Darsh's POV: In High School "Tell me, who do you love the most after your parents?" she asked, pouting. I ignored her, pretending to immerse myself in the book. "Pleaaashhh," she pleaded, dragging the word out. I sighed, thinking deeply before responding, "Hmmm, my... dog." I nodded confidently as Ava glared at me. "Okay, after her?" she pressed again. "Oh, I almost forgot my goldfish. I used to love it so much. But the poor fellow died when I was seven," I said, putting a hand over my heart and feigning hurt. She took a long breath, exasperated, as I continued my list, including a tree I once had. "You know what? Forget it," she snapped, folding her arms and starting to walk away. I caught her hand, pulling her toward me. "It's you, Ava." She turned to meet my eyes. "It's you I love the most," I said, leaving out the part that I loved her more than my parents. In front of her unwavering love, nothing else seemed to matter. She was my oxygen, and without her love, I suffocate
