Travis only stood there and watched Serena run away from him in the pouring rain. He was frozen, not able to move a muscle, but in his mind, he wanted to go after her and do what she asked of him. But, for some reason, he just couldn't make his legs move a step forward and run after his mate. It was like an unknown force had a tight hold of his legs and as much as he wanted to move, he just couldn't do it at all. He couldn't believe that what he had feared the most had come true. The sound of rustling had Serena jolt out of her slumber, making her stay upright and on high alert. Her heart was thumping on an irregular rate and probable thoughts of an ambush crossed her mind. "Who's there?" Serena asked as she scanned the woods with keen eyes for anything threatening. She took notice that it was morning and the rain had finally stopped. She could still smell that lingering scent of the recent downpour as it flooded her nose. "Anyone out there?" she asked again, and when she heard a twig snap, her sensitive hearing zoned in on it, detecting its position. 'To the right,' she thought, and with that, she darted to that direction like a predator would hunt their prey and while she was at it, she took a quick sniff. The scent was a mix of leather and cinnamon, which she thought was not a bad smell, but she had to be sure. She had to know if it was a werewolf that made the sound or not, so she sniffed again. Sean ran as fast as his sturdy legs could carry him. He ran, and ran non-stop, his prime objective forgotten as he pushed his body to the limits for he knew he needed to hurry the hell up for time was not in his favor. It was a good thing that the 24 hours was almost up for he could feel his strength coming back in gradual increments.
