Love y'all 😘
(Jade's POV)“You have any siblings?" I continued my questions, following him to wherever. This was definitely better than going to a farm.“Yes, a sister. Our mother died while giving birth to her. We stay with our father" He answered. What drew me to him was his simplicity. He didn't even mind talking to a complete stranger.“I don't think there are any schools around here. Did you go to school in the city?" I asked.“Yes, I couldn't complete middle and final year so I stayed back to help with the farm but my sister is in the city” He replied." So you are here catching fishes and tilling the earth just for her to go to school? That is not fair”" She's my sister and I want what's best for her. Sometimes, you don't have to be selfish”" But it's good to be selfish sometimes”I couldn't remember some of the things we discussed but it felt like I've known him for the whole of my life." This is my house. My father isn't around. He is at the farm, giving a tour to some high school kids
Jade quickly slammed the book she was reading in bed and headed for the door when she heard some noise. “Please stay in, Mrs. Stone” One of the men at the door said to her. " What is going on?” For some reason, her heart skipped a beat. " Don't worry, we have everything under control, but you have to get back inside” What was under control? Raquel showed up immediately. She held a rifle. " Raquel” Jade called. " What's going on?” " Make sure she stays inside. Don't allow her out” She instructed them. " Yes general” They chorused. Raquel pulled out another gun. She was in a rush. “Wait, I won't move an inch, you know that. Just tell me what's happening" Jade became worried for no reason. Raquel hesitated. " Xavier's car is under attack. Don't ask me more questions because I do not know. My men are still trying to neutralize the threat. Please stay here, you're safe in here” Jade noded. " Please take care of him” She blurted but couldn't take it back. Raquel gav
Jade stuffed a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth with a moan and laid back into the bed. Lately, her cravings got the best of her. She didn't know where they were coming from but they just kept coming and she has consumed a great amount of calories which should be alarming because she's one who always looked out for her shape. Maria hurried into the room when Jade was stuffing her face with chocolate waffers. “Ma’am, he just arrived" Maria informed. Jade quickly jumped out of the bed. “If he ask, tell him I went to the garden" She quickly instructed and ran to the bathroom. Maria walked out. “No, he will easily find me here" Jade hissed and looked around the room. Where will she hide? She can't hide in his study either! Jade quickly dashed to the balcony. If she stayed still, he will come in, freshen up and leave for another goddamn work so he won't see her. Jade quietly hid on the balcony behind the cold glass doors and soon, the doors opened. She heard his soft but firm
She felt like she could vomit the whole of her organs when she woke up. He throat was sore and her gut nasty. She had a light headache and a little temperature. “How’re you feeling, Mrs. Stone?” Dr. Vince greeted her with a smile. Jade looked from her personal doctor to her husband who stood close to the balcony doors, too far from her and she couldn't tell what was on his mind. " Hey, doc” Jade gave him a small smile. " I feel nasty” " That's just fine. You'll feel better. And congratulations once…” " I'm pregnant, ain't I?” She sighed and turned away from the doctor. “Yes, a month" Dr. Vince looked at at Xavier who said nothing. " Okay” She sadly nodded. Dr. Vince walked to Xavier as they discussed something and he left. Jade placed her shaky hand on her belly. She wasn't expecting this news but unlike the last time, she wasn't sad, or regretful to carry his child. It surprised her because she didn't feel the disgust, the shame of carrying his child, the pain she once felt
Grabbing a bottle of champagne and two flutes in the other hand, Carrie removed a tiny tube from her purse and emptied its contents in one of the glasses. She turned to look around but no one was there.Xavier will soon be in his suite. She quickly filled the two glasses with the champagne and sipped from one.“I promise you, Xavier, today, our lives will change forever!” She happily smirked to herself and gulped everything.Carrie refilled her flute and Xavier walked in.He paused briefly at the door." What are you doing here?” He asked, pulling off his suit jacket and sat at the edge of the bed.“I wanted us to celebrate the success of yet another partnership with a mob boss" She picked the two glasses and walked to him, swaying her hips.“I'm not really in the mood, Carrie" He dismissively said.“C’mon" Stoped in front of him and looked at him with a sad sigh. “I miss my friend. When was the last time we hung out? Or had a drink together?”" I'm flying back home this night" He inf
Jade's footsteps became soft and cold. She walked to the bed with deep breaths and frozen heart. There laid her husband in another woman's arms. They slept naked in the bed, holding each other as their legs entangled. Her cold palms turned into frozen fists. She became rooted to the floor few inches away from the bed.She stared down on them with contempt, laced with disgust.A sweet sour flavor of betrayal hit the back of her throat, making her nauseous with anger. All she did was stare at the betrayal, with tears in her eyes and a voiceless cry.She couldn't feel anything. Her eyes were only on him.And one question reverberating in her mind.‘Why?’“Xavier…” His name escaped her mouth in a whisper. “Xavier!" This time, it came out with a screech.Carrie slowly opened her eyes and eventually, Xavier too.The two looked the woman towering over them with anger in her eyes.“J-Jade..” Xavier tried to get up but his head felt heavy.Carrie quickly pulled the sheets to cover herself. “Ja
It is said that the person you consider your friend can also stab a knife to your back. All her life, she always got what she wanted. Being an only child, mummy's favorite and daddy's little princess. Her parents were rich enough so they fulfilled her heart desires with a smile every single time. But the look on their faces as they sat opposite her in the living room and the inability to look her in the eyes said it all. She was still in denial but no matter how many times she asked them, their answer remained the same. "The company is dying! We are bankrupt" Her father said but he maintained his composure. His black hair had a little touch gray with light wrinkles around his eyes but his beard was completely gray. "I still don't get why you 'sold' me!?" She angrily shouted. She was still in her pajamas but her long blond hair neatly flowed down her back. "Jade, we had to do the next best thing for our company" her mother replied instead. "The next best thing would be selling
If only angels were real. No, not an angel, he is a god! His face looked fragile yet deadly. He looked like a masterpiece crafted by the softest hands and finest stone. Jade couldn't take her eyes off him. The way he looked at her sent fireworks through her veins. She disconnected the eye lock and her eyes moved down to his succulent lips. "You wanted to escape?" He asked. All she saw was his lips moving. He was saying something but she heard nothing. She felt the heat radiating from his body and the tightness of his muscles around her. Was she still in his arms? Well, it felt right. What is more than being saved by the most beautiful creature on earth? "Were you trying to escape?" He hoarsely asked again and this time, she heard him. He said it with such a voice that sent chills down her spine. It matched his appearance and sounded like a melody. Sexy, yet sinister. "Um...No! I was just enjoying the view but I lost my footing" She stared up at him. He gave her a faint s
