defending, only killing, like they were all raised to be killing machines. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before, but I had to keep up with them if I had to get to Leia. When I saw her get dragged into that house out of nowhere, it was like a switch

Chapter 78: Awakened Vengeance

— Zane Frost — I feel like absolute shit. Maybe that in itself is even an understatement because from my head to my toes, it’s like I’m being pushed onto the ground by twenty six-wheelers trucks. That is excluding the fact that my head feels like I’ve been pushed out of a plane and I’m currently twirling around and around fifty thousand feet up in the air. Holy shit. What the fuck is going on? “Zane? Zane! You’re awake?! Guys, he’s awake!” I heard a familiar voice shout out and I flinched in pain almost immediately. There was a loud echo in my ears and I thought my head was going to burst. “Shit, sorry,” the voice mumbled an apology. “Wr du hl m ei…” I tried to speak, but I doubt the letters that came out of my mouth could even form a single understandable word. My suspicions were proven correct when the person next to me burst out into a fit of laughter. If I had the energy to smack them, I would have done it, but alas, aside from being able to move my lips
