Today, Madison woke up earlier than she usually did, so she had about about two hours to clean, make breakfast and probably dinner as she would be coming back a little late, clean her room and then prepare for work. She felt so much better today than she usually did. The past few days had been somewhat therapeutic for her, and she liked it so much.Shopping with Gina had been a major incident that had brought her happiness, and just yesterday, Mrs Sterling and her other neighbors had invited her over. She had spent nearly the entire day with them, talking and playing with the kids, and when night dawned and she had to leave, she had been quiet, but even then she did enjoy every moment. Madison had decided to make out time to visit her friends in the neighborhood at least once a week, since they’d complained of not seeing her very often since she'd started working, and she knew there was truth in their statement. She left early and came back late, unless she had the day off and on
KATHERINEKatherine eyed the nurse in contempt as she disconnected the tubes they had fixed in her, pulling out the cannula gently. Hissing, Katherine pushed the nurse aside and stood from the bed. Being in this darn place had felt like being caged, and she longed to teach all these bastards a lesson. They'd had the audacity to push her around and drug her at will, and once again she still hadn't gotten over the fact that the idiot who called himself a doctor had said she was crazy. She had a mental illness right? Well she would show them she was really mad by the time she was done with them.Shutting down the damn hospital should be enough of a lesson to them, and she would do so as soon as she got her bearings. She would get in touch with her lawyer soon, and take matters in her hands. She had gotten the chance to speak with her father about this, saying bad things about the staffs, and as soon as he could, he had sent someone over to London, calling and ordering the hospital to
Being in his old family house had felt strange to Damien. He had a bittersweet feeling raging in him, and seeing that he was torn between the two emotions he didn’t know which to choose at all. There was a strange kind of warmth that came with walking into his old room, and although it had been renovated and everything looked different, it still felt the same. He tried not to think about it way more than he should, because if he continued to let himself dwell in the past, then he was sure that the nostalgic feeling would soon change to anger. All in all though, the house had been in perfect condition, and spending about thirty minutes in there, when he was done, he ordered his driver to take them back to a hotel he’d booked prior to his coming. It was the best hotel in the town and it wasn't too far from where he planned to go so he paid for the suites. For comfort, he made sure everyone in his entourage had their separate room, with everything they would need and after ordering
Damien stared at the rundown house in front of him through the tinted windows of his car. It was the worst neighborhood he had ever been in, and instantly his mind went back to the place Madison had been staying in. He had thought it was terrible, but this… he had no words for it. Dirt and refuse was littered in every corner, and all the flats in the neighborhood looked the exact same way, old and dilapidated. Damien marveled at the difference between their old mansion, and this current residence. He still couldn't believe it, as it was even more terrible than he had expected. As he continued to stare at the dump in front of him, he couldn't help but see the image of their old mansion in his head, and it was so much different from this. Damien shook his head. What if they had made a mistake? What if the description his investigator had given was wrong? No matter how hard he tried he couldn't picture the mighty and proud Mr Connor living in this environment, as the version of th
"What the fuck do you think you're doing here?”Damien watched in amusement as Mason Connor spat, his hands clenching into fists as he glared at him.He was giving out the exact reaction he desired, and now by yelling, he was only trying to coat his embarrassment with fury but Damien could see right through it and honestly it was simply pathetic to watch. He wondered if Mason had learned anything from this downfall, that had befallen his family.Had the motherfucker learnt values, lessons, morals, manners, anything at all? Damien didn’t think so, because by the looks of things, he had gained nothing. And all Mason Connor seemed to have lost from before was the wealth his family had, but even till now his sour attitude still remained. Damien clicked his tongue. It was just like the Connors to feel threatened when they sensed competition, or any sign that someone was in a better position than they were, and it was also another reason why Damien would enjoy flinging them down their i
Damien's mind was miles away as he drove through the streets of London. His fingers gripped the steering wheel as he drove, his meeting with Mason still fresh in his mind. He couldn't explain how he was feeling at the moment. He wanted his investigator to do further investigation, he needed to know if the child was really his but Damien realized there was no way to know that. Besides he'd heard it directly from her brother. Why would Mason lie? After all these years, what would he stand to gain? Absolutely nothing obviously. However Damien had no answer to that question, and he had began to feel tortured the moment Mason had mentioned Madison's pregnancy. His chest had never felt so heavy like it did today, and it had broken him down so much that he no longer had the energy to talk to Madison's parents. Shakily, he had made his way back to the car, and since he needed to be alone at that point, he had ordered his security guards, driver, and the investigator to stay back at the h
For the second time, Damien walked into another one of his clubs that he had never been in before. He had hotels and clubs everywhere, but the ones in London were those he had never visited because of his past but since he was here already, he decided to take advantage of his time and visit as well as check on them. His palms were sweaty as he parked his ride in front of the club and walking up the stairs to the bar, he was surprised when the bouncers in charge seemed to recognize him instantly as soon as they caught sight of him. They greeted him respectfully, bowing a little and one of them offered to lead him to the VIP section. Damien didn't argue at all, as he was too disoriented at the moment to reply to argue or disagree at all.Not replying verbally to any of the greetings, he only waved them off and let the bouncer lead him to the VIP section. Usually, Damien's eyes would be around the room looking for any signs of bad maintenance or signs that the club was thriving, jus
Madison felt her stomach churn. Everything that was happening right now was mostly her fault, and suddenly she began to regret coming to the club in the first place. A few steps away from her, she could see Gina staring at the men in horror, and as though Gina could sense her looking in her direction, she swiftly turned to Madison, quickly rushing to her side. "M-Madison are you okay?" She asked, using her free hand to rub her back in circles, but Madison had stopped listening. Her eyes had gone to the middle of the room where the men had gathered in a heated argument, and in her haze she had only remembered that someone had yelled at them, startling everyone, but she hadn't seen who it was. No she had seen whom it was, but she didn’t want to believe her eyes at all.And again she caught sight of him… Of Damien and her eyes widened in disbelief. What the hell was he doing here? She wondered, her disbelief slowly changing to anger and without thinking, she yanked her hand out of
