chapter 5

chris's pov

After i dropped Anna home, I drove to the mansion .

I showered and had my dinner sent to my room.

I finished my dinner and decided to sleep before I tend to my other business.

I climbed the bed but I couldn't sleep ,images of Anna 's angelic face kept popping up in my mind.

I can't believe I did the most stupid thing today I kissed her on the lips while she was sleeping.

I got up and went to the gym in a bid to try and clear my head , but unfortunately I met Dominic already there.

What a pain in the ass I thought.

"Hi there boss he said immediately "he sighted me.

I brush passed him and went to on to start exercising.

" ouch my heart is hurt boss" he said as he came over to me.

"so, how far ? have you fucked her hmmm "he asked smiling micheviously but is still ignored him.

Come on boss tell me he said.

"Dont you have anything better to do than to disturb me" i asked him clearly annoyed.

"sorry boss ,I am single right now and you are the closest I can actually talk this way with because afterall you are my best friend". he said

"And I am binded with the others just by the oath of the familia"he added.

"But on a serious note chris, I haven't seen you act like this about any woman , you mostly just sleep with them and it is over. but this time it is different and even the way you look at her is different." he stated.

"I am just telling you this as a friend ,she is too innocent for our world "he said.

" I know Dom ,that's is why I am trying my best to stag away from her "I replied.

Boss, I heard Ricardo say as he walked towards us.

"The weapons we got the other day have all being stolen from the warehouse" he said.

who did it ? I asked as I felt my anger bubbling inside me.

we are still trying to find out he begin to say but I cut him off .

"I am giving you all one hour to report to me the person behind it or I will have your heads" i snared.

well, do you need an invitation? let's go Dominic said to Ricardo.

I am so pissed off right now , I can't believe what bunch of losers I have working for me that it was so easy to steal from me.

Anna's POV

After I finished talking with Nathan over the phone, I went out to get some groceries because I am tired of eating takeouts and i want to cook because Emily is coming back today.

Today , I was excused from the office earlier because chris was not at the office and he sent me an email to that I can leave the office early , I couldn't argue with that because I have things to do at home like cleaning the house and grocery shopping before Emily came back.

I went to the grocery store across our street,I bought all the things we need at home.

I went back home and started preparing lunch,I was trying to beat time so that I will finish cooking before Emily is here.

I cooked pasta and made ice cream for dessert.

Having finished cooking, I went to my room to shower, after which I changed into sweatpants and a tank top.

I heard the doorbell as soon as I came out of my room.

I opened the door and Emily jumped at me giving me a big hug.

" I miss you so much"she said

"me too"i replied

I took her luggage to her room

" I see you cooked" I heard her say

"come on let eat , I am starving" she said

I wished out the food and we sat on the kitchen chairs and digging in.

" How are grandma and zoey ?" I asked

"They are fine ,though zoey is becoming a little troublemaker" she replied

"And how have you being ? how is it working for your crush hmm? she asked

"well ,I am coping and Nathan and I are together now ,so I am fighting off that crush " I stated

" And how is it going ?" she asked

"Terrible because it is like I am getting more drawn to him instead of getting less close to him." I explained

"So how about you and Alfredo ?"I asked

"we are not a thing, just friends I guess" she replied but hey I am rooting for you and Nathan ,he looks like a nice guy.

"I hope I don't break his heart "I muttered

why would you do that ? Emily asked

"Because he has been nice to me but my heart seems to be with another man " I said weakly

" Hey, it is going to be OK "Emily said reassuring me.

" well let's go open the gift I bought "Emily said with excitement.

what about dessert ? I asked

"let's take it up to my room" she said

we went up to her room , we opened all the gifts she brought and surprisingly we fell asleep amid all our chatting .

I woke up to the sound of the doorbell .

I rolled out of bed and went to open the door, I was surprised to see Ella standing outside.

" Hi"she said as she brushed pass me into the house.

" who is that ?"Emily asked as he came into the living room.

Emily meet Ella , my colleague at work" I said

Hi" Ella said extending her to Emily for handshake,

Emily extended hers and shook her hand.

"How did you know where I live ?" I asked Ella

"I found out from your resume "she stated.

"let's forget about that ,I am here so we can party"Ella said with excitement .

I looked at her puzzled",Don't look at me like that ,there is a new club that is opening tonight and I don't have any friends to go to the opening with and I don't want to miss the opening " she said

" Sorry, I wish I can go but I can't ,you see Emily just came back today and we still have some catching up to do" I said to her

"Hmm , so now even you guys don't want to be my friends " Ella said sadly

"But don't you have any friends you can go with " I asked

" I don't have any true friends ,Anna you are my first true friend and now Emily" she muttered

"And now you don't want to hang out with me" she said as she lowered her head.

"Don't worry , we are going with you and you Anna ,learn to loosen up abit"Emily said which caused Ella to hug her with happiness.

"I think you and I will get along well "Ella said to Emily.

" OK girls, let go get ready ,the opening is at nine pm and we have two hours to get ready" Ella said excitedly.

"why can't I just stay at home and watch N*****x in peace" ,I muttered as Ella dragged us to my room because it is the first one.

we started getting ready, Ella did both our makeup and we all got in a comfortable charter and soon we were all laughing our heads off over Ella's silly jokes.

Ella and Emily were dressed and were waiting for me to come out of the bathroom but the clothes Ella gave me to wear were giving me concern.

" I swear if you don't come out in the next five minutes , I am coming in there to get you myself" Ella said

"come on Anna, it has been over twenty minutes since you went in there" Emily added

I finally wore the clothe , if you could even call it that , it was a top which has a bareback with only a chain in the middle to hold it and a micromini skirt with a high heel.

I finally came out but I was covering my body with my hands.

"Girls I look like a whore ,please let me change in something else" I begged them

"There is no time for that , we are already late "Ella said

And I looked at the time and there was still thirty minutes left before it was time to leave .

I gave hee my best puppy eyes but she still said no.

"Anna just enjoy the night , just think of today as your day to do something wild for once ,you sometimes scare me the way you live like a nun"

Emily said

"OK time to leave "Ella chipped

" Atleast, let me wear comfortable shoes "I said

"Nope let's go" Ella said dragging me along with her

we left the house and went to her car.

only cow I thought, she drives a mustang ,well what should I expect from someone who is a Damnatio.

"meet my baby "she said smiling

wow! Emily exclaimed.

we piled in and drove off .

we reached the club at nine sharp thanks to Ella's crazy driving.

There was a long line outside the club , when it reach out turn I thought.

"Follow me " Ella said we followed her to the door and the bouncer there greeted her.

"They are with me "she told him and we were all left in.

"You are officially my favorite person "Emily said to Ella

I was still feeling self conscious about my clothing and it didn't help that random guys kept staring at me.

"Feel free Anna , you are beautiful and you don't have to hide it"Ella said pulling me out of my thoughts.

"OK let's hit the bar and the we will set the dance floor on fire" Ella stated.

we went up to the bar and we ordered our drinks, tequila for me and whiskey for Ella and Emily.

"The bartender seems interested in you "Ella said to me and I looked up from my drink and saw him staring at me and smirked.

"I have a boyfriend " I said to her

"well it is a boyfriend not a husband" she said

"live a little"she added and went back to her drink.

Ella and Emily left me and went to the dance floor.

After five shots of tequila ,I could feel the alcohol buzzing in me.

I went to the dance floor and started swaying to the beat , I saw Ella already making out with a guy and Emily dancing with another guy .

I was dancing freely swaying my hips when I felt someone behind me who pulled me into him and we started swaying to the music together.

At some point ,I felt the guy's hot breath on my skin as he bit my earlobes and started trailing kisses down my throat to my shoulder ,I melted into his touch without caring if I had a boyfriend .

p.s it is the alcohol 's fault

I started humping the guy and he kept on nibbling and biting my shoulder while trailing kisses , damn I hope he doesn't leave a hickey where he kept nibbling I thought.

I felt his hands wondering over my stomach and made it way to my breast, he gently kept massaging it and I felt heat raising in my body especially between my legs .

And his cologne made me even more lust driven because it has the same scent with that of chris, I thought and I passed out right there in his arms.

"You such a light weight " i faintly hear him say as he picked me up

where are you taking me ? i asked

"Go to sleep amore, I will take you home" he said

There something about him that made me feel safe in his hands and I finally passed out in his arms
