Ava looked around at the scene of her cousin's birthday party, apparently flustered but still holding her seat. The private hall was filled with balloons, confetti and dancing people. She wrinkled her nose in disgust as their sweaty smells reached her. The drunk people swayed dangerously close and she shifted uncomfortably. When Ava woke again it was early morning. Soft sunlight slipped through the curtains above the bed and she winced, raising her hand to her cheek and touching the warmth the sunlight had left there. The drowsy effects of the alcohol had worn off and she sat up, groaning loudly as a splitting headache ran through her head. She was so not a fan of morning hangovers!Her groan roused the body beside her and she flinched slightly, almost scared, realizing that someone was on the bed with her.
