Prologue

We sat there thinking how we ended up being together. Thinking 'bout how our families met and just decided that we might help each other heal. Thinking about what came to their minds for them to decide that we should live together. I mean, I barely know this guy. I can't even think of any reason how I could help him, same as him to me. I can't risk myself again. Reminiscing how myself ended up building myself over and over again. What if this person gets so close to me somehow? I should say "no". But why does the other half of me pursues to risk because maybe he can really help me? Can two different people really help eachother? I stood up and decided to make some coffee for us. I gave him his americano as I was sipping from mine, then sat beside him and faced him. My mind is made up. “When do we start?” both said simultaneously.

Chapter 1: Bid of Good-bye's

I can't still believe how much we spent our days being with each other for the last two years. Not worrying about the bad things and what could go wrong. Just the matter of creating memories that we would be treasuring our whole lives. It's 9:00 in the morning and I'm currently dressing up for the meet up at a mini-mall here near our houses. Just shorts, black polo, a yellow jacket and my high cut black Converse shoes. I fixed my small backpack, got my pencil case, paper and a bottle of water. I arrived at the meeting place at 10. “Where are they?” I uttered. I've been waiting for the past 10 minutes. Finally, someone arrived. “You have the nearest house that you can just walk it, and here I am who came first.” “Hehe, sorry. I just said I'm already here so when I get here you're already here and wouldn't have to wait.” Can I just push them off

Chapter 2: “One americano, please”

Nine years have passed since I left Manila, and it's been over a year already ever since I came back. I started my own business. My dream business ever since I was only sixteen. Mama called while I was at the café. “You're staying at your office. It's not even safe that you have no one around you!” she exclaimed. Here we go again. I'm doing my best to find a place to live okay? It's just that I'm not comfortable with apartments. I have a couch in my office. This is my workplace. I have my bathroom here. My locker. Isn't it enough, for now? I can afford a place in one of the condominiums here near the café, it's just that, I want something that would make it feel like home. Comfortable. “Ma, I'm contented here already. My office is like my room, and this café is like my home. I'll go now. I still have to help them prepare since we're filled with customers. Gotta go, bye I love you!&r

Chapter 3: Risk or Cop-out?

“Here's your keycard ms. If there'll be anything more you need, just ask me. I'll be going now. Have a nice stay.” He turned around politely and left the room.   “We'll be leaving now, too. I still have to open the bakeshop. We'll visit here next time. Babush, have fun!” Mich then left my bag on the floor and so as Krys.   I went inside and was just stunned at how simple it looks but still beautiful. The condominium may look luxurious but, the owner of this unit has a good taste in simplicity. The kitchen was next to the hallway passed the door. Looking at the kitchen, this may be embarrassing but I think I'll love cooking here hahaha. I saw a note on the island counter.    "You'll see the floorplan of the room right next to the entrance door. Our rooms are 2 meters apart facing each other. Bedroom 2 is yours. I'll leave the door open." I looked at the floor plan and analyzed it right away.   In

Chapter 4: Give it a try

Oh hell, It's 10 already? Good thing I told my staff I won't be able to make it today since I have an important thing to do. What I mean about the "important thing" is, what happened last night. I stood up, went to the bathroom and cleansed my face.   When I opened the door, I saw Mr Sevani—I mean, Clint—about to knock on my door. He turned around and smiled.    “Hey, I was about to call you. I mean, for breakfast? I prepared some, come on,” he said and so I followed him. It smells so nice on our way to the dining area. Then, there. The food looks so good. I have been loving the looks of the food on Krys' resto but hell, this also looks good.   “I cooked a few since I don't have an idea of what you like,” he said and scratched his nape. Why does he look so cute? “I'm not a picky eater. Still, thank you for the food,” I thanked him as we were getting food.   “I am just returning the favour for th

Chapter 5: Roasted!

A week has passed, I am still not ok with this set-up. Clint and the gang, yes, the GANG, are starting to be friends. For the past week, they've been hanging out in my out my café. I mean, do they even have jobs?   Where are they getting this much time? Especially Levine and Krysyle who's been studying law. Huxley, who's a pilot. And Clint, who's an engineer, and currently has an ongoing project.   “GOOOODMORNIIIING!!!!” Mich exclaimed as she enters my office. Next to her was Huxley, who also greeted, "morning, Mae!”   This is getting out of hand. I'm a little bit not happy with my decision of not continuing my engineering... career If I did, I might be somewhere right now, enjoying my inspection time. Travelling this world.   “Morning, Mae.” Here follows the three. I crossed my arms and looked at them with a serious face. “Don't you people have jobs to do and career to fulfil?!” I asked and they jus

Chapter 6: Re-design

It has been 2 weeks and a half already, and I am telling you, I haven't found a house yet. Wonder why not just take a unit in Clint's building? IT'S TOO BIG FOR ME YOU KNOW?! I just want an affordable simple house. 'Till I get to build my own. It has been a week and I am getting more nervous for myself.    “Hey! Good afternoon madame.” I turned around and saw him. “Don't you have work, Mr Sevani?” I raised my eyebrows as I was asking him while he was peeking on my office door.   “The construction's almost done and I'm done with my round and inspection for the day,” he said while looking inside my office. “Almost done? What do you mean? Haven't you just had an appointment with your client a week before?” I asked and crossed my arms.   “It's just for the materials. They just asked me if they could add something, how many are still needed, how much it'll take for them, etc,” he answered with a sigh. He's being talkativ

Chapter 7: A Father's Warning

I woke up due to the noise outside. Seriously tho, what’s with that rush ringing of the doorbell? I stood up and cleansed my face at first, then I took my glasses and phone, and went outside. I walked towards the door and looked through the video intercom monitor to see who’s outside. And to my surprise…   “What’s with you? It’s almost noon already and you’re still in bed?” my mom said as I open the door. How can I not oversleep when I’m tired from what we did yesterday? We even stayed up all night watching movies. I don’t even know where he got his energy from going to work after that renovation.   “Ma, I helped Clint with the renovation. You both know how I like doing renovations and redesigning places.” I lead them in the living room while I went into the kitchen.   “Have you eaten lunch already?” I asked. “Yes, we’ve eaten already,” papa answered as he was travelling his eyes all over the place.

Chapter 8: The sleep over

“You’re early today!” Clint said as soon as I walked into the dining area. “Why are you saying that as if I always wake up late?” I answered and he just chuckled. “You get up late every time you don’t wanna go to work.”   Why did that sounded like as if I am always lazy to go to work? “That is not what I mean hahaha. What I mean is, of course as a businesswoman, you do always have free time unless it’s urgent or what.” Does he have the ability to read someone’s mind?   “Anyways, come on. Let’s have breakfast. Good thing I accidentally cooked too much.’ I raised my brow at what he said.   “Are you in a bad mood or something?” He asked. I chuckled and looked at him, “Why does everybody think I look like I’m in a bad feather every time I’m serene?”    He smirked and chuckled then said, “Because you’re an unfathomable person, Maesea. You have a very unfathomable mood.” Fair enough. Kinda understand

Chapter 9: Frustrated

I woke up with these two by my side. Hmm, what time is it again? 10 in the morning. I quietly stood up and went outside. These four still have works and classes as early as 7 am. I should prepare breakfast for them.   I went to the bathroom and went into the kitchen. “You’re up,” Clint said while drinking water. “Yeah. These four still have works and school. I had the thought of preparing breakfast for them,” I answered.   I took eggs, slices of bacon, and hotdogs from the fridge, and Clint decided to help me with the cooking. “What time did you sleep last night?” I asked him while flipping slices of bacon.    “Honestly? I feel like I haven’t slept at all. They’re awake ‘till 2 in the morning, I think?” I turned to him and chuckled when I saw his eyes.   “What?” he asked and looked at his face through his phone. “Continue this, please. I’m gonna make some coffee,” I asked and he took over.
