Cora slowly made her way to the Alpha Jordan's chambers. As she entered, she saw him slumped in his chair with his head in his hands. At first, she felt a twinge of satisfaction at the sight of the man who had killed her parents in such a state of despair. But then she remembered her purpose for being there and her feelings changed.

"Alpha Jordan, what happened?" she asked with concern as she walked towards him.His expression had drawn her attention to him.

Jordan lifted his head, revealing a pained expression on his face.

"The Council is demanding that I lead an impromptu pack invasion to capture new slaves," he explained with a deep sigh.

"I don't want to do it, but I fear the consequences if I don't comply."he stated .

She was taken aback by the Alpha's revelation. She had never heard of the Council demanding such a thing before.

"Why do they need new slaves?" she asked, trying to understand the situation.

He looked at her with a mix of pain and anger in his eyes.
