As the station wagon in front of her Sedan stopped again, Tamara Gray banged her hands on the steering wheel. It was nearly 7:30 pm. She could not afford to be home late, especially not today. She didn’t want her fiancé’s wrath. She had thought that she would be home early and had not anticipated the fog or traffic. The traffic crawled and moved at a snail’s pace until it finally cleared at the roundabout ahead and Tamara turned right onto a less busy street with towering residential houses. On the second one, he was looking casual, seated on a large couch in a spacious living room and staring into the camera intensely with his alluring green eyes. She caught her breath. He reminded her so much of her fiance, though his own eyes were light brown. Again, she felt guilt resurfacing but she quickly shoved it aside. This wasn’t cheating. She was just making friends, she told herself. You’re very attractive. She typed into the chat box and hit the send button. She had to hand it to him. He was hot. Thanks, he responded in the chat box. Now may I see yours? In a moment she responded. Then she located the picture that she had earlier chosen and sent it to him. Since he had sent two, she decided to send a second picture too. Tamara stopped cold for a moment. Did he just say that he wanted to meet her? She didn’t know how to feel about that except that she was flattered.“What?” she said, pretending not to hear what he had just said. It was her way of stalling her response.“You heard me, Tamara.” He answered. “But I’ll say it again. I Dedan Anderson, I am interested in meeting you, Miss Tamara Gray.”She marveled that he remembered her surname even though she had only mentioned it once. She did feel good about that. “So what do you say to that?” he asked jolting her out of her thoughts.Honestly, she wanted to see him too but she was afraid because of her fiance. Would it be bad to meet him? After all, she knew that they would only meet and see each other physically and that would be it.“What do you say, Tamara?”“I…I don’t know.”“Why? You told me you’re not seeing anyone if I remember correctly.”Tamara could not respond as she contemplated her answer. She had lied. Should she just tell him the truth
