Chapter 100: Sara's Report

A few days earlier, Inside a waiting room within the Hunter Association Headquarters. Sara was sitting on a couch in a polite and proper way, suited for a maiden such as herself. Her eyes threatened to fall shut on her but she kept her focus up as best she could. She raised her head when she heard the door open. A staff member of the Association was the one behind it. “Miss Whitegate, the president will see you now.” The staff said. Sara only gave a nod before standing up. She then followed the staff to the Association President’s office. The staff opened the door for her and let her enter while she stepped back and closed the door after Sara had entered. The office was the same every time she entered. The only difference she ever noticed would be the amount of paper on the president’s desk. Which was never too much to begin with, but today it was seemingl

Chapter 101: Investigation

A few days later, Jack was waiting by a junction in the streets. He was wearing a pair of sunglasses and just simple casual clothes. He looked at his watch from time to time while he tapped his finger with his arms crossed. “You seem impatient.” The voice of the person he had been waiting for finally arrived. “You’re late.” He said as he looked at the woman. She wore a plain white dress with a white sun hat which enhances her beauty even more. She tipped her hat up a bit as she spoke.  “You never specified a time. Just in the morning.” “We’re both on a tight schedule here. Let’s go.” Jack walked ahead of her first. Their destination was already in view. The Crane’s Mansion, also known as Cecilia’s mansion. Once they were near the gate of the mansion, they w

Chapter 102: Creepy Woods

The wyvern landed on solid ground with a thud. The Hunters on its back jumped down with their own thud each time. They then took off the straps of their bags and took them down from the wyvern as well. Izz was the last to get down and he patted and stroked the wyvern’s neck, comforting it. “Get some rest boy.” The wyvern bellowed softly before disappearing like particles into thin air. Shim Boon put on his backpack then looked at the sky. It was slightly cloudy but the sun was still shining bright at it’s high point. “Let’s get going, we’re losing daylight here!” He shouted to the others as he turned around. “Wait, where’s Bran?” He noticed that he was gone. “Oh, he said he needed to get it out of his system.” Matthew said. “Really, guess we should’ve warned him first. How are you feeling, n

Chapter 103: Ambushed

Shim Boon was searching between the bushes for the items needed. He picked leaves, flowers, branches and fruits from certain trees. As he went about his job, he was wondering if the two newbies were doing fine. “Maybe I shouldn’t have made them split up?” He asked himself. So far, he has only done this job with much more experienced people. He checked the time on his watch. It was about twenty minutes since they started. The Managone on his waist was only just starting to give a small glint. He had a little bit more time before he had to change his canister. He pushed away the leaves and branches in his way that led him to a path. Something caught his eyes. “Footprints?” Indeed and not one of animals. It was the barefoot of a humanoid. It led back down the path, towards the campsite. “These don’t look fresh, but....&r

Chapter 104: A Mysterious Girl

A girl was covering Matthew’s mouth while she desperately looked around. What was she looking out for? After a while, she took her hand off of Matthew’s mouth. “Who are you?” Matthew asked her. The girl was surprised and went into a panic. She was saying something that Matthew did not understand. It sounded like a different language. Matthew observed her person. Her skin was tanned and she had black hair. There was a crown of flowers on top of her head. Her clothing was simple and made from animal skin. Perhaps a local? She seemed to be around Matthew’s age as well. Just then he had an idea. He placed his hand on his chest and said his name. “Matthew.” He was hoping that she would understand his intention.Luckily he picked it up and did the same as him. “Sasha.” She said while doing th

Chapter 105: The Hidden Tribe

Matthew, Sasha and Pix arrived at the camp a while later, only to find that everything was in disorder. The furniture were flipped, the cabinets were open and muddy footprints everywhere. "What happened here?" Matthew asked no one. "I honestly expected worse for a camp." Pix said. Sasha looked at the floor and noticed something. There was a bead the size of a thumb. She picked it up and examined it. "This… Is from my people." She said in a gasp. "Your people?" Matthew turned to her. "Yes, warriors of our tribe wear a bracelet made from these beads tied together." “Warriors huh? By the looks of it, they ransacked this place. What were they looking for?” “They were definitely looking for me. Your friends must’ve gotten into a fight with them before being taken away.”

Chapter 106: The Dragon's Trial

“Get ready!” The wyrm slithered its way towards the Hunters while roaring. Shim Boon, Izz and Bran prepared for a fight. “Our hands are still bound though!” Bran said. “Then cut it. Izz!” “Right, [Therizino]!” With one callout, Izz’s hands morphed into scythes and simultaneously cut the ropes that were binding his hands. Then he cut Shim Boon’s and Bran’s bindings as well. Just in time for them all to jump out of the way of the wyrm. It crashed into the wall. With it temporarily stunned from the crash, the Hunters took the chance to switch out the canisters of their Managones. Shim Boon took out two yoyos from his pockets. “Bran, where’s your sword?” Bran looked to the place that they just were. His greatsword was lying there on the floor. And nearby

Chapter 107: Rightful Respect

Matthew walked towards the entrance that would lead him to the crystal that he had been looking for. Sasha and Pix were also walking with him. The entrance opened up to a tunnel that was dark. As they went deeper, more and more light particles started appearing and voices also started to whisper something into their ears. “The voices of my sisters. They are questioning why you’re here.” Pix said. “Yeah, I can hear them.” Matthew said. “What’s an outsider doing here?” “Was Gilas slacking off?” “Just get lost already.” “Isn’t that Pix?” “Why did they bring him here?” “They don’t seem to like me though.” “Well, for certain reasons, even I hated you. But the fact that you understood me, us, made me change my mind.”

Chapter 108: Yggdrasil

Matthew, Sasha, Pix and Belle were heading up a flight of stairs. The stairs led to another chamber that had tree roots as a roof. The roots had green glowing veins on it that illuminated the entire chamber. Matthew was nothing but mesmerized looking at the chamber. It was something magical to him, even in this magic filled world. “We’re here.” Belle announced upon arriving. In front of them was a ball of roots that grew out of the ground. It was like a case that was protecting something. “Stand back a bit.” Belle said. Matthew and the others did as told and backed away. Then, Belle spread her arms out and began chanting something. Once she was done, she fell silent for a moment. Then she turned around to face them. “I’m sorry. It seems that Yggdrasil doesn’t want to meet you.” “Eh, really?” Ma
