My Return

I knew from the moment a particular group of werewolves had asked for my return that something had been off with them, but I had agreed to come to their world all the same. What I hadn’t expected was the greeting I received. Another of their kind was trying to prevent me from carrying out the promise, but it hadn’t been just any werewolf. Their glowing aura told me all I needed to know. This was one of the Moon Goddess’ stars. A spirit much like her, but not at all like myself. They claim to be Gods, whereas beings like me ARE Gods. I keep my expression neutral as I step through the black hole and gaze at the scene before me. The spirit and three of his friends are here, trying to ward off the angry souls that escaped through the same black hole as I did.I sigh before snapping my fingers, bringing them back under control again. As soon as the scene quietens down again, I return my gaze to the Star-Spirit and utter, “to summon me, then to

Found You

With a year given to me, I don’t want to waste a single second of it. However, the one named Rem hasn’t had his fill of me yet. He quickly blocks my way, shooting me death glares that hold no effect on me at all. However, out of respect for the promise I just made, I remain patient with him.“You can’t go out there and just fuckin’ do whatever!” He yells at me. I arch a brow but wait for him to finish. “You have to promise you won’t disturb the peace! No one can know what you fuckin’ are, got it!?”Oh. Was that all he was worried about?“Do not worry. None of the mortals will know me. I only plan to deal with my rival, and no other,” I tell the Hunter. He sighs and looks away from me, clearly unhappy at having just lost his mate to the unknown. The other two are silent as we speak, but I can tell from their expressions they are worried.“Not a single one!” Rem warns me, th

Not a Bird

It seems the man Maxen lives not too far off from here, which is probably a good thing. After making sure these interlopers don’t need me for anything else; which, of course, they did. It seems the Hunter is now a faux Alpha of his mate’s pack, so he has to deal with that on top of his Hunter duties, and of course, the other two are off to speak with the Spirits. With them gone, I finally can relocate Maxen. His home seems to be connected to many homes. I’ve seen nothing like this before in my life! To live so tightly together in one building cannot be healthy for these humans, can it? Then again, their ingenuity has always been quite good for mortals. Before I descend, I realise something. The first thing that comes to mind is that I need to encourage this man to battle me. If Hafgan’s soul attaches, it will be easier to convince him, but there is the risk that it will attach too tightly to the mortal which could cause permanent damage to Maxen

Morning Blues

I don’t go far from where Maxen lives, but I am quite happy to explore the new world as a human. Creating the new ‘money’ thing with my powers is no easy feat, however, as I am so used to using the old world silver and cold coins, yet they do seem to have similar currency even if it looks different.I don’t need to use the money to get what I want. It is easy enough to make mortals give me anything I demand, but I promised those busy-bodies from before that I would fit in. So, after a couple of ‘magic tricks' to get a hold of some money, I could easily afford a meal and a place to stay didn’t come hard to find either. What I did notice were the cute little plush toys of my bloodline in the shops. I almost wanted to buy one, but I didn’t think my father would approve of them. Or rather, he wouldn’t approve of me having them. He would probably be pleased humans still worshipped us in some roundabout way.As soon as m

Friends And Boys

“What… what did you do?” Max asks as the surrounding glow vanishes into the void from where I summoned it. His surprise at everything I do is quite amusing. As I put the pieces of chess away, I reply, “it is the promise of our bond made physical.” Max’s face burns hot as he hears my words. Is there something weird about what I just said? That’s what he wanted, right? To be friends since we are both boys? It must be new-world human slang, but it’s nothing I can’t handle. Besides, he might agree to fight me for real if we become closer friends with one another. “Is there an issue, Max?” I ask, tilting my head to the side as I consider his expression. He shakes his head at me but makes no sound of response. Thinking nothing of it, I nod and stand up to get a better look at my new home for the year. This will be such a small place to live, but I’ll manage. I will be stuck in this human form for much of my time, but it won’t be the worst way to spend a yea

Flowers of Death

On the first day in Max’s home, I felt for the first time in my life a coldness that I couldn’t warm away. Not that the weather was cold, but that Max remained shut off from me. I couldn’t put a finger on it, exactly, but there was something there that made me curious about why he acted so coldly towards me, despite his request. He spent the day in the other room, making my bed, he had said. The only other time he came out was to eat and to go to the bathroom. Neither time did he try to speak with me, and any time I tried to speak with him, he would shut me out and tell me to watch TV. Then, night came and he told me to sleep. It felt like I had taken one step forward and ten steps back. There was no progress to be made here, and I needed to figure out what I needed to do to get him to accept this battle. Perhaps cooking him breakfast hadn’t been enough? Starting tomorrow, I would find other ways to make Max open up to me. There had to be something he liked o

A Bedtime Kiss

Carrying this man home isn’t as easy as I expected it would be. He keeps touching my face, distracting me every time I even so much as attempt to shift back into my dragon form, but walking back would be impossible. I finally manage to change my form, but even flying back doesn’t come easy as Max shows signs of being ill from the speed and height. By the time I got back to his place, an hour had come and gone. He was still drunk, but he was slowly dozing off, so with luck, he would go to bed and everything would be fine. At least, that was what I had hoped would happen. Truth is stranger than fiction, though, as Max wrapped his arms around my neck, clinging to me as he complained inaudibly while I tried to get him into his bedroom. “Max, go to sleep now. I cannot understand a word you are saying,” I tell him as I let him cling to me. “You’ve had too much to drink.” Another mumble is all I get back from Max. I sigh and once more lift him into my arms.

All by Myself

I want so badly to follow Max to his ‘work’, but there would be no hiding who I really am from him. He would see my true form through any illusions I cast, and my human form is only the one, so it isn’t as though I could pretend to be a whole different human. I watch what direction he heads off towards and when he is out of sight, I keep watch of his aura.I’m sure he will be fine. There is no sign of Hafgan anywhere around this city but beyond it? I can’t tell. My sight doesn’t reach everywhere, so I just have to make sure nothing enters the city and we will be fine. At least, I hope so.In truth, I am not even sure Hafgan will give off an aura. I assume he will, much like any other dragon, but being dead changes things. Dragons do not die naturally. They only die in combat, usually against knights, but sometimes against one another. I have never seen a dragon’s soul before. The thought that Hafgan could sneak past me a

Melting Kiss

With the burning question in my mind, I go over the situation I have found myself in. Either I go back on my word since the promise made between us had been unclear and agreed upon under the wrong assumption on my part, or I continue to uphold it. It wasn’t Max’s fault I misunderstood, so I can’t be angry at anyone but myself. Yet I’m not angry at all. I should be. He is born of my enemy but wants to be with me sexually. If he hadn’t been born in this timeline, I would have assumed he was mocking me, but that’s not what this is. This feels more genuine. Even if he thought I would flee upon his wish. After a moment, I lean in closer to Max. “Do you still wish to continue the bond?” I question him. With how red his face becomes, I have my answer. “Then I shall not go back on my word, Max,” I replied to him. “For the year, I am yours.” With those words, I place my lips against his, and at first; he stiffens at my touch. This must be an unfamiliar experience for

Dutiful Boyfriend

It has been almost a week now and any time I try to arouse Max; he stops me from going any further than a mere kiss. He easily melts into those kisses, but beyond that? Nothing. I’m feeling a little sexually frustrated at being teased like this. However, I will never force him. This is his first time. Of course, he would be nervous about it. Right? At least, that is what I keep trying to tell myself. I sigh and wait for him to come home from work. I still dislike him leaving me here when he could be at risk, but so far, nothing out of the ordinary has happened. As soon as I hear the familiar click of him unlocking the door, I rise to my feet and rush to the door to greet him. “Welcome home,” I say, wondering if he wants me to do this at all. I’m not sure how to be a boyfriend. Dragons rarely date like this. It’s all lust and desire with us, so these expectations are new to me. Max offers me a brief smile, hiding his joy at my greeting badly. “I’m home,” he mu
