"Don’t you dare say anything about Emma," I warned Mason, my voice trembling with suppressed rage. I was losing control. Emma was my love, my everything, and I couldn’t stand to hear her being disrespected.
“Are you going to take my life, Alpha, like you took the life of your pup for that... whore?” Mason spat, and a storm of guilt and anger surged through me, blinding my thoughts. His words pushed me over the edge.
I grabbed his collar and yanked him toward me, my fist connecting with his face in one swift, brutal punch. Blood dripped from his nose, but he didn’t stop.
“Are you going to destroy the entire family for her? Kill us all for that woman?” he provoked, his words like daggers.
The beast inside me broke free. I struck him again, harder this time, my fury spilling over.
“She’s taken away Luna’s happiness, and you stand here defending her?” Mason growled, clutching his stomach. “It’s your fault! Because of you, Luna is lying there, broken. And you—”
“That’s ENOUGH!” I roared, my voice echoing through the corridor. My muscles tensed, my wolf threatening to take over. My brown eyes turned crimson, my shirt stretching as my body began to shift.
But just as I was about to give in to the beast, a hand rested on my shoulder. I froze, recognizing the touch instantly.
I turned to see Emma. Her tear-streaked face shattered my rage. Her eyes, filled with pain and guilt, pleaded with me to stop.
“Alpha, kill me if you must,” Mason sneered, “but know this: you’ve let her destroy everything. She’s ruined our pack. She’s a—”
“ENOUGH!” Emma’s voice cut through his accusations, though her hands trembled.
I inhaled deeply, forcing my wolf back. “Beta Mason, watch your words. She is not to be disrespected again,” I said, my tone cold but firm.
Mason glared at Emma with disgust, his loyalty torn between me and the woman he believed had destroyed us. Without another word, he left.
Emma stood there, her body trembling. “Alpha, don’t lose yourself. Your wife needs you. The loss... it’s too much,” she whispered.
“I was calm,” I replied, my voice raw, “until he called you that.”
“What he said wasn’t wrong,” she murmured, her voice breaking. “I destroyed my sister’s family. I took her husband. I... I killed her child.”
Her words gutted me. I cupped her chin, forcing her to meet my eyes.
“No. This is my doing,” I said firmly. “I forced you into my life. I dragged you into this chaos. None of this is your fault.”
Her tears flowed freely now, and my heart twisted. She had changed me, this fragile yet strong woman. She made me feel things I never thought I was capable of feeling. But it had come at a cost—one I could never repay.
“It is my fault,” she insisted. “I fell in love with my sister’s husband. Mason was right. I deserve this guilt.”
I couldn’t bear her self-loathing. I pulled her into my arms, holding her tightly. She didn’t resist. For a moment, we clung to each other, bound by our shared pain.
“I regret loving you,” I said, my voice barely audible. She froze, pulling away to look at me.
“I regret choosing you as my lover,” she replied, her words cutting through me like a blade.
“I regret betraying Violet and choosing you,” I added, forcing myself to keep going. I needed her to hate me.
“I regret every moment I spent with you,” she whispered, her voice breaking.
My chest ached as if someone had ripped my heart out. I had never felt pain like this before.
“I wish I had never met you,” I said, leaning down to kiss her one last time.
The kiss was full of pain and longing. My tongue explored hers, desperate to hold on to the moment, knowing it would be our last. Her tears mixed with mine, the salt stinging my lips.
Finally, I pulled away, my resolve hardening. “Goodbye, Emma. We will never meet again. I lost my child tonight. I can’t lose Violet too.”
Her silent sobs broke what little remained of my heart as I turned and walked away, leaving her in the darkness of my love.
Emma, the only woman I would ever truly love, was now nothing more than a bittersweet memory.
EMMABecause of me, my sister attempted suicide. Because of me, her unborn pup is gone. I am the reason for everyone's misery.I am the wrecker—the one who destroyed lives. Why did I have to fall for my sister's husband and mate? I’ve made everyone’s lives unbearable. The pain in Violet’s eyes when she jumped from the terrace will haunt me forever. Those eyes accused me of loving the wrong man.“The Luna is stable now. She’ll wake in a few hours,” the doctor said, pulling me out of my thoughts. I lifted my head to look at him, but his words felt hollow. If only they knew I’m the reason their Luna almost died, they would despise me. The entire pack would turn against me if they realized I was the cause of this near-tragedy.Violet lay on the stark white bed before me, her face pale and lifeless. Her once-rounded baby bump was gone, replaced with emptiness. When she wakes, she will curse me for the loss of her pup. I’m so sorry, Violet, but I couldn’t stop my heart from loving Elijah. H

But what do I have?" he asked, his voice full of pain.Everyone sees me as a home-wrecker, but no one understands my agony. I didn’t choose to fall in love with the wrong man, but how can you stop your heart from falling? EMMA - FLASHBACK (ONE YEAR AGO)Today is my last day at college, and after this, I’ll be pursuing my dream of becoming a vet. It's my passion, and I’m determined to achieve it. I get up from bed, take a refreshing shower, and put on my yellow dress. As I glance at my reflection in the mirror, I smile—feeling beautiful. My black hair falls to my waist, and my face is clear, though not quite as flawless as my sister Violet’s. She is the epitome of beauty.I leave my room and find my dad making a delicious breakfast. I hug him from behind and say, “Good morning, Dad.” He turns around and kisses me on the forehead. He’s the most loving dad. I’ve never met my mom, but Dad has always made sure we never feel her absence. He never talks about what happened to her and always avoids the subject until Violet and I forget about it and get busy with our lives.“Good morning, princess,” he says cheerfully, and the smell of fresh pancakes fills the air. “I love chocolate pancakes!” I say, my mouth w
EmmaThe last day of college still feels unreal, like I’m floating in the sky. The following days have been surreal—Adam and I have been hanging out almost every day. We’ve gone to fancy restaurants, driven by the seaside, and done so many things I’d always dreamed of. It’s been an incredible time.Today, I invited Adam to my place. Dad’s working late and won’t be home until midnight, and Violet is out with her boyfriend. It’s the perfect opportunity for me to spend the night with Adam—to take things to the next level. I chose my best dress, a sleek off-black number that falls mid-thigh. I want Adam to see me as hot, and I can’t wait for tonight.I’ve prepared everything: food, champagne, the atmosphere. All that’s left is for Adam to arrive. When the doorbell rings, my heart races, but my excitement fizzles when I see who it is.“What are you doing here?” I ask Violet, surprised and annoyed.“What kind of question is that? Can’t I be in my own home?” she retorts, still in the same dr
